Diane O, I can only say EEEK to snakes in the AC!

It is almost 12:30! I can't believe I am starting this while eating 1/2 of a sandwich for brunch. Thank god for VSG or I would be putting on lots of pounds these days. But DS made a fantastic fairly light meal last night - Cauliflower steaks. Really different and super tasty. He has really loosened up this week which has been a real joy.

So two family members are recuperating. DD broke her finger on her dominant right hand (in her first softball game in years) and will be in a cast for 4-6 weeks. Justice had 8 teeth pulled - apparently it was kind of odd that they were almost entirely on one side. He was pretty goofy and uncomfortable yesterday but slept heavily and ate soft food well this morning. He will be on what appears to be essentially dog ibuprofen for a few days but his remaining teeth cleaned up really well and his gums are in good shape.

We are at Mike's home to meet the sprinkler guy and to get things for Mikes daughter who is moving tomorrow. A beach walk will likely be in the mix as well. We are meeting Mike's two sisters for dinner this evening. They haven't seen each other since September.

Diane C and Devon, good luck with the remaining days of school. I remember how little kids can focus at this point.

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Welcome to Florida! Snakes in the AC! Oh, joy! Are you rethinking Florida??? LOL! It's really funny, but coyotes, bobcats, and cougars, and even rattlesnakes don't bother me all that much. But an alligator.... NO WAY! That little prehistoric brain makes them non thinking eating machines..... (I should come clean though that I have rattlesnake concerns for the dogs.... just not so much for me.)

Liz, so glad DS is relaxing! You are still so busy! What's it going to take to get you to slow down a little? LOL!

The work continues in the backyard. I am impressed by how meticulous the workers are. French drains have been installed all along the bottom wall (which is 65 feet long) and a drain has been installed that empties into the creek at the back and low end of the yard. Unless you know that the work was done yesterday, you'd have a hard time finding evidence of the drainage work.

I mentioned that yesterday's eating included A LOT of chocolate. I paid for it with inflammation today! Scale was up 1.5. Today's breakfast was protein heavy and satisfying. I'm also at home today, working remotely, so I less tempted by the endless supply of end of year food gifts and treats available at school.

I did not want to get out of bed today. It felt so nice just to lie there. I stayed in bed until the very last minute I could. It felt wonderfully indulgent. I will have to schedule a "Get up whenever the hell you want" day the first week of vacation! If I make it to 9 am, I will be surprised. It usually takes me a while to adjust back to a later summer schedule.

I will be the only working stiff in my close circle of friends. BFF, Aunty Kathryn, Ron and my Brother are all going to be retired by this summer. I admit I have feelings of envy. I will have to watch my emotions to make sure I don't start having feelings of resentment. Those feelings pop up for me when Ron is going through one of his "non productive" phases. At least I know this about myself. It's also one of the feelings that triggers me to EAT CRAP FOOD, so it really is important to monitor those feelings as we adjust to Ron's retirement.

I think EVERYTHING with emotion connected to it has an effect on my eating. Darn it!

Happy Hump Day to all in the USA. Hope your Thursday is wonderful, too, Shirl!

Haha, and too true. Feel emotion = eat

The wall progress looks good!

On the slowing down for me and the reacting to Ron's retiring for you I think we have to admit that having a partner does complicate our own lives even when things are going well. And I hate to admit that EVERYTHING affects my eating too - bad or good.

Weight 187. Maybe this whole "eat out until I leave so I don't waste groceries" idea needs rethinking.

6 mile hilly walk this morning. And a latte and donut after which likely wiped out all my calorie burning.

I have to start packing!! The procrastination is raising my anxiety!

Packing is not fun! I assume you use previous packing lists to get a head start?

I can't find ANY of them! I had them for things to do before I leave and stuff to take in either Apple reminders or notes, but they aren't there now. Argh!

Oh no! I always rely on old lists (and update as needed). More and more as I get older...
