I am back in Florida where the tree pollen is out of control in my neighborhood but it is WARM!

And I am fully vaccinated! It will be completely in effect 3/25. I drank a ton of water as some medical people had suggested and it seems to be helping. I took ibuprofen when the side effects were settling in vs. ahead of time to make sure the immune response kicked in properly. So my arm is very sore, I ache a bit and I am tired, but much better than after the first shot. I think I was dehydrated when I had that one and didn't take ibuprofen when I could have because I waited until morning to read up about it.

And so great to be back with Mike! I think we are beaching today to keep it low-key. I didn't walk with the ladies this morning because I slept until 8 and I don't think today is a good day to try the new kayak. But tomorrow should be good and we leave for Key West on Sunday.

To everyone getting fully vaccinated by July 4 and being able to celebrate at a barbecue!

Have a safe and healthy day!

Was it 155.6 or 156.6. Ugh. But whatever

4th of July? I'm hearing something about late May. I'm hoping for big Memorial Day celebration and kicking off summer the right way!!

Ann, Paula, David, Miss Bonnie, Stephanie Plum, and everyone else...please check in!

Liz-ugh to pollen. And why can't Florida ever be warm when I"m there?! I swear!!

You may have seen Becca turning 3 yesterday. I felt filled with such excitement for her. She's blossoming into such a cute young girl. There is no sign of baby left in her. Really I wouldn't even consider her a toddler. She's simply a little girl. And it's FUN! Tomorrow we are having a little party for her. Last year her birthday was shrouded by fear and doubt. Only my parents were able to come over (and even then I think some people feared for that!).

Today I need to pick up and prepare the food. I'm keeping it fairly simple. (We finish each others) Sandwiches, Reindeer food (celery, carrots and pretzels), Olaf Noses (cheetos), maybe some grapes for a fruit, I still need to make snowflake cookies, and cake of course--but I bought from Sam's and will pretty with rice paper snowflakes and silver and white dragees.

The main thing I have to do today is to bake and decorate the cookies. And then decorate the house. Which I cannot really do until they go to sleep. If I can clean the house and bake the cookies during naptime, I think Rich and I can knock out cookie decorating and house decorating in an hour or two. Believe it or not I'm really trying to pull back on my normal tendency to go overboard.

Oh yeah, must secure covid test today before traveling.

After her birthday we will switch into packing/get ready mode for Jamaica!

So fun having a birthday party when they really understand what it is! I hope the Jamaica trip is great!

Weight 188.4

Walked this morning with my friend. It's an absolutely beautiful day and I really needed friend time. Nothing else scheduled for today. Maybe a load of laundry and planning a road trip.

Liz, glad you are so happy to be back in FL and thrilled for you to have had your second vaccine!!!!!! Yay! My second dose is this coming Wednesday. Ron and my pop get their 2nd doses today. And finally, my brother is scheduled for his first on Monday! Very happy for him, since he has been riddled with Covid anxiety this entire year. He actually started sheltering in place on March 4th of 2020 and has continued to live a very isolated life since.

I haven't posted much this week. My eating life and food life are going as they should, but I really need to start looking at how to reduce calories to start losing some more weight. While I feel satisfied with my current progress, I think I am ready to take on some more responsibility in my weight loss desires. The more practice I get with making non emotional choices the more control I seem to gain. I'd like to test this out. Might as well take my new skills out for a test drive, right?

I, too, miss some of our old regulars. I understand that for some the need for OH wanes after a period. I get that. Doesn't mean I don't miss them, though.

Hope all have a lovely weekend. More grooming for me. Have to start preparing for my road trip. Leave in a week from today.
