Gun violence, racism, police brutality, a pandemic. This country has so much change needed though I can't imagine living elsewhere.

On more positive notes: Mike is back, youngest DD had her first shot of Pfizer yesterday, DS gets his tomorrow, and everyone else eligible in my family and Mike's are fully vaccinated or about to be. We need to get the younger segments done!

I have my first golf lesson today then a neighborhood get together at the pool in late afternoon. I'm looking forward to meeting people here.

But only 5 more days remain in this house until the fall. I will be in my place for 2.5 weeks, then drive home with Mike arriving in time for DD's birthday and MBA graduation.

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Weight 184.2. A normal BMI! Next stop, top of my range in 9.2 pounds.

I'm going to try to not ruin my weight this week with the first of 2 restaurants today. Pilates was great yesterday. I tried to commit to memory the good feelings I had afterwards to use when I next am dreading going... My shoes are dry, so maybe a walk tonight.

Same old, same old here. Keeping track of calories, monitoring eating disorder, trying to keep stinking thinking in check....

My forgetfulness is costing me $400 today. I made a mental note to pay property taxes and promptly forgot to get it done. so I get to pay the penalty. F*&K! Hate that waste of hard earned cash! Oh, well.....

Of course, I remembered at 6:00 am, which put a damper on my mood for the day.

My workout yesterday was kind of next level. I did FIVE sets of 12 reps of chest presses using 75# dumb bells. I finally failed on the fifth set on #11. That's pretty damn impressive. I'm certainly getting stronger, that's for sure!

I have decided to sink some more money into the house. Going to do some hard scape in the front and back yards. I'm guessing we will do it in 2 or three stages, depending on cost. In the back we need retaining walls, and then want to add an outdoor kitchen area with seating and I think a fire pit. I see a nice pergola in the mix and a new vegetable garden with corrugated metal bins, too. In the front we need to pour a new stoop and pathway to the sidewalk. What we have is an accident waiting to happen - especially for my dad. We also are having the house painted. New England Barn/Farmhouse red with white trim and khaki accents. Will be an odd site in CA, but I love the color palette and we have enough foliage around the house to pull it off.

Hope everyone is doing well.

The house we lived in for 20 years in central Massachusetts was barn red with cream accents:

Royal Barry Wills was the architect - traditional NE gambrel cape with a large center chimney (big fireplace in living room and small one in the kitchen).

All of it sounds great, but for sure the fire pit and outdoor kitchen! It's California, take advantage of the more temperament weather!
