I finally slept fairly well. But I also had one good night last week surrounded by many sleepless nights, so hopefully this isn't an aberration. It has been a while since I had such a stretch of insomnia and I sort of forgot how frustrating and debilitating it is. Thank goodness I don't have to go to work anymore. I do think it is the transition as the last time I had insomnia like this was traveling to Florida in October.

Ok, so just between us, I am doing the girlfriend thing of being jealous of golf. After spending almost every moment together when we are in the same household, Mike is golfing for the 3rd time in 4 days. It takes up about 6-7 hours of the day, so it essentially kills off doing anything together that day. I am not sure if it is the fact that he is doing or something else that bothers me or that I didn't get any advance notice so I could think about making plans myself (he told me about today last night). The other 2 golfing days were while I was busy with DD's graduation events so weren't a big deal and he told me early in the week about his plans. I really don't want to say anything as I know him enough to know that he may overreact and not go at all (resenting me silently and making me feel that I don't have free time). At some point I'd like him to set a schedule or just tell me a bit in advance. I will probably just wait to see if that occurs on its own since we have just returned. Relationship adjustment issues...

So since I don't have plans today, maybe I will try going to the beach. It may be warm enough to wear a bathing suit but if not I can read on the beach and have my lunch there. I do wish I could bring Justice, but that isn't allowed here this time of year.

Have a safe and healthy Monday!

Good Morning All

Popping in while I eat breakfast before I leave for work. I have been taking it to work and eating there but I need to get things done here a bit. Am enjoying it, its busy for my boss and I feel bad Im not up to speed enough to make a huge difference to his schedules yet but I am making headway. More OH n S meetings today plus a client meeting. The days just fly and Im working well over what my required hours are but he is very flexiable and has said I can leave early on the Fridays when I am heading to the farm. I think it will be a good fit. Hes very kind and thoughtful.

I have a free evening so will likely do some cooking. Need to make a loaf of bread too and pick up some honey from a friends farm for DH - arranged to meet her son at the shopping centre carpack before he starts work.

Not a lot else to report - just work and chores then eventually bed. Its a big adjustment to go back to working in the office - you dont realise just how much you can achieve during the day as far as the household chores etc but it will become routine soon enough

Liz - its always a journey trying to navigate new situations. Wish you luck and enjoy the beach. We are cold and wintery - wood fire is running so its lovely to come home to a warm toasty house

I best run - Hello to all that follow

Greetings from Planet Puppy

They are ruling our lives at one month. Had them out of the pen for awhile eating and romping. The little boy is showing signs of a retrieve instinct. He is the one being adopted by a retired nurse in san francisco so I send her videos of him every day and she sends me pictures of where he will live. Its fun because she has friends up here and went to nursing school here so she comes up from time to time and we will get to see little Walter.

DH has been good about doing puppy laundry. I put down puppy pads but so far they just drag them around.

Liz I get what you are saying about the golf times. But I bet after awhile you will look forward to those golf days. Tee Hee. I wish DH would go play gold. But I did mention he is going to his sisters for a few days so I am plotting trash removal.

We watched our niece graduate from Occidental College on u tube yesterday. What a great thing. Much better than being there in person as it was raining in Pasadena!!! Close up view of her walking across the stage!

Shirley I am so glad your boss recognizes how valuable good employees are and how much better things will go if they are considerate. Glad its working out.

Shrimp tonight. Love the recipe (send DH to costco to buy ready to eat shrimp). Payroll to pick up and groceries to buy. Tomorrow I have my first in person scrabble games in over a year!! Yay for the vaccination. Unfortunately, infection rates have gone up in our county - its nearly all young people who are being foolish. One related to a church.

Peps love your red house. I know I have mentioned we painted our house a fairly intense lavender in an otherwise beige and mint green neighborhood. All the school girls walk by and say "Oh I love your house!!"

Thats about it. Diane S

Liz, the phrase "golf widow" exists for a reason! Maybe time to have a compromise discussion about all solo activities you both might have (but independent of any golf plan announcements on his part. ie not when he tells you he's got golf plans for the 5th day in a row which could ignite tempers).

Shirl, I'm so glad you're settling in well with your new job!

Weight: 185. Again after overdoing yesterday. Something is working in my favor on the metabolism front, though it may not be the boon I want it to be.

Today I got my hair colored and have therapy later. Not very exciting!

It was a crazy, busy day at school today, but I enjoyed it. Except the part when someone came in my classroom with a tape measure. Oh oh, contact tracing. By 6th hour there were a number of students, socially distanced, waiting on the curb to be picked up by their parents. More quarantines.

Peps, congratulations on reinstating music education in your district. So important.

Minnesota no longer has a mask mandate. I'm thrilled at the thought of having my hair done without a mask, and shopping etc. I feel badly for people with compromised immunities who now must really self quarantine again, because they will have no idea whether any of the unmasked people they encounter are immunized or have antibodies. And no 12, 13, 14 or 15 year olds will be fully vaccinated until the end of June. Younger have no opportunity yet. So if you have say, a 6year old, you probably won't be able to take them with you on a quick Target run. At least not until the numbers are down,if you live in Minnesota, we still have a pretty high infection rate. Other states might be different.

Glorious weather here! Warm all week with some evening thunderstorms. Great for the flowers I am now planting.

It was mayhem here today. Not really, but far too much going on. Painter finishing up and landscapers starting... Dogs were crated pretty much all day. Boooooo...... The contractor was so impressed by the painter that he has offered the painter a job! That's pretty telling. Contractor kept raving about the quality of the painter's work today. It is a pretty slick and super clean job. His attention to detail is admirable!

Food was completely off today. Not horrible, but just off.

Feeling super tired today, too, so I'm keeping it short.

Cheers!
