I just lost my lengthy posting!!!! Darn OH sometimes!

My day at the beach club yesterday was really good. The staff recognized me so it wasn't awkward. One of the long time people confided that Mike has seemed so much happier since he met me.

Mike is having a productive and enjoyable visit with his family on Cape Cod. They have a little more yard cleanup to do today, but are having lobsters tonight. The weather has cooperated there and was warm enough to have a fire outside last night. The Ex wasn't around until late yesterday but will be present over the weekend. Mike says he is going to tell her that she has to make a plan to move. I wonder how emphatic he will be? I am okay with her being around in the future for family gatherings when I am there, but I don't like the idea that he will be alone there with her periodically. We have talked about living in my home but going to his a couple of days a week. That will feel really awkward if she is still living there. It will be interesting to hear what transpires on that front.

In the meantime I am amusing myself by thinking about what I would change in the decor here. It is such a guy place with lots of brown and beige, colors which I only use sparingly. Here is his Florida home decor vs. mine:

I am not sure what I am doing today. It is supposed to be hot and sunny but windy.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Weight 185.2. I do so much better at 1600, though it's not going to get me where I want to be quickly. It must be mostly mental, but 1400 makes me very self-destructive! Walked 3 miles.

I have really shaky hands (part caffeine, part hyperthyroidism). So painting my nails is usually a messy experience and even if I get it right, I end up with sheet prints in them or smudges from hitting them on something. I tried nail wraps yesterday and they are fantastic! I used the Dashing Diva ones (got them at Ulta). They are stickers of gel like polish. You stick them on and file off the excess. Looks and acts just like regular polish with no down time or mess. I also bought the ones for toes, but haven't put them on yet.

No big plans today except maybe a walk. Maybe I'll fill a donation box too.

Take care all!

My daughter has suggested I try those wraps. I used to do acrylics, but I hated the upkeep, sometimes it hurt, and it was soooo boring. I tried gels once and thought the same thing, too much upkeep.

I'll keep you posted how they hold up! Easy to put on and so far feel just like nail polish and lasted through a shower and hand washing. Apparently you just put a drop of oil near your cuticle when you want them off and lift with an orange stick. They are $7 a pack and I could do one more set from this pack. So a bottle of polish is more economical, but you can't beat the lack of mess!

Oh thank you, DD! My skin and my hands were the best genes I inherited (thanks to my Momma)!

I will have to try those wraps! I make a mess too but don't like going for manicures/pedicures. Your hands look great!

Mike's furniture is tasteful and looks to be high quality, but it does look heavy and dark, especially for Florida. I love your Florida style, and your color choices. Seems like you could have a lot of fun, being creative as to what you'll keep, and what else you can bring in to brighten it up.

Yesterday was DHs birthday, so after work we went out to dinner in an outdoor tent restaurant. It was really cute, strung with lights on perimeter and a couple of chandeliers hung from the peak of the tent.

Now there is a birthday cake in the house from one of our favorite bakeries. Right now I'm full from some eggs and bacon, so I don't think I'll find it tempting until later this afternoon.

School was exhausting, but rewarding. I need to pick up the pace of completing paperwork. At home I was used to big chunks of uninterrupted time, now my writing time is in smaller chunks, and there are a lot more, mostly welcome, interruptions.

Can't expect to see the scale move after dinner, wine and then cake last night.

I'm feeling the itch to hit the mall and see what's available, but I'm not sure if trying on clothes is allowed yet. Shopping without trying on doesn't make a lot of sense, unless it's brands I already know what my size is... but maybe tomorrow. Today should be the Saturday tidy.

So this happened today: I brought some of my colors into the living room. A different rug and less modern tables and I think it would make a big difference. I also bought a couple of bathroom mats for the master bath to match the navy towels replacing the very ugly cheap looking beige patterned ones that were there. I might ultimately swap out some of the furniture with some pieces from my place like the kitchen table.

I am going to make changes slowly as I always do to see what looks right and what needs to be completely changed. It should make it easier for Mike to absorb but he is ok with me making modifications. The original furniture was chosen by a decorator based on the color scheme he thought might work (but he had never made those kinds of choices previously).

Greetings All

Its a lovely cool sunny day here. But serious wind. DH took dogs for walks earlier to avoid increasing wind. There is a gale warning for the water but it does not seem that bad.

I am slowly trying to clean out stuff. Packing up newspapers, getting rid of cardboard, cleaning junk out of guest room and getting ready for puppies and eventually nephew. I finally looked at the new sheets I ordered and they are for a twin, not queen. Oh well. At least now I can go to bed bath and beyond and shop. Will give the twin to neighbor.

Tesla just barfed on the carpet. She ate chicken like a pig last night and treats today. Might have been too much. She is still refusing the goats milk. I drank some. Not bad. tastes like cow milk with a slightly goaty aftertaste. I sent DH to get some canned goats milk since that is what is used if a puppy needs a supplement. He came home with powdered. Oh well. That will sit on the shelf for 50 years.

DH latest weird habit: using a spoon to eat popcorn!!!

Liz love your decorating and your ideas. Why do men always like dark leather furniture? Are there iPad apps where you can take pictures and change out colors to see how stuff looks? Have fun.

We started a new show "Resident Alien". Its funny. Some alien gets stuck on earth and has to blend into a small town. Apple tv.

Cecily love the nail wraps. What a great idea! When I was a lawyer I used to do my nails but have not in 20 years. Your color choice is wonderful.

Riccotta bake tonight. I put extra eggs in.
