I've been busy getting ready for Pawley's Island ! We had to dig things like water shoes, extra chargers and wet suits out of the RV. I began the process of changing out from winter to summer clothes, but there is no guarantee winter here will be 100% over when we return, so our dressing room looks very confused. I've got the medical records we travel with for Sadie & Atlas all up to date. Hugs your way !

Pawley's Island, here you come!
I am getting ready mentally for going home Sunday. It will be a short but nice visit. I will see 2 of my children, my SILs, and a couple of friends in Falmouth. Apparently DS has decided that he wants to go to a restaurant for his birthday and has booked a reservation. Interesting from a guy who has been saying that he won't go anywhere because of Covid risk...
I am meeting with my financial advisor by phone next week. On the agenda are plans for 2021 including the possibility that I might move in with Mike (officially) and if so what makes sense in terms of selling my Florida place (or not) and changing my state of residency (or not).
Lots of food for thought. Today is Mike and my 7 month "anniversary" and our relationship really couldn't be any better.
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

Weight 191.6. Holy cow! I ate too much and it was a lot of salty things! Delicious, but whoa. I need to be careful the rest of the week.
It felt so weird and wonderful to be at a friend's house gabbing and having dinner. I hadn't realized how much I missed that! My throat was sore by the time I left from all the unaccustomed talking. The food was fantastic, but goodness I ate too much and probably an extra day's calories not to mention salt.
A very good and close family friend was in a bad car accident day before yesterday. She's going to be okay, but is still in the hospital with a broken vertebrae, 5 broken ribs, a punctured lung, and concussion. I texted her son and offered them my stand-you-up recliner for her recovery. He's coming to get it today. I've wanted to get rid of it for a while because it doesn't fit my decor, but kept procrastinating. Maybe the universe knew it needed this new home! She can donate it elsewhere when she doesn't need it anymore. She's also supposed to have knee replacement surgery (now postponed for the second time because of the accident) so it might come in handy when it's time for that too.
Yesterday was also filled with cleaning out pictures and paperwork at my dad's house. I came home with some, but maybe pictures are better than other types of clutter. Some I'm going to send to my mom's newly discovered cousin who had never seen pictures of her dad as a kid or her grandparents and great grandparents. I texted her a few and she was fascinated at family resemblances.
I did also bring home a dog crate and playpen. It's not time, but one day I'll need them again. On a related note, I got the most beautiful flowers from the vet's office with a lovely note about how much they loved Fergus. Made my heart feel good.
Off to walk with a friend. Hope you all have nice days!
So nice to hear from others who cared for Ferg.

Liz and Diane, you make me anticipate retirement! I can't wait for extended travel in the winter.
Cecily, how awesome you can put your special recliner to good use. I can't imagine all the sorting going on at your Dad's house. We have lived in our modest house for 34 years, and my husband holds onto to every little thing, he's so sentimental. I do think pictures are the best thing to keep. My BFF lives in Mexico City, and when she had to settle her parents estate in Minnesota, that was what she picked to keep, and let almost everything else go.
Peps, I've been thinking about what you wrote about your WLS journey, and my own relationship with food. I remember taking a written test too, about a week before my surgery. I always come back to my surgeon saying that obesity is a multifaceted disease. I suppose if it was clearly caused by X we would have a cure. As it is, we all have to tease out the facets of how the disease presents with us. For me there is some psychological component, proven by how I eat when I'm with my parents (are there enough carbs in the world in those moments?). But I really believe my obesity is mostly driven by hormones. The reduction in capacity and in grehlin production have been very helpful aspects of the surgery.
Loved, loved having our son home last night. I really like his girlfriend, but it's also nice to see just him. In the few years my in laws were alive, I used to occasionally tell my husband to go visit them without me. I'm so glad I did that now that I can feel what it's like to just want your kid all to yourself for a few hours.
I'm tired today, but it's already been a big week, so I wouldn't attribute it to the vaccine. My arm is a little sore if I actually touch the injection site, but otherwise, not bothering me at all.
Well, back to work! Webex and Romeo and Juliet await.
Good Morning All
Last day of the working week - yay. DS is in hospital to get his 4 Wisdom Teeth removed and his father will drop him back here around 1pm so I can take care of him. We are staying home this weekend so we are here to help him.
Another late night last night but it was lovely to visit with our nephew, his partner and their gorgeous little man. Hes delightful :) I loved all the cuddles. Got to see my SIL, niece and her children too. It was a great family night
Today is just work, our cleaner comes shortly then will just be having a quiet afternoon - will likely start chopping up tomatos for another batch of sauce. Need to make sauce and passata over the weekend as we have so many tomatos!
Diane O - Sorry I thought you had already gone to the Island. Im sorry. Hope you all have a wonderful time :)
Liz - Enjoy your day and it will be nice to go home to see your kids and celebrate DS birthday
Cec - You have such a kind heart loaning out your chair. Im glad you had a good visit with friends
Peps - I always love reading your posts - they invoke much thought - Im feeling like Im loosing the battle a lot of late, deep down I know exactly what to do but my motivation is sadly absent. I am going to make myself start by weighing myself at some stage over the weekend. Im dreading it as my clothes are telling me enough of an ugly tale but best face it
DD - Hope the rest of your working day was good and you enjoy Romeo and Juliet :)
Hello to any that follow - I had best get in the shower and get dressed before the cleaner comes
Take care all
S
Greetings All
No weight to report as usual but it does not bode well that I am sitting here sipping a mini coke. I only drink about one per year so its no big deal.
I got the urge for a coke at the discount grocery store and they only had pepsi. No can do. But I knew we had one at home.
I was at the discount grocery because a couple of churches in our town maintain little free pantries for non perishable stuff and I felt a need to do something for the less fortunate. Bought little cans of chili and vienna sausages and tuna and jerky and other stuff. Stopped at the church to drop off and noticed a man sitting on a bench across the yard. I called out to him and said "Hey I am putting some new food in here if you want some". He came over and was very excited and started to cry. Heart wrenching. I had a cloth bag which he asked for and I gave it to him. When I left he was filling up the bag. There was some stuff in the pantry but it was cans of tomato sauce and jars of apple sauce. Not so good for a homeless person.
Also picked up a nice salmon fillet and blueberries at the discount store. Yum. They really have good prices.
And I got the little dog figure made of felt that I ordered for my brother as a surprise. Its pretty cute and looks like his dog. A surprise. I will post a picture if computer cooperates.
Chip got groomed yesterday. They did a great job with the old guy. I took a show picture so they could see that a border terrier has no pom poms or skirts or fancy stuff.
Tesla was all wigged out this morning and I think its due to high wind. Had to dose her with dope oil. Still unknown about puppies.
Liz I love the stories of you and Mike and am glad you found a nice companion (who lives near beach). I so respect your wisdom about considering the financial stuff relating to your future.
And Pawley island Diane M!! I can so picture you paddling around. Awesome.
Cecily thinking of you. Our vet office lights a candle when anyone has lost a pet. So kind that yours sent you a memorial. They are indeed family.
The ocean was awesome and sparkly today. Must visit there more.
Take care all. Diane S. (OH if you eat this you are doomed)
