Weight 185.2 Oops

I've been ravenous the last few days. I'm going with hormonal munchies.

Yesterday I washed all my windows inside and outside and washed all the screens and sills. Took all day. And for the outside ones, the painters had been really sloppy with overspray, so every window had to be scraped with a glass scraper razor blade. But gosh, they look fabulous. From inside, it's like there isn't even glass there. I'm afraid this is going to lead to bird accidents, but for the moment I'm enjoying the crystal clear views.

Nothing planned for today. I may put together a rug, I may not. Reading and some outdoor lounge time is in order. And sprinkling some deer repellent in the planter I finished and a deer enjoyed last night. So pretty and so destructive!

I hope everyone is well and having a great day whether it's traveling, doing chores, lounging, or working!

It's amazing how much light comes in after you clean a window that didn't even seem that dirty. But what a chore!

We were having such fun sitting on our friends deck, that when one of us thought to check the time it was 1:30am!!!!! We got home and into bed a bit before 2:30am, but it really threw me off and I slept fitfully for about 6 hours. There will be a nap this afternoon.

Other than napping, my goal for the day is to get some groceries into the house.

Breaking record highs all over the place here. In western Minnesota there were temps over 100. Morning watering of flowers completed. I tried to read the paper on the porch, but the wind really picked up. Blowing east, it's on its way to Michigan, hopefully cooling as it crosses the big lake. Cecily, the great lakes are really good at keeping things temperate. In the midst of this heat, a town, Grand Marais, right on Lake Superior near the Canadian border was 56 degrees yesterday. There's probably not a hotel room or camp site or maybe even a parking spot available as people flock to the lakeside air conditioning.

So much interesting discussion in yesterday's thread. Life changes and readjusting our goals and expectations. I guess I'm in the camp with DD that "If not now, when?".

Travel to Aruba was very smooth and yesterday felt almost 100% like normal other than masks at times (similar to Massachusetts 2 weeks ago). Almost all the usual friends are here!!!! And Mike likes it so far. I am getting a car in a few minutes and will go food shopping, then take Mike for a little tour. I think we are going to a local pier for dinner and music tonight.

Thats it from here - stay safe, healthy and cool!

Sadie and I are adjusting to our new normal. I start the day with coffee on the screened porch then we go for a walk. I picked up a couple of things at the hardware store and came home and trimmed and mulched two trees out front. Tomorrow, it is four in the back and I'll add solar lights, for night time twinkles. I love reading all of your posts !!

Happy Monday from Australia

Just back from walking to collect one of the work 4WD from its 1,000km service. Only 1.8 miles but I moved fast as the wind is bitter today. Im back at my desk and eating my lunch. All the guys are out on a big job today so its just me here. Kinda nice way to start the week.

Had a nice weekend. Hectic Friday and then did Groceries. We are still in lockdown so it was spent at home. Cleaned the house, washed and sorted. We also got the over fridge cupboard put together and installed plus the last skirting board. Made a delicious Roast Pork dinner - with lots of extra meals for my mum and our freezer. Sunday was front garden trimming and I cleaned my car inside and out as it was a pig. Made Choc Chip Cookies - and froze most of them - brought some in for all the guys for their morning Tea. Best out of my way - though I have consumed way too many already. Need to hop on the scales.

Not much planned for tonight. No cooking this week - due to so many meals in the freezer so I might continue to clean out drawers and sort if I have the energy when I get home....

Cec - Rugs are looking fabulous :) Want to fly over and do our windows please ! Its on my list...... Those darn deer ! Undoing all your had work

Liz - Glad you are in Aruba safely and Mike is enjoying it

DD- A loss in tracking time is always the sign of a wonderful catchup :) So happy to read this. Loved your porch pictures - looks so serene

Diane O - You are in my thoughts all of the time. Glad you are settling into a new normal and routine.
