VSG Maintenance Group

Good morning !! We are starting to see patches of grass in the yard ! It is supposed to be in the 60s for a few days later this week. CDC is offering guidance on slowly resuming normalcy. Since we already have so much experience with change being the only constant, we have already embraced many of the adaptations required for enhanced resilience. We've got this !!
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! Grass! I have moss showing on Cape Cod, LOL. We are supposed to have a high possibly of 50 today. I know that is exciting to folks here but still seems cold since I am normally not here in March. It will be about 80 when I get back to Florida on Thursday.
I am missing Mike. I really have gotten used to spending time with him. But today I am meeting friends for lunch (outside so hopefully there will be heaters). Tomorrow is DS's birthday so I need to get a card and some sort of gift for him to open.
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

The next phase has opened!!!
I know this is kind of what DD wa****ting on. And DD's story yesterday about appointments going to waste made me feel a little better about utilizing my spot and now hopefully getting in and out so the next phase was ushered in!
I'm also so happy about the new CDC guidelines. I think their original "nothing changes" status kind of made people feel like well then why even get the vaccine if I still don't go anywhere, still masked, etc.
I haven't felt so happy in a looooong time. I'm singing Easter hymns, have lit a pumpkin candle (I know, but they always smell best!!), the ground smells like wet dirt LIFE, I'm getting ready for my angel's 3rd birthday and I have the privilege of grading bar exams.
Life is good. I know I'm a bit venty on here so I thought it was only fair to share some sunshine. I hope all of you can now get a vaccine if you so choose!
Weight: 155.6 but WHO CARES! Dinner last night was leftover roast turned into barbecue sandwiches and roasted asparagus following by book club at my house (we still sat over 6 ft. apart) with little noshes of cheese and homemade rice krispy squares like my grandmommy always made. Tonight is taco tuesday with blackened shrimp tacos with pineapple and tomatillo salsa, and sauteed zucchini with everything but the elote seasoning.

No vaccine on the horizon for me. I don't have any hope it will happen soon. The state just set aside 40% of our vaccine for the hardest hit zip codes. And 10% is set aside for education people. So that leaves 50% and a whole lot of people in our state of 40 million ahead of me. It's fine. I understand the whys and that I am not essential or in a high risk group. But it's still depressing.
Today I need to go get some furniture my dad forgot to give to the movers and take it to the warehouse so they can store it with the rest of the stuff my dad is keeping.
I should go get dressed and head out.
Hope you all have a good day!
Well it seems that a day has made a difference for me too. This morning while I was waiting for my 7:30am PT appointment, I saw a press release that the Governor was going to open up vaccination to the next tier. I guess my strongly worded email about wasted vaccine did the trick. Jk. When I got home I made an appointment ASAP, before the actual press conference. So DH has an appointment tomorrow, and I have a lot of feelings.
To celebrate, we decided to take our vaccinated selves on another getaway during my spring break. Airfares out of Minnesota during spring break are always nuts. I wanted to go to Miami, but airfare was around $600, way too much for a 4 day trip. So we are ending up in an unlikely place: Las Vegas. We don't gamble, but we do like sun, food, and a fancy drink or two. There are enough outdoor restaurants open, and we're staying at the Venetian, so there are numerous pools for social distancing. So 4 days of pools, walking, dining. No gambling, no shows, no indoor restaurants and malls.
It was 63 degrees today! Snow predicted tomorrow. Yep, it was false spring.
Cecily, I wonder if you would have better luck in Michigan for a vaccine? Where are they at in terms of vaccinating their over 65? Minnesota says we are at 70%, which is why they can open more tiers. The expectation right now here is that your age group, no cormobidities should be vaccinated by the beginning of June.
So happy for you that DH will be vaccinated and you have another trip planned!
