It is sunny and warm right now (mid 70's). Yesterday it was in the 80's on the "mainland", but low 60's on Cape Cod. It feels like summer! This is the time of year when it is wonderful to sit on the deck and listen to the birds though the pollen level is a bit outrageous.
I got a lot done yesterday even after power washing and planting. I also cleaned out a couple of drawers and determined that there is NO possibility of creating a walk-in closet in my room and retaining the antique Persian rug in the room. The rug stays and the spare room can handle the overflow clothing as it has up to now.
Today we are going to a great seafood restaurant on a harbor with DD and her BF after Mike returns from golfing. He left around 5:45 this morning which gives me a quiet morning but he gets to do his thing. He is golfing again tomorrow and maybe we will go to an easy course together on Wednesday.
Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

It was very beautiful here yesterday. Like you Liz, I was surrounded by bird song. A hot day in May gives a rare gift, a chance to sit outdoors after dark without being devoured by mosquitos.
I got some more bedding plants that hopefully go in the ground today. Looking forward to being able to have cut flowers in a month or so.
I'm so hungry, like ravenous, I'd eat plain canned tuna hungry. I'm wondering if it's the Tamoxifen. I'm trying to answer it with high quality food. My WLS clinic has added a bariatric doctor who is not a surgeon, I'm presuming to have more medical help for post surgery. I may need to visit.
So question, and I am sincerely seeking opinions and won't be offended. Since I am fully vaccinated, I am no longer wearing my mask, unless the location requires it. If so, no problem. But if Target, Costco etc aren't requiring masks, I'm not wearing them. Many of my friends are still choosing to wear masks. Am I misunderstanding the science? I choose not to wear a mask because I thought even if I did get a breakthrough infection, I would not have enough viral load to infect someone. So I can't hurt someone else by not wearing a mask. I also think there could come a time when a variant appears that would require me to mask up again. So where are you all at on this journey?
I find the mask wearing issue confusing myself. In CA we are still required to wear masks in public at all times, vaccinated or not. however, that is all supposed to change on June 15, when all covid restrictions are lifted in CA.
My understanding of vaccination is different from yours. It is my understanding that should one be fully vaccinated, but still contract a "break through" infection, you are able to spread that infection just the same as if you were not vaccinated. There will be a small group of people who will contract the virus even though vaccinated, just like with the flu vaccine. If you have the flu, vaccinated or not, you are able to transmit the flu virus to others. My understanding is that Covid will be the same. What the vaccination will do in the case of a "break through" infection is keep the patient out of the hospital by lessening the effects of the virus.
I am perfectly comfortable going without a mask at this point and do so in the appropriate situations. If Costco let me in without a mask on, I'd go mask-less.
Greetings from Chez Chien
I feel like I am running a restaurant/boarding house for dogs. The puppies are always hungry, Tesla is always hungry and Chip is real picky. So I spend all my time softening puppy kibble, getting goats milk heated, cleaning up pup food cans, cooking rice and chicken, doing dishes, washing puppy bedding and on and on. Geez, what a life. I don't remember it being this much work but I don't remember a lot of things.
DH comes home tomorrow afternoon and I will gladly surrender early morning pup duty. Its been nice to do everything my own way while he has been gone but....
DD I don't blame you for not wearing mask. I do so when in a store as most here require it. But I don't in my home. It sure is annoying.
I have been eating deli chicken salad and such with dh gone. Its been a relief not to have to think of something for dinner each night. I plan to rely more on that deli. I find I am really not snacking much with DH gone.
Except I found this new terrible thing at one store. Candied Bacon!!!! Do not buy any!!
Later
diane s
Yeah, candied bacon is definitely dangerous!
