VSG Maintenance Group
Monday June 7, 2021
Two days into our vacation and we already got sort of lazy last night and didn't go out as planned. Instead we listened to music at our resort and had leftovers from Saturday night. I was exhausted from my foray to the food store here. I made the mistake of going to the larger one which I usually don't frequent. There were way too many people and it was too hard to find anything. What should have taken 1/2 hour took 3 times longer. At least the base shopping is done and I will go to the smaller store for any additional food needed. I try to have breakfast and lunch in our room and just go out at dinner.
I have booked dinner out at one of my favorite spots for Wednesday and booked a couple of excursions requested by DD for next week (she arrives Saturday). That's it so far. I shall finish my coffee and make one of the two decisions of the day: which direction to walk on the beach (the second is where to go to dinner).
Have a safe and healthy Monday!

Really weird that I can post here but not on the RNY forum.

Weight: Argh. I need to stop stuffing myself once a month!
After exhausting myself on the rug assembly, I had an early night. My fingers are so swollen and sore! Not that it required a lot of finger activity like the weeding, but obviously a lot of hand use. I think I have jumped headlong into arthritis. Thankfully it's not affecting my thumbs, the palm/back, or big knuckles. Just fingers. I was having trouble tying my pant drawstring and I can't make a fist. Aging is not always fun!
No big plans for today. I think I'm taking a day off from rugs and gardening! Maybe reading and a walk...
What a day this has been.... What a rare mood I"m in.... Why it's almost like being just CURSED!
LOL
Seriously, I started the day in a lovely mood. The weather is positively gorgeous - blue skies, a good stiff, but intermittent breeze and temps in the mid 70s. My beloved veterinarian squeezed us in for an emergency appointment to examine Lucky and then prescribe enough meds for the entire pack who are battle the diarrhea monster. I loaded Lucky up and off we went. 5 minutes in to the drive I passed wind, that really wasn't. Can you say shart? UGH... Pulled over and cleaned up. No deets there - use your imagination! Let's just say I am boy scout prepared, so it wasn't really a big deal other than being embarrassing and a nuisance. Then off on my merry way I went again. Less than two minutes later my front right tire blew! Need I say more... No vet visit, waited for AAA (who came and got me set in under 30 minutes), tire has been ordered and will be put on tomorrow (this of course coming after making an appt. at the tire store only to get there to find they don't have the tire in stock...)
We will have to change out the steps that have already been laid. There are no more blocks to be found. It's a 10+ week wait. The new plan is one I like better.
If not, when? Kind of my attitude today, too. So, I'm doing what I can to lower the calorie intake, up the water, etc....
I was doing really well when I got up this morning, and I'm not letting the day get to me, but I am feeling a bit of emotion rolling in then retreating. Oh well....
On a happy note, my new Shark vacuum arrived today! Hope it's all it's supposed to be!
Today in between writing tasks I decided to tackle some organizational /cleaning tasks in my classroom. I started with a small bookcase. Things I could toss went in recycling bin or garbage. But tell me, what am I supposed to do with 8 Webster Dictionaries? I can't toss them, because the district owns them. But let's face it, no one is EVER going to use them again. So many decisions to make everyday.
Hot, hot, hot, 95 degrees, again here.
3 more student contact days, 1 workshop day, and goodbye 2020/2021 academic year.
