We had Mexican last night at a place I had not been to previously but seemed to get good reviews. The food was much better than the TexMex place I have gone to in past visits. The Margarita was way too large (as the woman at the next table said, it looked like it was in a vase). They put it into a "to go" cup to take home. Half the chicken fajitas went home as well.

So in case you wondered, though I am at the beach all day here in Aruba, we are under an umbrella 90% of the time. The only time we aren't is when swimming or taking a walk. We usually walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Sunscreen is required at all times. I think Mike thought I was crazy when I was so adamant about that but he is a believer now.

Today is more of the same with dinner next to the water tonight. DD arrives for the week mid-day tomorrow so our schedule will vary a bit while she is here.

And did I mention that Mike has already booked a three week trip to Hawaii in January? I have never been there and he loves Hawaii so off we will go!

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Never been to Hawaii either! How fun that you and Mike are sharing your favorite places with each other. The picture of the margaritas did look like a vase!

I wrapped everything up at work, and now I'm home. I will wash all the sorrows and stress of this crazy 12 months off my soul in the Atlantic ocean when we get to Miami. Just sitting a spell on the front porch is already helping me unspool.

So today is pretty laid back, packing and tidy the house, but no real cleaning required because, one of mother days presents is a cleaning service is coming while I'm on vacation! Yeah! Return to a well cleaned home to start the rest of break.

Time to do a little laundry and get packing!

Weight: Whoa Nelly.

I didn't help the situation going out to lunch and ice cream with my Dad! One of our boats is on a lift that has been having major problems and now the cable is fraying and it's making terrible sounds. The boat is about 3000 pounds (1942 mahogany Chris Craft), so the thought of a 1/2 metal cable breaking under extreme tension and hitting someone in the legs is terrifying. So we went to Ludington to try to buy a new lift. With Covid aluminum is so scarce, they won't have any lifts available until next year! We may need to just pull that boat from the water for the season. A bummer. But we did have fun at lunch and put a deposit on a lift for next year, so not a total waste. We did split a very fattening sandwich and onion rings rather than getting our own (which I wouldn't have been able to finish anyway - I couldn't finish my half!), so at least some awful-but-not-as-awful-as-they-could-have-been food decisions were made.

After smoking and pulling a pork shoulder yesterday, I'm smoking beans right now. Bacon, 3 kinds of beans, onion, brown sugar, red peppers, jalapeños, bbq sauce, bourbon... delicious. One of the many reasons I tend to gain weight here!

I think that's all I've got! Have a great day, my friends!

It is weird how many materials are still in shortage. Your beans sound great!

Good morning all

Finished at the hairdressers & waiting for Costco to open. Then home to no power- thankful for our generator! They are estimating it will be back by 1pm tomm but Im very doubtful. Im thinking Tuesday at the earliest. Have to start collating the paperwork for our appointment with the financial planner Tuesday evening.

Will just potter and try to get organised. Cant do washing etc as too much load on the generator

I will pop back later x
