Good morning, tribe ! Settling in to my new adventure. DD, yes, I do believe I've found a great place to kayak ! Doctor's Lake is off the St. John's river, which goes to the Atlantic. Whitey's Fish Camp is exactly that, with a fabulous restaurant to boot ! They do very reasonable rentals.

I did end up ordering progressive lens glasses for driving and more clearly seeing the TV channel guide. I should have them in two weeks.

Planning a trip to NY in early July to face the reality of what has been put in storage and what DC took to the dump. I'll decide what to keep in storage and what to move down here. My brother and his family are taking the RV and will enjoy it !

I'm sure there are a lot of issues, items to deal with. I'm glad picking your kayak spot is a done deal.

Off to Miami. Check in this evening.

My DD is on-board the plane for Aruba and we will pick her up in about 6 hours. Yes, this is the one with the broken hand. She and her splint will have a week here. Our activities will be a little different with her here. Not so much high-end dining out and we have a tour and sunset cruise booked on Monday and Wednesday.

We had another relaxing day here yesterday and a beautiful dinner at a restaurant on the water. Leftover grouper for lunch today!

Tonight we will likely be eating at our resort or next door as DD will likely be tired from her travels today.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Well the lift cable snapped! My dad was standing there when the boat crashed down, but wasn't hurt thank goodness. No joke, it could have killed someone. So that boat is out for the season.

Today I grocery shopped and did some weeding. It's very dry here (it's a drought, but having lived my whole life in Southern California, I appreciate how green and "not on fire" everything is during a MI drought. Though they aren't set up for irrigation with crops like CA is so it hurts the farmers here a lot).

Tonight is the pulled pork dinner. I think there are 12 of us? Should be fun and easy since everything just needs to reheat.

Now I'm just going to read a bit on a chaise in the shade. The channel fog horns are going off despite no fog today. At least I kind of like the sound!

Wishing you all nothing but good today!

Hi Everyone

Quick drive by here. A friend is coming over to see puppies. She talks so much my ears bleed! Fortunately most of it is funny.

We are preparing to take the pups outside for awhile. DH thinks that means mowing a spot and putting up a gold umbrella. Oh well. I will stay inside during this.

Chubby little Lizzo goes to her new home tomorrow. She is microchipped and has first shots and I must assemble all the papers and records.

Yesterday ended up being a mess. I had unexpected gallery duty and had to dash from one event to another. And I do not dash well. More like meander.

Cecily broken boat lift cable!!!!! What a fright. Who do you call to fix that? Glad no one was hurt. Pulled pork yum.

Lord I think I hear the power wash ranger again. What is so dang dirty? Does he not know we have a drought?

DianeO so glad you found your kayak spot and place to eat. Sounds like a great place to find some serenity.

I had scrambled eggs for dinner last night as DH had a sandwich from restaurant. I went to visit friend who had knee replaced. She is healing well enough but is really cranky from sitting around. DH took her husband out for respite. His two lunch buddies both have ailing wives for the moment so he should be grateful for me!!!

I so need to pick up the house but its so bad I don't know where to start. Oh well.

Uh oh, I hear the puppies waking up. And more laundry,

Diane S

I laughed when you described your ears bleeding. My brother is a big talker and I always say that I feel as if my ears are going to fall off after being with him for a while.

We are in a warming trend - triple digits for next week.

I was up and out to boot camp by 9 am this morning. Very nice boot camp routine today, but I realize more and more, I am not a morning workout person. My workouts are not nearly as efficient, nor do I seem to have the same level of strength in the morning. My trainer is toying with the idea of an evening boot camp. I'm all in for that!

Way too much on the recovery/food front to even begin discussing. More work going on there than I ever bargained for. I don't like it much, but I know how beneficial it will be in the long run. Even just writing what I just wrote here is raising my anxiety level. LOL!

Just more of the same here. The yard is in a constant state of evolution. Not a single thing has been completed and ticked off the list. Not one. Soon, I hope.
