May Day? I remember doing a dance with streamers around a flagpole at school when I was a young child.

We are in HOT South Miami Beach (90+ during the day). Yesterday afternoon we went to a few places I had gone to with eldest DD when she was being treated for cancer here 17 years ago (we spent July-September here in the summer of 2004). Bittersweet but some good memories.

After we checked into our hotel, we went out to a couple of places in South Beach, walking around in between. Though it is still good for people watching it has changed in some ways from 17 years ago. Definitely has less salsa music and more modern music. The average age of the revelers was probably about 25. Lots of young ladies wearing thongs during the day and evening who perhaps would qualify for WLS? Wonderful though that they feel comfortable enough about their bodies to show them that way.

Today we are driving up to Fort Lauderdale to see Mike's son and spend the night there. Tomorrow Mike will drive his son to the airport and we will transport 2 cars back to my place. One of his cars will be stored in the garage with mine for the summer, with my golf cart going over to a friends garage. We will drive home in the other car. Complicated, but I am really enjoying making all these plans with another person. It has been a good 8-10 years since I had a reasoning partner.

On that note, have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Weight 185

I didn't move much yesterday. I need to remedy that today. I had a nice video call with my friend in the UK and I read a bunch, but not much else.

A quick grocery trip is required today, I'm out of turkey and raspberries. I really do need more veggies in my menus, but I buy them and they go bad in my fridge. I have a Mental Veggie Block.

That's not much, but all I have today! Have good days, all!

Busy Saturday. Was up and grooming by 8:30. Finished about 11:45. Am grabbing a bite to eat before showering and then we are off to an 80th b'day for BIL's mother. Weather is lovely and party is outdoors, so it should be a nice time.

Great nutritional counseling session yesterday. Gained about 3 pounds this week. I'm guessing it is all water retention from the traveling and being off my sleep cycle. Just getting back into the swing of a regular eating cycle without admonishment. Super nice place to be.

Hasta la bye bye!

Liz I love younger women wearing whatever feels good to them, regardless of their size. But it surprises me too. I grew up in an era of not wanting to tuck my shirt in (which was the style) because I was sure my stomach was way too bulgy. Looking at pictures, there are times I was actually thin and relatively toned from all the horseback riding. Such a shame I didn't realize I looked just fine. Then, at my highest weight, I always had at least one swimsuit that fit (though certainly not a thong!), and I swam anyhow. But I remember other women, smaller than me that would wistfully say, oh I just can't feel comfortable in a swimsuit. No matter what size I am now, highest, lowest, regain, re loss, I'm never going to look good in a swimsuit, too much loose skin. But I'm going to look like I'm having fun, because I am. :) I am 100% for weight loss surgery, because my weight did make my life a fat prison, and I feel so much better now. But I'm also really happy there seems to be more room these days for different types of beauty.

Ha, if Miami is cooking now, how hot will it be when I visit in June? Perhaps even I will have too much of my favorite thing.

Last evening I bought my first round of hanging baskets and bedding plants. I limited the amount, because there could still be freeze warnings. I need to be able to cover what I plant, or pick up and bring in the house overnight. But I love looking at them right now, as I'm "hardening them off" on the front porch.

Today is lovely, I've done nothing but drink chai tea and read on the porch. The house, as always, could use a little tidy after mostly being neglected during the week, but the big push I made last weekend is still holding most of it together. So today is a be still day. There will be time later for chores. Maybe. :)

The first time I visited Miami was in June. Very hot and muggy with a shower almost every afternoon. It's not my cup of tea, but some like it.

We went to Key West and Miami for our honeymoon in September, so almost 34 years ago. I have fond memories of the daily rain at 1pm everyday. It chased us back to our room for an hour or so, the perfect place to be on a honeymoon. :)

Funny, but Fort Lauderdale reminded me more of what I used to feel like Miami Beach was 17 years ago. And we went to a great small plate restaurant there: Sun, Surf, Sand. AND the hotel was fantastic (Hotel Maren).

Greetings All from Puppy Central

The little eyes are open but they are not up and walking. Such a sweet time. The little runt is not gaining weight as fast as the others but does not want the supplement. So I just made sure she had the mega tit and moved the big fat one away who was trying to move in.

Liz I so love that girls of all sizes are out and about. Thats one reason I love Lizzo - she is fat and not afraid to shake it! Wish I could have learned that lesson young. Not to sweat 10 pounds.

Dinner last night was a beef pot pie from the heath food store deli. Quite good but more carbs than I need.

Well I am off to the horrible safeway store to pick up a few things.

Some people, all nurses, came to look at pups yesterday. This one from SF wants the boy. Seems like a good person with the time and inclination to make a pup the center of her life. Thats what it takes.

Liz, don't forget that a car left unstarted in a garage for months will become a nest for mice! Happened to me. Not sure what you do about it.

Take care all. Diane S

I better check under the hood before I start the car! I use a trickle charger on my cars so have to open the hood anyway...

The puppy news makes me want one, but no, no, no. Not with our schedule these days. Justice is enough!!! (Plus he loves being the center of attention)

Good Morning All

Popping in before I start my chores then going to Breakfast with my best friend. Feeling very surreal as I process the past few weeks. Last nights farewell dinner was amazing. We laughed, we remembered and some tears- namely me and my directors wife when we read our cards. Showered with more gifts and huge box of flowers. Totally spoilt. It will be strange not to be getting up to work tommorrow- my desk is empty as I handed all my hardware back but I have a huge day of appointments then a funeral & wake before I head to the farm.

Taking my mums Tilt chair over to my uncle to try as his condition is progressing and mobility is becoming a big issue. Then hoping for a quiet night- just need to be still to process

Wonderful to read what everyone is up too

Stay safe everyone
