Welcome to Thursday! The SILs and I had a good day yesterday. We went with a friend her to a good restaurant by the beach for lunch, then poked around in a couple of shops. Night before last we watched a documentary about Audrey Hepburn on Netflix, then last night we watched "Roman Holiday". What a great movie!
Today is a beach day. The humidity seems to have dropped as it is in the low 60s this morning instead of the low 70s it has been. But with full sun it is supposed to get to the high 80s this afternoon. We are going to an island called Boca Grande for the day where the turquoise water and white beaches make it feel like a Caribbean island. Very beautiful with wonderful restaurants on the water.
I am missing Mike but I suspect (hope maybe?) that it is harder for him as he is very alone. He keeps chuckling about being able to act like a bachelor again, with the TV on all day, the toilet seat up and the bed unmade. But he did find that life quite lonely previously. He has been going to the gym longer and to the driving range to fill in the time I think.
Not much else going on. Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Good Morning All
Waking up to slighter warmer day - dogs still snoozing on their beds inside. I let them sleep in the mini house last night
Worked over 12 hours yesterday then chores around the farm - was glad to curl up in bed last night
Today will be work then going into town to get some groceries etc for the weekend. DH and DS will arrive late and the balance of our kids arrive tommorrow at various stages. Going to be a full house - I may not make it back here over the weekend
We will be leaving the farm around 4.30am for the dawn service, followed by gunfire breakfast and then watching DH on horseback during the Anzac Day March. Looking forward to it and will share pictures if I can manage to get some decent ones
Take care all

Liz, the beach sounds wonderful. When are you and Mike reunited again?
Another day at work, enjoying the students in person a lot. The day flies by.
I'm home now and dinner is started. After several cold rainy days (highs in the 40s), the sun is out and it's 60 degrees. Everything seems so much more possible when you don't have to scrunched up your shoulders and keep your head down as you face a bitter wind. Instead I feel like a sunflower, lifting my face to the sky.
My eating, I haven't given it much attention. When I'm weighing myself, I'm holding steady. Better than gaining I guess. Unless you're one of Tesla's puppies, than gaining is awesome!
Mike will button up his house and come to mine here a week from today. We head north a week after that.

Diane C., I identified with your post about the weather today. However, I will admit that your high is the cool, I'm complaining about! LOL! We had a nice stretch of 80s two weeks ago, so today's breezy 63 degrees felt down right chilly to me. Ron had goose pimples on his arm this afternoon. How quickly we forget the days here in CA when it doesn't get much above 40 or 45! We are spoiled by the weather.
I am feeling the drag of monitoring my food intake, making choices, that while not "restrictive" are limiting WITHOUT seeing the scale move to smaller numbers with any significant speed. I do believe that I am building stamina, though, to continue to make healthier choices that will lead to weight loss. I'm so aware of my thinking, too, which has been really helping me guide my choices.
Food is ever present at school - even during this Covid era. I have noticed that I will choose to take a food item simply to take it. I do not eat it, but the item is usually one that holds some type of value to my eating disorder (e.g. packaged Cinnamon Crumb Cake, or Blueberry muffin). I will take it, choose not to eat it, and then put it in the cupboard where I keep utensils, salt, paper plates, napkins, etc.... Odd behavior, but apparently it is working.
Not much else going on.... 31 more school days before this most bizarre school year comes to an end. I am very happy to see it go.
