These last few days have been a blur ! We have begun removing furniture and stuff to our storage unit, in preparation for staging pictures. We found a four bedroom two bath house for rent in Orange Park FL, close enough to the ocean, but far enough away. We have pre applied and have a hold on it until we can see it after it becomes available ~ 05/16/21, while we are down there. It was so stressful to organize and pack without knowing exactly how much space we'd have. Annual physical this AM then off to Syracuse to see my mother IN HER APARTMENT ! Yea for double vaccinations!

Diane, it truly amazes me how fast you move once you make up your mind! I can decide something relatively quickly but my pace in putting it into action is like a snail compared to you. Looks like you will be in the Jacksonville area? It's about 3 hours from Mike's place which will be mine too beginning this fall. I have been thinking about swapping out some of the furniture with mine when I move as mine is light and bright and his is all dark and heavy, but I will probably have to mull it over for another 6 months, LOL.

Speaking of rentals, someone is renting Mike's place for May-August while they have a house built. Nice rental income while we aren't here. Once I give up my Florida place entirely (which won't be for about a year), we will stop renting this one out, but that obviously will be a while.

Between now and when I get home on May 9, I need to let DS know that Mike will be living with me. The DDs are very supportive but I think DS doesn't have a clue (though he should). I need to give him some time to absorb the information but don't want to deal with a deep freeze from home for too long so I need to pick the right time...

Today is beach, golf practice, then a wine dinner here at the club. Mike leaves tomorrow for a few days to go to his Cape Cod place. His kids will be there over the weekend to do spring cleanup. He hasn't seen them since the summer so is really looking forward to it. I will be here alone with the dog which will seem weird, but I know the area well enough now to be fine.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Weight 187.8. Argh.

I did a 5.25 mile hike and am off to do 6 miles this morning with a friend followed by Starbucks.

I did better on my food, but still went over my return to higher calories a bit. Better than over by a lot, I guess.

Nothing else interesting here, sorry!

Good Morning All

Starting the day on not a lot of sleep as I am putting in my resignation today. I got the job offer last night around 6pm and have accepted. Im super happy as this role feels right and Im really looking forward to working with my new boss. I apparently blitzed it and was the stand out amongst 60+ applicants. Who knew after 15+ years of being in the same job ........ The hard part will be in the next hour or so when I have to tell my boss. Im hoping he will take the news with grace. I have negotiated a 5+ week notice period so I can be on hand to do effective handover to the new company. We shall see if its taken up. I will also do evenings if required once I start my new role. Things are falling into place and I feel excited about the future - the feeling of dread has nearly lifted so that shows me I have made the right decision for myself and my family. Weird to be thinking this way but the change was needed

So today will be work. I have consultancy invoicing to get done. And then some cleaning and my SIL is coming over for a cuppa which will be lovely. Its 14 years since my sister passed away - I miss her and am sad for all that shes missed out on. I have tommorrow off and am taking Mum out for the day. It will be lovely.

Diane O - Wow - you are a doer - Everything is falling into place well for you and Im so happy

Liz - Sounds like everything is wonderful for you too - I hope telling DS goes well too

Cec - Look at you exercising like a champion - can you post a little motivation over here. Ive been wallowing in the stress eating cycle and it aint pretty indeed

DD - Great to see pictures of your return to classroom - you look so well

Diane S - What date is Tesla due

Hello to all that follow. I had best get my butt moving. Get this horrible task over and done with :(

Diane did you and DH do some downsizing when you combined households? I can't imagine how long it would take to clean out our modest home. DH is a pack rat, who, thank heavens, contains his stuff in certain parts of the house I have ceded to him. He has 2 spaces where he can pile it up to the ceiling if he wants, but if it escapes, then I can get rid of it. That way he can hoard (I'm convinced it's an anxiety issue), but it can't get crazy, and I can have the rest of the house be normal clutter. The kind I can tidy up when I am motivated (ie company). Anyhow, I am in awe you can move forward so quickly.

Today was exhausting, but in a good way. Students were working on a review, and were asking questions when they needed help. This is a big thing for 9th graders. Sometimes when they're stuck, they not to deal with it at all, and try to sneak onto their phones. I guess we grown ups resort to these type of behaviors too. And then I had a ton of paperwork, so I stayed 2hours past quitting time. I'll sleep tonight I think.

Cecily all of your exercise is impressive. I'm a little sore from walking around the building, and standing over desks. :) Probably very good for me that I have to move.

Day 3 of my diet and the carb/sugar withdrawal headache started, so I'm eating a bit more than yesterday, but still "dieting". Some more water would probably help. I forget to drink at work, I did better when working from home.
