I can't believe it is Monday already! We had a great visit with Mike's daughter and grandchildren. I felt very welcomed and really enjoyed the camaraderie amongst themselves and with their Poppa, that they also extended to me.
Hopefully today will start out as well with DS. Apparently he had a good talk with DD about it and it sounds like he is getting there. We will be home by mid-afternoon.
Another crazy week coming up though. Tomorrow we need to drive the hour further down Cape to Mike's place so he can get some things. Then Thursday we are driving separately to central Massachusetts for DD's birthday and MBA graduation. Mike is staying for the birthday, but going to his other daughters new home the second night. Saturday I am going to a luncheon with high school friends on my way back to Cape Cod. I need some down time the next couple of weeks before we go to Aruba!
Have a safe and healthy Monday!

Weight: forgot to weigh, which is a clear sign I wasn't expecting it to be good
This morning I need to tidy up my bedroom and bathroom as the hvac guy is coming to do regular maintenance on my a/c and the access to the attic is through my closet. And I had to haul a bunch of stuff out of the closet to make room for a ladder. Clearly the decluttering effort hasn't made it to my closet yet!
Later this afternoon is therapy and I probably need it...
I have to say, your life sounds like one big vacation to me! LOL! Actually, I believe it is a well deserved lifestyle after the years you willingly and unconditionally devoted to being DH's loving wife and caretaker during his illness.
It is also wonderful how welcoming Mike's friends and family have been. It sure sounds like you have begun to write Part III of the Life of Liz!
Yes Devon, I feel like I am on a vacation a lot of the time lately. I hope reality doesn't kick me too suddenly!

It is crazy to me that my weekend eating results in weight loss and my during the week eating is the eating that causes me issues. It must be the exposure to the "See Food" rule.... You know the "I see food, I eat it" rule. I still have difficulty telling myself, "No" to all the treats we have around school. Teacher Appreciation week is a real *****!
Though I have bounced around a bit, I have maintained that little loss that occurred during my travels to Texas. I really do want to see about getting the next 5 pounds off, but doing it without the "diet" mentality is proving more elusive than I suspected. However, for me this is a far kinder way of dealing with my weight and body image. I stand by my commitment to do this differently.
Have to look for a new painter. The guy who came highly recommended flaked out on 2 appointments. Yesterday he was a complete no show. No call, no text, no nothing. Can't work with that type of person.
Yard construction will hopefully begin in two weeks. Fingers crossed. Would be nice to have it all done by mid June!
15 more school days including today! Only 10 more get up and go to school days. The next 3 Wednesdays and this Friday are all work from home days! I am sooooo ready for this school year to be over!
Greetings All from the Puppy Palace
All this puppy stuff is getting real. They are eating puppy Mousse (thanks peps) and playing with each other and only hours from getting out of their pen. Fun begins. Ditto major pooping. I think Tesla is trying to wean the pups. She wants her life back where she is the puppy.
Nephew was here visiting for the weekend. He has lost over 100 lbs on the keto diet and is absolutely born-again keto. We went to the store and the tour I got was hilarious. He showed me how to work the air fryer that I had not bothered to use and made us a nice keto dinner. I think he was dissapointed in the fact that we could not eat all the stuff he made but it was nice. Then watched the movie "Palm Springs" which was kind of cute. He also brought some wine from a Calistoga winery. Very good.
Nephew made chicken wings in the air fryer with some kind of instant powder flavor. Quite good. I could see doing that.
Our niece is graduating from Occidental in 2 weeks and there is a new airline that has direct flights from here to Burbank. So I am sending DH off to be with his sisters and their families while I stay here and tend puppies (and throw out junk). Should be fun.
Studio time today. I am feeling more energized - I think because these pups force me to get up and moving.
Liz so glad Mike's family is accepting but why would they not be. You are a prize.
Yay Peps, school is almost out. Kids don't realize how much it means to the teachers!!
More later on the adventures with air fryer.

Good Morning All
Quick pop in as I leave in 15 mins to start my new job. Im feeling good - more excitement than anxiety so I know I have made the right choice. Spoke to one of my old directors and apparently the new companies office is sterile and they sit at their desks like robots- only re-inforces that I made the right decision. I would have suffocated as I work hard but need the social connection too.
Lovely to read your posts - I had best fly
S
I am so excited for you in your new job!!!!
