It is cold, wet and raw out! It is currently 45 but feels like 35. Even Justice isn't thrilled with the idea of going out. I am wearing my fuzzy Ugg slippers and have the gas fireplace on.

Today's tasks will include laundry, bill paying, getting a beach sticker, and possibly a trip to the store for vegetables to go with the swordfish I bought yesterday.

But one week from today we will be at the airport getting ready to fly to Aruba. Yeah! We have to be Covid tested on Wednesday and the same to return to the US.

DD is doing well with her hand. She said it started hurting just about 24 hours after she received the nerve block. Luckily the over the counter medications seem to work well enough.

Have a safe, healthy and warm start to the holiday weekend!

Bright blue skies and sparkling new green leaves today! View of the sparkle from my chair this morning...

High in the high 50s, whew. I finished my weed pulling!!! Which was in the nick of time because my fingers are swollen, stiff and oh so sore this morning. I also hacked some 9 foot viburnums in half and hauled all the branches to the back of the property where we throw all that stuff. Big job, but looks so much better. I might do some planting today and I imagine there will be boat rides I can be part of if so choose.

Off to get started on the day... Big hug to all.

Sunshine and warmer temps here today. Weather forecasts predict that today will be the best day of Memorial Day Weekend. My son is camping with friends (brrrr!), DD will be heading to Chicago tomorrow, DH has to work, but he does have Monday off. I LOVE having daughter here, she's an ideal roommate, but I am looking forward to some days just DH and me.

Liz it's nice to know even in the bad weather, you are nice and snug. Cecily, New leaves always make me think of Robert Frost's poem, Nothing Gold Can Stay... Nature's first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold.. enjoy the green gold days.

I'm going to get dressed and drive out to my parents lake home and hang out with my Mom and Aussie sister. Where I will think of Shirl as I drink a cuppa.

Greetings all

Today we had a long visit from puppy viewers. One will be adopting Walter and taking him to SF. She is a fun energetic person and clipped all the toenails on all five pups! Walter will have a great life. The pups loved having visitors as did the older dogs. But I am worn out. I had not eaten anything and was sneaking into the kitchen for bites of cheese.

Most of our activity revolves around the puppies and their excrement. I am making some decisions about who goes where.

Swordfish sounds good Liz. I fear I have missed the local halibut season. So sorry for DD's hand issue. I have had multiple hand surgeries and it will get better pretty fast. I used to wear an old sock over my hand with the heel cut out for my thumb as I got more mobile.

Cecily you are so industrious. Whip that garden into shape. My tomato plants appear to be stunted. Don't know why I bother with them. And I gotta get some Sluggo as the snails and slugs eat everything. Nothing escapes them.

Some tough news for DianeM on facebook TT. We will all be thinking of her.

Phew I feel like a nap. Having to be social and polite for 3 hours really wears me out.

Got shots for the pups yesterday and begged for health cert appointments for the two who will leave on airplanes.

Hmm, my neighbors are having a party. Must be playing yard games. Good for them. We have nothing planned this weekend. We were going to go to friends but she is getting a knee replaced and they bumped up the date. So glad its getting done.

This is national doctors apt month. Internist, cardiologist and the annual tit in a ringer event. Stuff has been all backed up for over a year. I have been ordered back to the swimming pool.

Pups are asleep. Life is good.

You need a new vet. For f*&k's sake! If the pups got vaccinated and examined that's all you need for the damn health certificates. Of course, there is the time frame.... but geez.....

Hi- Im wayyyy late but popping in on my Sunday night. Lockdown continues and we have been super productive at City house. Veggie beds have roadbase now & all waterers are buried. Chook house clean & lawns mowed. House is clean & all washing done. I tidied front plants, repotted & trimmed driveway plants. Looks so much better. Compost is full as is green waste bin. Very cold overnight but lovely autumn days so its lovely to be outside. Im showered, dinner is done, kitchen clean & I dont think I will be long out of bed. Work tommorrow- we are on the approved list.

Need to make an apt for Bella- shes having episodes of shaking- my worry is this is her cancer taking hold. We have had her inside by the fire & are spoiling her lots. Ive kept my sons updated. Not looking forward to this next journey with her but wont let her suffer. DH is working from home this week so can watch her

Hugs to you all xx Im thankful to have you all in my life

Poor Bella. Of course you will make sure she feels well loved and taken care of.
