Wow, May is marching on! DD, Amazon is my go to for lots of things too especially odd items like you. I think I have a delivery coming each day this week, LOL!
We went to the driving range yesterday and I tried to re-remember what I learned in my lessons. Not easy... especially when surrounded by the high school girls golf team who looked like the were born to swing a club!
This morning I am all achy - even my hands so I don't think the driving range was the cause. Maybe the diuretic? Or maybe having to get up at 2 am to take Justice out? He has been on soft food since his tooth extractions and I caught him eating the cat's dry food the other day. So I did a calculation of calories in canned vs dry dog food and realized that I was greatly under feeding him. So I upped the food and of course since his body isn't used to that much canned food at one time he had to go out in the middle of the night. Always a joy to wake up to a little dog prancing around on top of one.
Today we are going to Mike's so he can do a couple of maintenance things at the house, we can walk on the beach, and we will go out to lunch on the way back. That will be our main meal. We have been rating the clam chowder at restaurants known for it and this one is the next in the list. Just so you know, Mike orders the chowder and I just taste it. it is supposed to be 90 on the "mainland" today but will be mid-70's here. Might be time to wear shorts again.
Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Weight 186.4. Food has been okay. Hard to track dinners, so I'm tracking the rest of the day so I can be mindful of how much I eat at dinner. Definitely getting a workout weeding.
Four boxes down, 4 to go. It's not been quite as hard as I thought! With earphones in and good music, you get into a weed pulling rhythm... There's weed fabric under the paths, but I think it just makes things worse as weed roots still grow through the fabric making them harder to pull and ultimately pulling it all up when you do get hold of one. Note to others, avoid weed fabric!
We had wonderful thunderstorms last night. They are so rare in So Cal, it's a treat to get them here. Today is bright and sunny and won't get over 61. Perfect. I do need to get to the nurseries today or tomorrow as unlike CA, they pretty much grow/order one batch for the season and that's all you get to choose from as the buyer population is so much smaller and the growing season so short, they don't want to get stuck with unsold plants. So by Memorial Day, things are starting to get picked over. In CA, it's a constant stream of new plants as there is never a time you can't plant them. But I'd much rather garden here!
Sitting in my living room, I'm working up an idea to rework the fireplace wall. It has cabinets I don't use and really ugly faux rock around the fireplace and no place for a tv big enough that I can see it across the room. I'm thinking of having it all ripped out, a new hearth built as the fireplace is high in the wall, a new mantle, new material surrounding the fireplace and no cabinets. Only potential pitfall I can see is where the flooring ends. They might go all the way to the wall under the cabinets because the floors are original (cabinets are not), or they might stop awkwardly and be difficult to match. Hmmm. Fun to think about, but it wouldn't get done until the winter. I'm also going to replace all the rugs in the house and get new window coverings put in. That can happen this summer.
Enough stalling, time to get back to weed pulling.
The joy of home improvements!

Greetings All
Today's mission: locate fresh goat milk. The puppies love it over their dry food and I hate mixing up the powdered stuff. Local store had none so I went to another of the hippie grocery stores in Arcata. Score. Also my favorite cheese. And I also did banking for one of the galleries since there was a big amount of cash purchases and we don't like it sitting around. There was a nearby store where the owner got robbed as he was closing up for the evening. I try to be irregular in when I take money in and try to blend in with he crazies so I don't get robbed. So far so good.
Chowder investigation!! Great idea. Tell us Liz when you decide which is best. Is New England the white or the orange. I forgot. There are razor clams out here that one can go dig but too much work for me.
The puppies are now to wiggly to weigh them in a basket on the food scale. So DH has some new gadget that is sort of a sling. I am not holding out much hope for its efficacy. Pups are quiet now and I will leave them sleeping. One new owner from SF is coming up here for the holiday weekend and will be visiting her pup Walter. I have invited many friends to come see them but most don't want to because they think I am going to try to dump a puppy on them.
Ceci that looks like a great garden. Yeah weed cloth is useless in the long run. Hope you plant lots of cool stuff. I want to do green beans this year after last years deluge of snow peas.
Another doctor apt tomorrow so the repeat annoyance of being weighed. Oh well.
Not much else. Making puppy meals and then dealing with the aftermath.

New England Clam Chowder (aka "Chowda") is cream based or white. Manhattan style is orange (no cream so probably healthier). Yesterday's try tied for first. We have at least two places on the Cape that we think could vie for first but they haven't been open during the week yet. Then we may venture to Boston to some highly rated places.

Good Morning All
Popping in mid morning to say a quick hi - have a couple of meetings starting in 15 mins. Boss isnt back so hoping he makes it !
Weight up this am due to TTOM ugggg
Exercise class was good last night - he did a fitness test and I had told him I am VERY unfit. He disagreed - who knew that all the running around and farm work would be helping me - guess I just never really stopped to think about it. I was able to deadlift 110lbs x 3 so that was a bit of a shock.... Hardest thing was working out in a mask - so hot!
Im sad to say we are facing our 4th lockdown :( There has been a case of the Indian variant that came over from South Australia. There has been a person out in the community for 10+ days and its spread like wildfire. We have 26 cases and over 80 exposure sites including stadiums and large shopping centres - awaiting an announcement - ugggggggg
Liz - hope you are not coming down with something. Enjoy the chowder - I tried some in SF and loved it
Cec - Beds are looking wonderful :) Love hearing about renovations
Diane S - Those puppies are just the best time wasters :) I wouldnt get a thing done!
DD & Peps - Nearly at the end of the year for you - hang in there
I had best get going so Im prepared for my meeting
Have a wonderful evening all
S
I am not surprised at your fitness level - I would be surprised if you weren't very fit given all that you do.

It's been a busier start to the week than expected. So looking forward to the 3 day weekend. I want to go to see Cruella in a real movie theater! DD is going to Chicago for 11 days. Since she is a vegetarian, our dinners (and subsequent leftovers) tilt more carby than I used to eat, more pasta for sure. Another opportunity to try and get back to a more protein focused plan ...
Yep, I need to get back to higher protein as well. Chowder tests don't help...
