Day 3 of very little sleep for no reason except a bout of insomnia. I'm not sure why.

So I am feeling pressured today because I am exhausted and there is too much to do. I need to clear out some unused shoes and clothing to make room, then put away everything from Florida. And I have to pack for 2 days in Central Massachusetts for DD's birthday and graduation. We are supposed to go to Mike's today so he can get more of his stuff, then leave early tomorrow so the housekeeper can come at 8:30 am. DS is trying to reschedule her for Friday.

After this week I have to get to smarter eating. Devon made some excellent points about a weight easier to maintain but like Cecily I feel much better at about 15 pounds less and I really don't want to give up/replace the clothing that fits at that weight. Sigh. The battle never ends.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday.

I am trying to focus on food that nurtures me, and I think I've improved the quality of food I'm eating this month. And that makes me feel better, less exhausted. But I'm still eating too much. And some snacks of dubious quality are sneaking in, but that's not my main diet, like it was for a few crazy weeks. Ready made foods I am trying to keep on hand for when I'm not up for cooking: Good Foods Chicken Salad (190 calories and 20grams protein!), nut, craisin and cheese snack packs, chobani single serve Greek yogurts, fairlife milk for chai and iced coffees, fruit, Frontera Chicken and Black Bean Power Bowls... if you all have any go tos, what are they?

Today was an ordinary day, with the charms an ordinary day brings, had some fun conversations with students, saw a cardinal at my bird feeder... Oh, and my new sandals are AMAZING! Every time I stand up I think, holy Hannah these shoes are comfortable. They're not beautiful shoes, but a bit more attractive than Tevas, and maybe even more comfortable... Arla Gracie Cloudsteppers by Clarks. Walking in comfort sure makes for a cheerful outlook :)

27 views, but only 2people posted so far... It's getting kind of quiet in here, more voices, more viewpoints, more shared advice, it would all be awesome if people want to join in :)

In the spirit of raised voices, here is mine! I confess I have logged on a few times today to see if anyone had posted, but did not have the time to post between meetings and other work.

I am beyond appalled by the cost of the yard construction I am having done. However, the cost is considered reasonable and the company has great references and my BFF has used this company twice. I also like the owner. He is hard working and so easy to work with. He speaks very fast, so it's a challenge to follow along. I enjoy the challenge because it's an insight into how his brain is processing the project. He is ALWAYS thinking. The Porta-Potty is being dropped off tomorrow or the next day.

Providence also shined upon us! The painter who I interviewed and came highly recommended came by today and told us he has the ability to start the prep work tomorrow. One of his jobs cancelled. YAY! So, he'll come and start power washing and stripping off paint tomorrow. Painting will begin sometime mid week next week we think. While he's here I hit him up for an estimate on redoing the ceiling in the master bedroom (it's popcorn) and repainting. Going to have that done, too! What the heck. I'm spending so much money already, what's a thousand or two more????? Plus, it'll be DONE!

Food has been fine the past few days. I am really struggling though with picking up the calorie cutting gauntlet! I am baffled as to what is scaring/preventing/blocking me from making the minor reductions I need to make to get weight loss started up again. At least I am doing a good job maintaining. That is cause for CELEBRATION in its own right.

I wrote a 3+ page letter to the school board over the past few days. I really tried to let this issue go. I really did. But on Monday, one of my mild mannered colleagues poked the bear (me) just a little too hard and the bear's ire was stirred and could not be calmed. It took me two days of writing, asking my colleagues to participate in a survey, disaggregating the data and presenting it in a letter. The poke is the proposed reduction of art and music instruction to allow for coding and "media arts" instruction for 3-5 graders. Just what students need after 14+ months of online school - more screen time! At least now I have had my say and I was able to do it without being confrontational or negative. I sure hope the board is receptive to the letter. I know at least one board member has read it.

Not much else going on. I am procrastinating grooming my own dogs. But after a day of school (albeit online) and grooming a clietn dog, I'm not much in the mood to groom one of my own! LOL!

The students are fortunate there is a bear that can be poked who when roused, is a fierce advocate.
