Good Morning All - peeking in and thought I would start todays post..... Give you a break Liz :)

Another busy but productive day is drawing to a close for me. It brought the news that we will be extending our lockdown for another 7 days in order to try and contain this outbreak. Sadly its reached 2 aged care homes and 2 residents have been taken to hospital. Its our 4th one so we know what to do. Hoping next Friday brings good news

Did exercise class tonight (thankful they can still run) and he worked us harder. Had me doing sets of 10 - deadlifting around 92lbs. Its a chore in a mask but good to get done.

Wanted to thank you all for your care & kindness - we are all there for each other no matter what this world sends our way. Our ups and downs, our joys and triumphs, our heartache and pain. Im proud to be a part of this group xx

Have a wonderful day all and stay safe

Thank you, thank you, thank you for starting us!

I was just reading about Australia's vaccination rate and was surprised that it is so low. Thank goodness they have a strong lockdown program even though it is painful for the citizens. Once there is enough vaccine available I bet that Aussie strength and ingenuity will get it out to everyone quickly.

I need to get back into yoga - my lower back has been stiff in the mornings. And I need to get on a better food plan than my current non-tracking mode. After Aruba I guess.

Yesterday we hiked through dunes next to the ocean, then sat on the pond beach around the corner reading. I thought there would be an ocean breeze where we hiked but it ended up being pretty warm especially since the paths were all soft sand which takes a lot of effort to hike in. Today Justice has his 2 week post-tooth extraction checkup and we need to get Covid tested for our Aruba trip. The sun is out again, so we might Kayak this afternoon.

DS returned home last night and DSD wants to go out to dinner at a great seasonal restaurant here that specializes in oysters. So it will be a fairly full day.

I started on new meds for my HBP yesterday and this morning my BP was lower than it has been for quite a while. Hopefully it will continue to go down. I wish I still had the super low pressure that I had for a year after surgery but that effect seems to be gone now. Though I am sure it would be worse if I was at my former weight!

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Weight 184.

I had a cinnamon roll for breakfast. It wasn't very good. I wish I hadn't continued eating it! What a disappointing use of a lot of calories!

7 pots of flowers are planted. Now I just have the one bed to contend with - it needs some weeding and 6 gallon-sized plants planted.

It was a not-freezing night, so we had a campfire on the patio last night. The neighbors came over to look at our firepit (if you're in the market for one, it's called a Solo Stove and it magically contains the smoke from a wood-burning fire. Highly recommend!) and hung out for a while.

Not an exciting post, I'm afraid! I hope you all have fun days!

Greetings all

Lordy its a zoo here. Housekeeper is here and the pups are fussing. Beyonce figured a new way to get out of the whelping box. Must come up with a new arrangement. They want out all the time now!

Wishing everyone well. Liz safe travels. DianeO enjoy the sun and warmth and your new home. And paddling.

Shirley 92 pound lift?? You are wonder woman!

Trip to the grocery today. I keep thinking I have all this stuff to do and then when I make a list its not that bad. Note to self" make more lists.

Peps, sorry the dog show was so hot. Ick. Glad you left early. Hope there was some fun.

I am trying to get these puppies ready to launch.

This afternoons additional mission: throw old food out of the refrigerator for the trash pick up tomorrow. Yeah I know its bad to waste stuff - the politically correct police say its bad because food in the land fill creates green house gases. Great. Another thing to feel guilty about.

Two days of gallery duty in a row starting tomorrow so I may be absent. Think of me sweeping up "pink snow" - all the cherry blossoms that fall around this time of year and end up inside our building.

Played scrabble live yesterday. Came home with a homegrown artichoke and lemon. whoo hoo

Take care all. Diane S

Hi everyone! Savoring the beautiful weather we are having here in Minneapolis. I had a very tumultuous day at work yesterday, but DH made it all better, as we went and had pedicures and then dinner on the patio of our favorite local restaurant.

Today was calmer and I was more centered, and enjoyed half of my salad from the night before for lunch. I went shopping after work and found one new top. When I got home DH grilled steaks and we finished the bottle of wine we opened on our porch as the sun set. I'm feeling very content now, and the stress headache I had yesterday is long gone.

Liz, I am having blood pressure issues again too. I was on medication before surgery, and like you, it plummeted after surgery, and was in the normal range for about 7-8 years. But it has been high the last 3 visits. Sigh. Do you have a home blood pressure device you find reliable? At first I thought I was having white coat syndrome, but now I'm feeling like maybe my blood pressure really is elevated again. I am getting headaches whenever I get really stressed, and I can hear my pulse in my ears. Ha, as I type this, I'm thinking, good grief, you need to exercise and do some meditation girl, that's not sounding too healthy!

Yesterday and today is the first time in awhile I've felt peaceful with food, and that everything I ate was both yummy and good fuel for a good life. I need to string a few such days together. The quest for balance continues.

Something I learned from a nurse at one of my doctors, if you carry weight in your arms like me, the "normal" length bp cuff will give me a high reading every time. But with the large cuff, it reads totally normal. I just ask for the big cuff now.

Me too. Even at my very lowest weight. And I think I get weirder readings with the automatic machine. I think the fat and loose skin interfer with the machine hearing it. But the last few readings were manual, big cuff. :(
