We had a good day with DD yesterday. And Justice did well at doggy day care. He was quite tentative at first but eventually was roaming around with all the other doggies. I really like being able to see him on camera at anytime. I expected him to be exhausted last night but he really wasn't. In fact I ended up having to take him for a short bathroom walk at 4 am. Ughhh.
I hope DiamondD has a fantastic time on her vacation. The weather is definitely going to cooperate and it looks like a great spot.
Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Weight 189.6 Apparently my body likes this weight and has no interest in moving.
While I knew it, I didn't really see it until Fergie was gone. My entire day revolved around him. His food, his potties, his eye drops, his pills, listening for whether he needed something, waking up for pills or hearing him panting and checking on him. I had 4 daily pill alarms set for him my watch/phone for nearly two years. I don't know what to do with myself and feel a bit adrift with that nagging feeling that I'm forgetting to do something.
I had an eye appointment this morning (love my new contacts) and then a 5+ mile walk and lunch with a friend. We also facetimed together with our friend in the UK.
My dad's house closed escrow today. Very bittersweet to let it go. The estate sale people who bought all the contents came and took a bunch of stuff today (2 trucks and 4 people and my dad says it hardly looks like they've taken anything). The amount they are paying for everything in the house is about what one of the antique tables cost, but we're trying to make peace with that and realize value was in the nearly 30 years of enjoyment of it all. Anyway it's a sucky week and I'm ready to lock myself in a dark closet for a month to give my heart time to heal. Knock on wood, I can't handle more right now.
At least it's a gorgeous day. Super strong sun and 72 degrees.
I hope you all are having good days!
When we lost our Bella, I was so sad and wondered if my grieving was abnormal. I googled just a few things, and one therapist wrote about just what you described. Over the lifetime of your pet, you follow the same daily routines 1000s of times. My husband still talks about what his and Bella 's morning routine, because he was the last one to leave the house. She always sat with me when I read the paper... It's a very, very big loss. Thinking of you.
When my beagle died I felt the same way. She had been blind, deaf, and in diapers during her last days so there was a lot of care needed and she hovered by me. I ended up getting my next beagle puppy within a month. It wasn't quite as difficult with the last two as I had another younger dog to focus attention on.

Vaccine dose #1 on board. Arm is beginning to be sore and I'm beginning to feel a bit wiped out - kind of like I do the day before I get a cold. Keeping everything crossed that I'm fine in the morning.
But.... boy, oh boy, was I feeling a sense of excitement, hope and joy as we drove up to the injection site. Our appointment was at the Oakland Coliseum. I was amazed and impressed by the number of workers on site. Not only EMTs and health care workers, but private security, Oakland PD, Alameda County Sheriffs, FEMA agents and scores of National Guards. The organization was amazing! We were in and out in 32 minutes, whi*****luded our in the car "observation" time before being allowed to leave.
Glad you are feeling so chipper Diane Ocean! That is awesome! Long time coming!!!!
Not much else going on here. Eating is on track....
