Back to the real world! Yesterday we did laundry, went to the beach and met friends at the local winery followed by dinner out at a new restaurant. These friends are usually in Aruba when I go but they went on a 14 day road trip instead traveling through 24 states. What an adventure!
I am going to the food store soon to stock up on healthy eating items. It is time to buckle down and get some of this excess weight off. I have my annual checkup with the Bariatric surgeon in a month so I want to use that as incentive to eat on plan and cut down on carb intake. Yesterday I changed what I had been eating at lunch to eat high protein with no simple carbs and my gut was much more comfortable than it usually is after lunch these days. I have reached the conclusion that I have at least a mild case of early dumping syndrome as I have some difficulties which fit under that essentially every time I have crackers or breads. I guess my body is telling me something important!
The only other thing on the agenda is sweeping out all the pollen accumulated on the porches and deck and cleaning the outside tables. It all kind of sat there while I was away and since the worst of the pollen is finally gone, it is safe to do so. Mike is golfing this morning so we will probably take Justice for a long walk along the water once he is back.
Have a safe and healthy Monday!

It is not that I WANT to track DC. My safety depends on knowing, thus the double edge.
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
I think you need to do what you need to do. Knowing what he's up to might give you some security, but I imagine he is also posting things that hurt. This is all very new for you. I hope you have a good connection with your new therapist, since there is so much at stake, your physical and emotional safety. Have you explored any groups or resources for survivors of domestic violence? They might have some resources, supports to help you through this transition. I'm sure none of it is easy, and your joy at being free gets overwhelmed by the trauma you've been through.
You get it ! So appreciate!

I get it. By all means you must keep yourself safe. Take care!

Liz, I'm focusing in on tracking today too. There aren't any parties etc on my schedule until July 2, so just the usual temptations to deal with, not fun party food too.
Cecily, today is also cold and windy here. It was 90 on Friday, today is in the low 60s. I have the Windows open to air out the house, but it's getting cold in here!
Since its coldish, I'm making a big pot of chili, double the veggies the recipe calls for, so less meat per serving. It smells pretty good right now. Even when it gets hot again, I'm happy to eat things like soup, stews and chili. I'm hoping this can be a healthy, tasty, low points go to this week for lunch/snacks.
I'm trying to keep the house picked up since we had it professionally cleaned. It's constant!! And there's only 3 adults living here.
A little more yard work, tidying up the guest room so it's ready. BFF should be arriving before the end of the month to stay for a few weeks.
That's it for now, onto a million little chores.
I just made a yogurt pie and I am making a lo-cal Mexican Spaghetti Squash casserole for dinner. I do best when I plan and when I have good tasting but healthy things available to eat.

I so agree. Any kind of on plan eating won't last long if I feel deprived, so healthy tasty food is key. Luckily, I really enjoy veggies and fruits, and Greek yogurt and shrimp etc. but if there are granola bars, or other prepackaged food in the house, I end up grabbing those. To that end, I just presweetened a tub of Greek yogurt with sugar free vanilla Torani and cinnamon. I have blueberries. That should be pretty much grab and go if I'm feeling hungry, and also lazy about cutting up fruit. :)
Greetings all
Pleasant day here and not much to ***** about. Kiln opened and I got a few trinkets. Made a quick grocery store visit to pick up a few things. Why is it $60 for so few items? Could be because its steak and wine.
Pups are still adorable but really demanding. Big time poop, into everything, escape their enclosure and fuss and whine when they want out. The old senile dog barks at us for no reason. Its like a dog nursery and nursing home.
Pups had chewed up the corners of a dictionary set which we had not used in 40 years to I took it to the studio to toss in a dumpster. Can not put it in the home trash because DH will take it back out. So someone at the studio saw me with it and wanted the dictionary! Score!!
Diane O do what you need to to say safe. We are with you.
My plan tonight is to make chicken salad of the leftover grocery store roast chicken. The main thing is that DH will eat it.
I dove into popcorn last night. Fortunately there was not a lot left.
Next puppy adopter arrives Friday. She will stay here for a few days. Much cleaning to do before then.
