We are back on the east coast at Mike's. The weather is supposed to be good today so we will probably go to the beach club. Other than that just a long dog walk and a food store trip. We had a nice dinner out at the club here last night. I could get used to this. But I am finding that I am feeling the need to pull out my better quality clothing and accessories. Might be just in my head but I feel like wearing my Old Navy tee-shirt dresses to these events might be frowned upon. Different world for me, LOL.
Massachusetts just opened up for 65+ vaccination. I hope my family and friends can get them without a lot of angst as has been the case in Florida until recently.
ETA: I was just trying the "Vaxfinder" application for Massachusetts and it crashed. That looks familiar... And that is just to find sites with vaccines, not make an appointment. It is supposed to be the "convenient " way to find them.
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

I'm sure whatever you're wearing, you look awesome Liz. But sporting your nice things also sounds kind of fun. But however you dress, they're lucky to have a high quality person in their midst.
Every day it's hard to process just how badly this vaccine roll out is going. Still can't believe my parents had to drive 2.5 hours to get their shots in -35 degree windchill. Ugh.
Our district's plan to return to in person learning was all of 24 hours old when the State announced new guidelines for the return to in person learning. The adjusted plan will be announced at the school board meeting next Tuesday evening. One of my friends is going to text me the update, because I am NOT checking work email from Florida. I've deleted the app from my phone and tablet. As long as my work laptop is here in my office, I see no need to have notifications about work emails on my personal devices.
Temps slowly inching towards 20 degrees, cloudy and a light snowfall. Yesterday's eating not so good, today I woke up feeling more in control and without crazy cravings. May be I scratched the itch for carbs. Cottage cheese sounded wonderful, and was a tasty breakfast with a few chunks of drained canned pineapple.
Keep up the good fight tribe!
Thanks Diane! Florida, here you come!!!
And yes this vaccine stuff is crazy and difficult especially for the people who need it most.

I jinxed you saying I hoped the decision stuck! My apologies!!!
Cottage cheese is such a polarizing food. Some people loathe it, some love it with fruit. It's firmly a savory thing for me, so fruit is a no-no, but pepper is awesome. And it can't be a runny variety. Knudsen/Breakstone is about the only one where I trust it not to be runny. Basically it's one of those Goldilocks foods! but when it's right, it's delish.

Weight 189.6. So not a fluke, woohoo!
Yesterday I left the house at 10:30 expecting to be back at 11:30 and didn't sit down until 6. Nuts. I had to pick up Ferg's pain meds and at the vet's office, there was a family bringing in their old labradoodle to be put to sleep. All the techs went to the car and brought him in on a stretcher and I held the door open for them while the whole family stood together crying and filling our forms. It hit way too close to home and I cried when I got to my car.
Then to the bank for my 11 am notary appointment, except the guy didn't come to work, so they said I needed to wait for the only other person who could do it and would I sit in my car and they would call. An hour later I went back to the door to make sure they didn't forget about me and she said they tried to call me and couldn't reach me. I was 40 feet away! No missed call or message. In the meantime, another family got in in front of me. So could I wait again... long story short, 2 hours and 45 minutes after my appointment, I had my three signatures notarized. Honestly, house transaction paperwork is overly complicated!!
Ran home for lunch as it was nearly 2 and I hadn't eaten that day. Then doubled -checked all the paperwork and took it to Fed Ex, went to the eye doctor to picK up my new contacts. Got home and went to sit down and the painter showed up for the estimate. Then I ran to the grocery store because I was out of everything. I hate days like that, but food and the urge to snack is sure pushed to the back burner on them!
Today is another sweep of my stuff for the cleaning people and Ferg has an eye appointment this afternoon. Should be a pretty day - 70 and sunny. So a walk would be good. I haven't in over a week and feel bad about that.
Liz, that's the nice thing about where we are in Michigan. It's not the super fancy part. So the people who stick out are the ones in Lilly Pulitzer and diamonds on the beach, not the ones in Old Navy dresses!
DD, I'm excited about you getting to Florida to warm your bones.
Shirl, I believe that when life forces change you don't want, it can actually be because there is something even better out there for you. Fingers and toes crossed you find that!
BB, you enjoy Florida too!
Devon, how is going up there? I saw your classroom set up, nice job!
DianeO and DianeS, hello! I miss you both!
What a day you had yesterday! It is hard when you see family members grieving for their fur babies. Alway****s hard.

Good Morning All,
Busy morning with trying to get organised for the weekend. I was out washing cars and doing groceries till after 9pm last night. DH comes home tommorrow which will be nice. As I mentioned we are meeting the whole family for a picnic at the lake near our home around 5pm - will be lovely to have everyone together again. I am making a coleslaw, burgers, scones and bringing all the sauces and pickled beetroot - 90% homegrown which is nice. The kids are each bringing stuff to share too. Sunday will be a big one as we are making sauce and chutney - we do it by the massive boiler full so its a full days production but good to have it done for the year and I dont like the sauces you buy - been too spoilt.
Continuing to downsize stuff and clean out things we dont need. Have set a goal of a box from the garage each day I am at the city house. Fingers crossed I can keep it going as I refuse to move stuff we dont need. Im giving a lot away but have also listed things on EBAY. Im shocked at what people will buy but guess we are all different. Have DS putting together their Harry Potter Lego as my ex and I have decided to sell it - there is only so much I can store for the grandkids. Again its amazing what that stuff sells for!
Re the job front it will be what it will be. Im trying not to stress as much as possible. I have over 12 weeks of Long Service leave to fall back on if needed. The hardest thing is this new companys role is a great fit for me - its simply the travel so I guess in the end it will up to them as to how much they are prepared to accomodate me in relation to working from home 3 days a week but my family comes first. Thank you for your encouragement - it means the world.
I best run - the cleaner is due to arrive any minute and I have to do a last sweep. Its harder when you are downsizing - you need to make a mess to clean one up but she doesnt need to try and work around it
Take care all and stay safe

From DianeS:
All is well here. I tried to post yesterday but OH or someone else ate my post. Grrrrrr. My computer is freezing up more and more these days. Might be time for a new one. At least this MAC has lasted far longer than my previous pc did.
Its cold and rainy here but nothing like what the people in Texas are experiencing. Sounds like their government has not done a good job with power regulation. States like Minnesota and Colorado have this kind of weather all the time and manage to keep their power going. Just sayin'.
DH had a blood draw and has some kind of issue with iron. Not low level but low storage. So I am making popeye pie tonight for iron boost. Plus I have reminded him that I checked the high iron foods list and ice cream bars and cheese popcorn are not on the list. Surprisingly, lentils are on the list.
Liz dress up if you feel like it. But only if you really feel like it. Then again, I live in an area where shoes are a dress up item.
I am feeling bad for the poor and homeless. Its been almost a year since I took bananas to the homeless outreach. I don't think they are even doing it as the cook ladies were all about 90 years old. I think I will go to the discount grocery store and buy single serving canned stuff for the free pantry. Least I can do. Plus it puts off doing the banking and tax junk I should be doing.
We have been watching Big Sky which is good but we have to wait each week for a new episode. Quelle Horror!!
No vaccine here yet for us. They are still on the 70 plus people. Fine by me. Should be about 3 weeks. But our favorite local pharmacy is being bought out by CVS which I am prepared to hate. Everyone in town is rushing to get refills before the change event.
Well I had better post this before it disappears. Have fun in FLA DD and good for you for deleting work email app.
