It is June already! The sun is finally out after several raw, wet days. Unfortunately those days mostly had drizzle and not downpours so it is very dry here. If we had to sacrifice the sun at least we should have had significant rain!
It is interesting to go out in a state with no Covid restrictions. The restaurant we went to for lunch on Sunday had removed all the plexiglass partitions. I didn't expect a full removal that quickly (the restriction lift began the day before). Pretty much everyone was maskless. The smaller stores I browsed mostly had workers with no masks and the people browsing were 50/50. TJ Maxx has retained the mask rule for both workers and customers. In some stores I felt like the minority without a mask but in others I was in the majority. I think it will take time for people to get used to this. DSD said that many people didn't have masks on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, though it is required by federal statute on public transportation. Regardless we will have to carry a mask at all times right now.
Time to figure out what the day will include. It is our only day this week with no appointments.
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Weight 183.2 Food is back to good and certainly there is exercise in the form of manual labor!
The window boxes are planted! Today I might tackle the one flower bed that seems to escape the deer onslaught the best. I bought some pretty flowering perennials to fill in the bare spots. I also need to get the drip system rehooked up in the veggie garden. I've just been sprinkling seeds with the hose.
It's very bright and sunny today and should reach into the 60s. We're headed for the low 80s by the weekend.
Shirl, I'm so relieved that you love your job and so sorry you have had to enter another lockdown.
Peps, how are you doing? How is the yard coming along?
Liz, I hope you have a terrific time in Aruba! Do you have cicadas in MA? I think that would freak me out!
DianeO, thinking of you and so glad you've been surrounded by family.
DianeS, your posts always crack me up. Enjoy the last days of puppies!
DD, do some kayak floating for me!
Bonnie, your Memorial Day pictures were terrific. Such a pretty family.
Hello to all who follow but don't post. You should! You're always welcome.
I am popping up for air! I have been very up and down the past weeks. Not sure what gives. However, whatever it is that ails me pales in comparison to our friend's current woes, so I am counting my blessings.
My fun weekend was cut short because of user error! LOL! I made a rookie RV mistake and arrived at the dog show with an extremely low tank of gas. As a result the generator wouldn't kick on, which meant no AC for the weekend. I was parked in the absolute worst place on the fairgrounds, without power, on bare dirt with no trees. It was too miserable to manage for another day and with 100+ temps forecast for yesterday, I came home on Sunday evening.
Contractors only worked 3 days last week. They have not arrived for work today. Hmmmm....
Taking 2 dogs to vet today for annual exams/vaccines.
Weight is up a couple of pounds, but still below panic range.
I saw a pic snapped of me this weekend and I just about crapped my pants and felt like crying. But I took a deep breath and powered through. The inner pain is real, but strangely not enough to instigate change. I am very much at a throwing my hands up in frustration point and just accepting fat is where it's at for me. I'm just absolutely perplexed at how f'd up I am in this area of my life. I go to two different therapists, work out, but still am not able to manage to lose 10 pounds and keep it off. Yes, I am feeling upset and disappointed with myself.
Have a workout scheduled today at 5. Hoping it's not as hot as yesterday given that my workout space is not air conditioned. I want to work on some flexibility this summer. I have noticed that my hamstrings are really quite tight and flopping over to pick something up off the ground is not easy the way it used to be. Not sure if it's just the hamstrings or if the excess weight is playing into the flexibility, too.
California's COVID restrictions are supposed to relax on June 15. In my area I don't think we'll see much difference, except in outdoor mask wearing. I think most establishments will continue to require masks upon entry.
Hello my fabulous friends. Back in FL and feeling warmth and peace. Went shopping today for new sheets and bedspread and am putting together bar stools for kitchen counter. DSIL flies down Thursday for truck and Atlas. My sweet baby will be the hardest part. My days of enabling are over and I'm moving forward, stronger and wiser. Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries. Enforce them ! Love you all !
