Just lost my post... Good old OH! I still can't post in the RNY forum. I contacted OH support and the person *****sponded had no clue and hasn't followed up.

Last night we had a great dinner at a romantic, long-established restaurant here. I have at least 2 lunches leftover from my meal.

I should be well rested but I am not because of last night's insomnia. I hate getting it when traveling as there is no where to go and sit up reading. A beach nap may have to happen today though I usually don't. Other than that the usual walking, swimming and reading are on the agenda for the day.

Tonight the weekly resort Karaoke party will occur. But if there is no beach nap I am not sure I will attend. It is fun to watch though I don't sing. Usually there is dancing though that technically isn't allowed yet.

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Interesting I should be the next to post, given the time. I guess the midwest and the east coast folks are quiet today, and it's still early for Shel.

Guess what? Now the phone isn't working! LOL! Looks like the fellow who came and fixed the wifi and tv cable lines messed up the one line that was working correctly! OMG! Waiting for a tech guy to come out. Smaller window this time. Will be here by 4pm.

Actually, I'm taking it all in stride. I'm doing a good job, I think, accepting the things I can not control - such as non working phone lines.

What I keep wondering about is the subconscious emotional life that is wrapped up in my obesity. I sometimes wish for the "good old JFDI days" - even though that didn't really work for me in the long run. Anyway, I realize that this is not a discussion for this board. Same old broken record, just a little farther along closer to the inner most grooves.

Construction progresses, oh, so slowly. Ron invited me to make a decision regarding the style of our outer, street facing fence on the the garage side of the house, saying that whatever I decided was fine. When I told him what I had decided, he clearly didn't like what I had decided, saying, "I can't believe you want that! When I said you could do what you wanted, I never would have imagined you would have gone that way." AFTER MAKING SURE I GOT HIS APPROVAL FOR THE FENCING STYLE, i went outside to show the guys. I looked at our contractor's son and asked him, "Are you married?" He said, "No." I replied, "Good. Keep it that way!"

I am looking forward to gardening when all is said and done. However, there will be the dreaded discussion about what plants and where. There are certain things I do not like doing as a team. Gardening decisions is one of them. We approach "design" very differently. Frankly, we approach many things differently. I chock it up to the opposites attract phenomenon.

Just got a call the technician for the phone line will be here in about 10 minutes. Gotta run!

Paul and I ALWAYS found construction projects incredibly stressful even though we had a very solid marriage. For better or for worse (sometimes we have to remind ourselves of that). Seriously though, I am guessing that it is harder than usual because you are both going through a period of change with Ron entering retirement and you working on finding your best way to being satisfied with yourself.

I knew I would be married to my husband forever when we did not have a fight wallpapering our kitchen when we were newlyweds. How? We were exceedingly, unusually polite to each other. Please pass me the smoother. Here it is dear. Why thank you. Could you hold up this corner please. Of course dear. Haha, home projects are very stressful.

Weight 186.2. Considering my eating this week, it could be worse!

The birthday meals were terrific. Wowzers, that meat was to die for.

Today I put together another rug (1 to go) and I'm smoking a 17.5lb pork shoulder. Not much to do, but put the rub on, set the temp and watch that the pellets don't get too low. Low effort cooking!

Did I mention the rash I got on my forehead and neck? It's heat/sun related, but I've had just about enough of looking like a pubescent teenager with out of control acne! This is day 6. I am pretty much using no products at the moment, but I am putting Benedryl cream on it, which seems to help with the itching and redness. Sensitive skin is the pits. Probably going from cloudy, cool, dry, smoggy April and May in CA to crystal clear air, sun and heat/humidity is a shock. Poking around online (paging Dr. Google) it sounds like people prone to hives get this a lot. Because hives isn't enough...

Otherwise, just hanging out here and staying in the shade! Hope everyone is well.

My mother (a dark redhead as a child) used to break out in rashes from the sun. Our family took a lot of beach vacations (which is probably why I am a beach person). While my Dad, my brother and I would develop great tans, my mother would sit at the beach under an umbrella with a huge hat on and towels completely enveloping her. And she still ended up with rashes (if not from the sun, from heat).

I eventually tan really well (though not as well as you!), but the older I get, I seem to have to pass through the early summer rash phase first. Usually it's on my legs and itches like crazy and looks like little blood dots under my skin (I guess burst capillaries?). This forehead/neck business is extra irritating because it just looks like bad zits!

Does not sound like fun! My daughter gets heat rash on her legs. Her doctor said it's from the heat radiating up from the pavement.

Good Morning All - I am heaving a HUGE TGIF - this week just keeps giving and not in a good way !!!!! On the good news front - we semi came out of lockdown at midnight last night - with a reduction in some restrictions. 25km rule still applies - so technically we are not allowed to go to the farm but after 3 weeks - we are taking the chance and going to check our cows. We had a huge storm as I mentioned and we have no power and unlikely to for 4-5 days - the substation has been trashed and the Telephone towers are out too. I went over and got my mum last night as we have a generator - wasnt having her sitting in a cold house. We are luckier than most to have the generator. I am helping one of the young guys from my work with some meals that can be heated on the stove and will drive him home this afternoon with a borrowed generator. We are in the dead of winter and its darn cold. Its been a challenge to get to work - I had 5 attempts to get out of our estate yesterday with trees down everywhere - madness!!

My boss is having a day off which is wonderful as he hasnt had a break in a long time. The install teams are on their way to a job and Im holding the fort back at the factory. We have a long weekend with a holiday Monday for Queens Birthday - but cant go anywhere so it will be frustrating for lots.

Love to you all - I had best go tackle my growing TO DO list

Will be back over the weekend

Your co worker probably can't believe the luck that you work with him, and are now loaning him a generator!
