We visited Sarasota briefly. I'd like to explore it more. I understand it has a quality arts scene, with an Orchestra, and good theaters.

90 degrees... Yesterday I told my parents again that I could go pack up their Florida house in June. I forgot about the workshop, I bet it's a cooker inside that shed on a 90 degree day, no air conditioner etc. Might be something I have to pack early morning or in the evening. My parents aren't being too accepting of the help we're offering. My brother and I agreed I could go in June, pack, leave boxes in the house. Closing is tentatively set for October. My brother would fly down before then, rent a u haul, load it up and drive back. My parents want to drive their pick up down, and pull a trailer. They seem a little miffed that we think they can't handle this. The last time my Dad pulled a trailer they were stranded on the side of freeway with a flat, while my Dad lost it. Not a good scene. My Mom can't stand long enough to cook a meal, and is on supplemental oxygen. As I often say when they tell me their plans, What could possibly go wrong? I continue to be very firm with my boundaries, I am not driving any trucks or pulling any trailers.

Cold, rainy still. Perfect night for blankets on the couch, with tea. I am tired after work, and don't have much ambition for anything else. Probably a combination of the added stress of folding online learners into live classes, age, extra weight, and out of shape. Hmmm, a couple of these are actually within my control. Oh well. Perhaps some ambition will return with the sun.

Rainy days suck energy. Sarasota is a pretty vital city - much more so than Fort Myers, the closet city to my place. There are also some good museums, beaches, shopping and restaurants. But also a lot of traffic in season unfortunately.
