It is almost Memorial Day weekend, typically the start of summer on Cape Cod. Today is also the last day of state mandated Covid restrictions in Massachusetts (though businesses have the right to impose them). Should be interesting to see what changes. We have rain in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday so that may dampen enthusiasm here. My only plans right now are to get my beach sticker at the bathhouse tomorrow (I had to get it by mail last year) and listen to music at the restaurant around the corner. We are planning to barbecue at home to avoid potential crowds.

DD's hand surgery was uneventful yesterday. I left just before 10 am and was back by 7 pm. I couldn't go in with her or wait there so I hung out in her apartment. She came home with a nerve block making her entire arm non-functional and she was a bit goofy so I stayed with her until a friend came to stay with her. I hope she isn't too uncomfortable today because she chose to only use over the counter pain medication.

Today we have nothing specific planned other than picking up food for the weekend and visiting with neighbors in the early evening. Feels like a normal Memorial Weekend!

High 40's today ("feels like" is 36 right now), but it's not raining or super windy which is an improvement over yesterday! I think I'll finish pulling my weeds and maybe plant some seeds, but not any plants yet. Edit: just went outside and I take it back, it's freezing and windy!

It is warmer here Cecily, because the weather we had yesterday blew east, and is with you! Only 50s here today, but less wind and more sun.

Massage was incredible!! Feeling noodlely and relaxed. Quick dinner at Panera with DH, and when I got home DD had tidied up the messy kitchen.

Surprise visit from my Aussie Sister!!!! She is at my parents house, and spending the weekend with my Mom. So now I get the best of the weekend, I have time to take care of some things at home, and I can go hang out with my sis and Mom for the day. Exhale with an extra side of relief. I think I'll get the refuel I need to propel me through the next two weeks.

Liz, I hope your daughter's recovery is smooth and she is comfortable. I never turn down the big gun painkillers, but find I generally don't need them very long.
