Welcome to Friday! Today Mike is going to go spend the day and evening with his son, returning tomorrow morning. It will be strange to be here in his place alone. I think I will poke around in some of the overpriced shops here this afternoon, something I would never subject him to.
Something is off with Justice this morning. He is very flaccid and shaking. I hope it isn't his teeth. They do need a deep cleaning but I had put off getting it done. It could just be his digestive system as sometimes they are finicky in a chihuahua but he did do his business like normal when I took him out a while ago. So concerning when our pets aren't feeling well and can't tell us why.
Last night Mike and I went to a local place and split a burger. We ended up talking to a couple similar in age. They met 2 months after Mike and I and are engaged. Wow! The guy kept talking about how much he had in life (boats, houses on the water, etc). The woman was attractive but not aging super well. I swear he came on to me a bit. So really off-putting! I liked the woman though. And the ring was beautiful LOL.
Tomorrow we head back to my place for a few days after Mike returns from his son's place. I will drive the 3 hours since he will already have driven 90 minutes to get back here.
Not much else happening other than that I am fully recovered from my vaccine side-effects. I slept super heavy last night.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Ceci, you are doing so well getting back to where you want to be !! Any more news on your Dad's house ? DD, you have to be counting the days until FL. So glad your parents will be vaccinated. BB, those girls are precious !! I love reading your think alouds ! Your logic and reasoning are that of an attorney !! Peps, nice back !! Hope it is also nice to BE back at school ! Weight up .2 today. Didn't manage to walk. I had a zoom get together during my walking time I forgot about because I hate zoom and chose not to think about it until it was too late not to go. Hence, no walk.
I had my second follow up contact appointment. I'm so glad I tried again! This set up is much better. Instead of multifocals which didn't work well for me, this is one eye adjusted for distance and one for reading. I would have thought it would be weird, but it's not.
Today I am getting my hair cut and colored. I need it. Given the hair loss is most noticeable around my forehead and temples, the white regrowth against the brown color makes me look extra bald there. On the upside, I seem to be shedding less after just 12 days of iron supplements.
Time for dog pills/drops and to get ready for the day... Take care all.
Diane, that book sounds interesting, the title alone intrigues. Liz, I bet it does seem strange being at Mike's house without him. Cecily, the contact thing sounds weird, but I know other people say it worked for them, so the science is there.
After so much uncertainty, the information is arriving. Things that gnawed at me are getting settled. My parents should be getting their vaccines right now. Mine is scheduled. The district finally announced that we would NOT be starting hybrid on the 22nd, and we will remain in distance learning for now. After surveying staff, teachers and students, the majority do not want a return to hybrid, but want to stay with distance learning until we can return fulltime. (This is for secondary, elementary already made the transition), so there's a good chance I'll have my second shot before I'm back in a classroom.
Speaking of, my vaccination got moved up to Feb. 22, which is a day before we leave for Florida. I'm a little worried, but other people who are already vaccinated tell me that they had no trouble with the first, if they hadn't already had Covid. But the 3rd turned out to ******ror on my part, it was a clinic for a 2nd vaccination. So all the other dates were while we were gone, it was either do it the 22nd, or go back on the waitlist. So, 1st shot 2/22, 2nd shot 3/16, all scheduled, yee haw!!
As you can see, I'm not posting much about food. I think I'm doing okay, but I stopped tracking, it was all getting to be too much. I'm mentally ticking off boxes of, did I have enough fruit/veggies and protein. This is not the moment for calorie deficit I need to endure to lose weight. It's also not the moment for crazy indulgences. It's the moment to nourish myself with good foods. So delicious whole foods are my focus right now, but not counting points or calories.
I am not tracking these days either - just concentrating on spending time with Mike though I am trying to make good food choices. Probably too much wine though. It seems difficult to go out to dinner and not have a glass of wine or 2.
You must be getting the Pfizer vaccine? Moderna is 4 weeks between shots. My second is supposed to be on the day before I return from Massachusetts for my son's birthday. The pharmacist said to call him that day and he will hold it for my return.

Yes, Pfizer. The registration was a bit complicated, because you had to register for a first dose clinic (as I learned), note the type vaccine used at that clinic, look at a chart to calculate when to schedule a 2nd dose based on what you had, and then schedule a 2nd dose clinic the correct time, that is admjinistering the correct type of vaccine. ETA, I'm happy I'm getting the Pfizer vaccine, because a dear friend was on the development team, and he is so proud to be part of this, saying it is the most gratifying work he's done, and the highlight of his career. It will be fun to tell him I got his vaccine.
My mood has been continually pissy this entire week. I am also hesitant to "vent", as I feel that I would alienate too many.
I know I will come back from all of this, but damn, I'm having a hard time thinking I will be able to forgive and forget so much of what I have experienced in the past weeks.
But at least it is sunny and pretty today!
Sorry Devon. I hope things improve.

Greetings All.
Dog sex today. Well sort of. Ended up being an artificial insemination. Tesla is inexperienced and was too wiggly and bitey. fortunately this breeder has much experience with AI. We shall see. Her blood tests said today was ideal. But no one asked her. She is home and now very hungry.
Speaking of hungry, I spied a couple of Pringles potato chips in the dog bowl. Gotta admit I had a fleeting urge to grab them and eat them!!! Horrors. Fortunately I went searching for the mother lode and ate just a few. But not just one.
Hey DianeO, I saw that book Unfuck yourself and thought it looked interesting. I might order it too.
Its cold and rainy here. I envy you all in Florida and warm places. I just want to eat hot soup and nap.
DH finally got our old SUV running so I was able to drive it to the dog date. These people live in the redwoods on a rutty road which is no place for an electric car which is essentially a big battery and a computer.
DH had a medical zoom apt yesterday on some routine stuff. Our internist says it will be about a month before we can get the vaccine. He says they are organized and giving all they have but supplies are short here. Oh well. We have been holed up for almost a year. Whats another month.
Hey I made that eggs in a ham cup thing last night. Really pretty good and easy. More ham. More tonight.
Take care all. Diane S
Dog sex sort of? She must be pregnant if she is hungry, LOL!
