April Fools Day, 2021
I don't really do anything "foolish" on April's Fools Day, but I thought it might be amusing to title the daily posting that way (;
Last night we had a great visit with Mike's friends, including their son. Really fun people.
Today we drive to the east coast of Florida to Mike's place. We are taking both cars as I will be coming back in the middle of April by myself when my SILs visit. Mike will likely leave in the morning so he can do errands there and I will leave later after doing laundry and getting the mail. I'm actually staying longer mainly for the mail. I had ordered something almost two weeks ago that didn't get shipped for quite a few days and now seems to be on the SLOW USPS path. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but hasn't of course. I am kind of pissed that I have to wait and what if it doesn't come today????
Enjoy the farm Shirl and welcome back DianeC. It is so fun to see and hear your enthusiasm about Easter and traditions with your girls Bonnie. And Cecily, lucky you that your weight is bouncing where it is - it will settle down. I keep having one good day, then one bad day of eating so who knows when I will feel comfortable weighing myself???
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

April Fool's Day is one day I DO NOT miss being in an elementary school ! I have a tele session with my therapist at 10, and the dentist at 1:30. I filled three large trash bags with clothes to donate. We are going to donate all of Chuck's adaptive equipment from his hip replacement surgeries to the office he went to for physical therapy. Slowly, the purge begins. Liz, where will you and Mike live up north ?
Have a great day all !

Right now our plan is to live in my house on Cape Cod. My son is still there and I have to tell him, but I have a fully functional above ground basement suite which is where he normally stays so it shouldn't be an issue. Mike will retain his Cape house which is more of a cottage than mine and we will probably go there a couple of days a week when his daughters aren't using it. Here in Florida, I will fully move my stuff to his place in the fall. I will retain my Florida place for another year, hopefully renting it to family then assess whether to sell it or keep renting it out.
ETA: So weird to be making these plans!

I am also very happy when April 1 falls during spring break. I've never had high school kids play any bad pranks, but lots of little pranks throughout the day is sometimes entertaining, but also a bit exhausting.
Lots of tribe members making big decisions about life! Relocating, co- habiting, downsizing, all big changes.
Bonnie, I love all of your pictures of Easter week activities. This Easter highlights the theme of rebirth and redemption in a most relevant way.
Las Vegas gave me what I came for, sun and pool time, and some nice dining. When we arrived at midnight on Saturday, the Venetian was a mad house! DH looked at me and said, "we'll be on respirators by Wednesday", but once we got to the elevators to the rooms, it was much quieter. That was a little daunting too at first. After you scanned your key, you had to wait in line while staff people loaded elevators with no more than 4 people. I appreciated their attention to safety, and it all actually went smoothly.
The number of tourists is apparently up quite a bit, but restaurants are still at 50% capacity, and very few shows, so there are a lot of people out walking. Some places felt more crowded than precovid. That's when it's nice to escape to your hotel's pool deck etc.
DH had to head back to work today, I am off the rest of the week. If all goes to plan, he should be retiring around this time next year. Once he's retired, he will work part time during the school year, and he will not work at all when I'm on vacation in the summer etc.
Not a lot if plans for the rest of the week: DH has to work Saturday, and my daughter and I are going to go have lunch with my parents. On Easter Sunday, we are having dinner at his brother's house with nieces and nephews etc. Something we have not done in over a year. It will be lovely to be together.
Good Morning All
Blissful sleep in after crashing into bed at 8.30pm last night. I hit the wall big time!
Worked yesterday then mum and I went and did all the groceries for the week.
Had a call from recruitment consultant to ask what I thought of the job, director etc- not her normal practice so Im feeling positive. My gut feel is its down to one other & me and I feel her push is for me. Its coming down to remuneration so will see what she can wrangle. Shes told him you get what you pay for. Time will tell.
Jack the new bull is due to arrive anytime. We will get him settled. My BIL n SIL are also coming for a cuppa before they head to Adelaide to meet their new grandson. SIL will come over too. Tonight we are taking prawns n salad over to her house and will have dinner with family. Mum is enjoying her time up here. The weather is wonderful.
i had best move. Wishing you all a wonderful evening

Arrived home safe and sound last night about 6:30. I was much more tired than I realized. Got home and was kind of cranky and done in, but given how much my back hurt and how tired I was, it didn't seem too odd to be a bit out of sorts. I sure was happy to be home. So were the three traveling dogs.
12 days on the road and two weekends of dog shows is a lot for me. I felt pretty good about my food intake most of the time. Though yesterday was bit of an off track day. I treated myself to the single fast food meal I allowed for the trip and last night Ron ordered pizza and salad for dinner. At least my breakfast was healthy! LOL.
I debated getting on the scale or letting it go for a few days. I thought it best to just get it over with. So I hopped on this morning. What do you know? A 6 pound LOSS. I'm gonna say that that is not the norm for me after traveling. Hope I'm not super dehydrated or something.
I got the RV cleaned out top to bottom today. Fridge is washed out, bathroom and kitchen all scrubbed and clean. Cupboards emptied and GOAT is ready to go back to storage. (I did all the tanks yesterday before I left Yermo/Barstow.)
Big changes ahead for several of you. Retirements, new living arrangements, relocations, new jobs, etc.... WOW! I'm simply looking forward to getting through the next 40 school days. I really want this year to be over.

Weight 158.8 grrr. But I am still so sore from my workout and 5 mile hike, I'm thinking some is water retention.
The cleaning people came and my house is all scrubbed.
Food is still at 1400 and it's not a hardship. DianeO, I need to absorb some of your forward cleanout momentum. I lost my spark of earlier this year!
It was hot and muggy (88) here today - very un-CA spring. Once it cools off, I will walk.
Glad it sounds like you all had good days!
