Just another day in paradise here. It has been somewhat cloudy which is actually good because full sun in Aruba is tough to take. I am already getting slightly more tan even with a 30 sunblock on and sitting under an umbrella. Mike didn't fully believe me that a 30 was needed even with our level of tan but he does now.
DSD turned 48 yesterday. Hard to believe that my oldest is broaching 50 and my youngest is 30. Time is definitely marching along quickly and there isn't much more left to waste.
The Italian restaurant we went to last night was incredibly lovely with great service, food, and a phenomenal view. A not to miss place especially with a romantic partner. I will post a picture or two on FB.
As I mentioned yesterday, there is some filter on the RNY forum not letting me post - I assume it is because I am in Aruba. There used to be other people on there from other countries so I wonder if they are getting blocked too. I just reported it - it will be interesting to hear if they deal with this quickly (I am not holding my breath).
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Liz, your pictures are so lovely. Sounds like you are having a fabulous time ! Ceci, I know you'll get back in the groove ! Your gardening inspired me in my back yard. I have four trees in a line, then one more alone. They all had some degree of gypsy moss overgrowth as well as vines taking over. I thinned out the gypsy moss, pulled out and unwound the vines and pruned dead branches and stubs. Now, I've decided to weed one huge bed for the four trees, which I'll mulch. DD, thinking about you in your final days of this school year. Looking for a place to kayak here ! Shirl, so sorry about your lockdown, but your new job sounds like perfection ! Peps, your new stairs will be tons better than the original plan. Everything happens for a reason. Sorry about your ucky day, though. Diane, your house is going to be so quiet with the pups moving to their forever homes ! BB, see pictures on FB, but miss your voice here.

Well, somebody somewhere is trying to send me some kind of message. After the blown tire incident, missing the vet, rethinking steps from upper to lower levels of yard....
New vacuum arrived from Amazon, but it wasn't new. It was clearly used and repacked. The canister was dirty and there was hair wrapped around the roller brush. I used it anyway, because the house desperately need a vacuuming. Contacted Amazon this morning. They didn't offer a reduced price, which surprised me, but started a return. I went with the return. Will now have to order another vacuum. So, not a big deal, but an annoying hassle.
Next, while vacuuming my little toe caught on the foot of an ottoman. The toenail bent straight back off the nail bed and became a rivulet of blood. I knew I had hit my toe, but it didn't hurt terribly, so I didn't notice how bad it was until I realized there was something sticky on my flip flop. This morning the nail is a pretty purple.
The cherry on the parfait of me day, you ask? After 12 weeks of no seizures, Lucky had a seizure. Boooooooo!
Happily, I took most of it in stride until Lucky seized. Then I was done. I would very much appreciate the string of little negative things to stop piling up. In isolation, they are fine. However, the continual pile up is getting to me.
Needless to say, I fed my stress. Keebler Elves were involved. Sigh....
I think you have had enough for now. Tell those elves to bring you better luck!

Weight: I forgot. Probably because I didn't want to know! Hormonal eating should start to subside.
Today is cooler with an endless stream of fast moving fog blowing in off the lake. But it's clear about 1000 ft inland. It's pretty and eerie at the same time.
I felt yucky yesterday (headache, dragging), but still managed to look up and see it was 3am and I'd been reading nonstop. I love getting so lost in a book I lose track of time. And feel lucky to not have had to get up to go to work after doing that...
More of the same minus the yucky today. Tonight I need to make my Dad's favorite brownies for his birthday tomorrow. He's turning 80! I feel so blessed to still have him with me. He had less than a 15% chance of making it to 5 years and he's past 6 and feels great. My uncle (father of my cousins, divorced from my Dad's sister who is now in late-stage dementia) passed away from cancer yesterday morning. Life is so fleeting. If not now, when? is indeed an excellent motto to live by.
I was thinking reading posts this week how lucky we all are to be as mobile and motivated to tackle life as we are - home projects, dog wrangling, gardening, farming, kayaking, travel, babies and toddlers, golfing. We're all doing pretty darned well!
Well I always wanted to live somewhere warm, another 90 plus day, records shattering everywhere. It was 95 and humid, but I needed to plant some bedding plants and our yard is shaded, nice breeze. Made good progress, I felt fine until I started to see spots and staggered a little. Whew. Sat a spell in the Adirondack chair, had some water and all was well again. I've never fainted, but that was pretty close.
So all you gardeners, watch the humidity: I'm looking at you Ocean Diane.
Cecily I love that fog effect you describe. My Dad grew up in Duluth with a view of Lake Superior from his front porch. His family was poor, but he always says, we had a million dollar view. I spent huge chunks of my childhood there with Grandmas, Aunts, Uncles,Cousins. The great lakes are amazing. When I bring visitors to Minnesota up to Duluth, they are amazed by our inland sea. I was somewhat astonished though, the first time I swam in Lake Michigan. It was somewhat hospitable, whereas Lake Superior seems like it might just take you down, never turn your back on Superior.
