Twice in a single week? Hmmmmm......

Weight down a smidge just by getting back into a closer to normal routine, but there was cake consumed yesterday - and extremely good cake at that.

It is another glorious spring day here. I am grooming one of Dottie's pups in a few minutes. Later, I will do a little watering and rose cutting today - an inside bouquet will be nice! I also must do some meal prep for the week.

Off to groom!

When there is extremely good cake it is definitely worth eating so we don't feel deprived!

I am back home from our Miami/Fort Lauderdale excursion. We had a nice visit with Mike's son prior to his travels and the hotel last night was fantastic. I think I like Fort Lauderdale much more than Miami Beach. It actually reminds me of what Miami Beach was like 17 years ago more than Miami does now.

We have just a few days to get organized and packed to drive home. Wednesday will be the busiest day. I always feel sad when I leave Florida, but I love Cape Cod so it won't last long. I am just hoping DS is in a good mood by the time we get there.

And Mike and I want to get on a planned eating routine once home which of course will take some time with a birthday and graduation the first week back.

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

I always feel the same when I switch between MI and CA. I never seem to want to leave the one I'm enjoying.

Slow start to the day for me! I read into the wee hours of the morning.

I'm mulling over the idea of cleaning the garage today. Zero promises. Nice and cool and overcast today, so it seems like good weather for laboring in there.

I've been online shopping a bit too much this week and should probably cool it! A new summer purse (the right purse to so hard to find! Not too small, not too big, not too expensive, not ugly, a summery color, the right length strap to go over my shoulder, but under the arm not at the hip. What I want is my current purse in a lighter color, but they don't make it anymore), some makeup, some skin products, some hair products, some underwear...

I've been struggling with overeating carbs lately. I think it's time to stop stocking some of the items I've taken to overdoing.

That's all I have. Have good days!

Let me know if you find that perfect purse. I am looking for exactly what you described too!

I'm trying this one first. It's 30% off right now. It looks big in the pictures, but by measurement, I don't know that it's as big as it looks... https://www.coach.com/shay-shoulder-bag/93811.html?dwvar_col or=B4L4A#prefn1=department&prefv1=Women&hp=img_m1_save30_sho p_women&start=12

If that one is it's too big, I'll return it and try this one that isn't on sale... https://www.coach.com/coach-ergo-shoulder-bag/C2265.html?dwv ar_color=B4%2FNA#start=5

Nice purses! I like the size of the smaller one better though.

Adding to my Goldilocksing of purses, I was a bit worried the smaller one's opening would mean getting scratched by the zipper every time you dug in (or catch my watch or bracelets). Sigh. In person shopping would be easier!

Overcast and coolish here, 67 degrees and humid. Costco was a total zoo, because everyone must have followed my plan: no chores on the first really warm day (it got up to 87!!!!!), So everyone, doing all the weekend errands today.

I had such a great day yesterday, reading, relaxing outside, leftovers for dinner. I went to bed around midnight, slept so well, and woke up naturally at 8:30 am.

Today I read the paper and went to Costco :) Liz I was going to get artichoke hearts to add to the feta pasta I'm going to make tonight, and darn, I forgot. That sounded good! And Costco was so busy they were actually out of roasted chicken when I walked through the deli section. I could have circled back later to see if they restocked, but my cart was already overflowing, so well have to survive.

I bought some things I haven't bought in a long time, like bars. Realistically, I'm going to have a snack sometimes in the afternoon. Better a protein bar than cruising for sweets in the break room. I also stocked up on frozen pizzas. Again, stuff happens, and seems like those are less damage than ordering pizza. I'm thinking about all the tweaking I seem to do all the time to try and eat in a way that makes me feel fueled... coming to the realization I am never going to settle on the perfect eating plan, and this is just life.

A few other things I got, there are these little cups of chicken salad they only have in the spring/summer. They're 180 calories, and 20grams of protein. I scoop them out on a bed of salad, drizzle a little Italian dressing and it's pretty filling. I also stocked up on the Frontera Chicken Protein bowls. So ready made food that I think also offers some decent flavor and nutrition. And for fun, Yasso mint Greek yogurt bars. 100 calorie****s the spot.

My daughter is making 2 ingredient weigh****chers bagels. It's flour and Greek yogurt. She uses a good amount of everything bagel seasoning. If you're counting points, I think it's either 2 or 3 points. They can be toasted :) and make a nice breakfast sandwich with an egg and a bit of cheese.

So a rather food centered post ... maintenance, the never ending search for the right balance.

I LOVE Yasso bars! The mint chocolate chip are a staple in my freezer...
