AMEN! to the new oncologist!!!! That is fantastic news. I agree with you. You have to feel comfortable with your treatment. Frankly the first oncologist does not sound as if she was treating you, but rather treating only the cancer. That doesn't fly in my book!
As for the fire pit.... I understand, but priorities are priorities. LOL! The fire pit and outdoor kitchen area could require a great deal of reconfiguration to make it really work, so we are doing the "Have to's" first and the "want to's" for later....
I don't know what she was treating, since she wasn't ordering the standard screening (6months after radiation), or giving me any direction on meds (she handed me 4printouts and said we'll talk about them later, why? If it turns out 3 of them are contraindicated by osteoporosis) but luckily, my risks of recurrence are small, so no harm has come to me due to her nonchalance. She was very big about complimenting my clothes, or my hair, but that's not gonna keep the cancer away.
What a great move to this new oncologist. I am so glad that you are doing what is best for you though sometimes that is difficult. It sounds like she is really attuned to what to do. My SILs oncologist sounds like her and when we talk to him we feel so confident that he is doing everything necessary.

And yes, the Ex seems to have gotten stuck in time and picks partners now who are the same. Kind of sad, as she lost her husband, her son doesn't relate well to her and she apparently has lost some old friends (I have met one who won't expand on why but she got cut off though they had been friends since they were teenagers). The inability to manage money has been an ongoing issue and did I mention that their marriage which was struggling finally broke up because she cheated and got caught (hence the son's feelings). Kind of a mess, but Mike got over several years of extreme anger and now feels sorry for her. He helps her for the sake of their children and grandchildren. He has a big heart.
