No suicidal snake this time, just a fried AC circuit. My home is once again pleasantly cool. Had a consultation with an attorney, which led to a day of detail chasing.
- I need six months of established residency to file for divorce in FL
- I need a FL driver's license to expedite establishing residency
- I need FL auto insurance to get a FL driver's license.
Spent lots of time on hold, but I had the presence of mind to keep my passport and SS card with me during this transition and can line up requirements for an "out of state combo appointment" at DMV next week. Continuing with therapy is on my priority list too. After much thought, I'm going to move forward with in-person therapy (with the option of video if Covid changes things) as opposed to Dr. On Demand, which I do highly recommend. The combination of isolation due to the pandemic and my marriage were not healthy.

Diane, I am sure that getting your "ducks in a row" is satisfying right now. You are moving forward.
And I am moving toward flying home mid-day today. I am still drinking coffee but we are mostly packed and ready. The airport here is always a nightmare with huge lines to wait through. Part of the airport is actually US territory so we re-enter the US before we board the plane. Leaving Aruba on a Saturday is always a major ordeal but more so right now with the Covid test documentation to be checked as well.
The next time I post I will likely be back on Cape Cod. Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

We made it through Aruba and US security and check-in in 1/2 hour! Record time in Aruba (it has taken almost 3 hours at times in the past).

Diane, You've had a lot to sort out. Once your lease is up, is it still your plan to stay in Florida, or are you undecided?
Liz welcome back, I bet your pup is happy to see you.
Peps, your heat observation makes sense. I read that when you live in a hot climate, over time the amount of plasma in your blood increases to help you cool better. (Probably not in 3 days). My great grandma, who was originally from Alabama, would tell us that when she visited her sisters down south, she would come back and suffer more from the cold because the heat in Alabama had "thinned her blood". Turns out she was right!
Shirl, I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday on the farm.
Cecily, hope your weekend plans don't overwhelm you with too many food temptations. Get togethers are so nice, but the amount of delicious food presented to us gets to be a big struggle. Even just having my daughter living with us changes the food landscape.
Today a switch has flipped and it is a fresh, cool breeze. High of 80 predicted. I've thrown open all the windows in the house, after running the AC for weeks. I am grateful for AC on those 90plus days, but I always feel like the air is dead when it's air conditioned. Weird analogy, but I know.
No big plans here, some yard work, laundry, maybe some reading.
Happy Saturday everyone!

Weight: breaking point! At least breaking points make me feel more motivated to change behaviors. I wish I didn't need them to make good choices though.
I don't know why, but I randomly checked my flight info for my September trip to the UK. It said there were flight changes and in trying to figure out what the changes were and if there were better flight options, I found tickets for the same flights are now substantially less than what I paid (nearly half the price). And given I booked business class tickets for my long legs on a long flight "substantially" was substantial. So I called United to see what my options were. I talked to the nicest guy who got me an exception to the rule that price adjustments can only be made within 30 days. So I got a credit for half my ticket to be used in a year. Woohoo! Feels like free money!
We had rain this morning, but it's sunny now and in the 60s. Love it.
I'm off to the grocery store for dinner stuff and birthday and Father's Day cards and then maybe some reading this afternoon with laundry in there somewhere.
Greetings All
DianeO so glad you do not have fried snake. And that your AC is back. Sounds like you have plenty to do but at least its manageable tasks like the drivers license etc. Glad the on line therapy is useful.
Down to three puppies. They are big girls now - over 5 pounds. Walter is at his new home and is being worshiped by his new owner. She is an energetic person recently retired so her whole life is devoted to raising a good dog. I get hourly reports on his habits. So cute.
Liz hope you are safely home soon. No place like home.
Glad everyone is getting some cool air. Such a blessing. I also dislike air conditioning as it has this artificial chill to me. Thats why we live where we do - no AC required.
Interesting about blood plasma in the heat. More reason to keep hydrated.
So I have been going to this cardiologist for a few months and they insist on weighing me. I have lost about 4 pounds. I have not been doing anything in particular except not eating when I am not hungry. What a concept!!Think I will go with it. I am happy with cold chicken for dinner if it has a blob of mayonnaise with it.
Our house looks like an exploded thrift store. Maybe I can get DH to start disposing of cardboard.
Our gigantic climbing rose bent over due to heavy blooms and rain. Its not dead - just reclining. Guess I have to cut it all back again - just when it got pretty.
I am blathering. Guess thats enough. Diane S
