3 hours of sleep last night - I think because I am ticking off eldest DDs last days in my head as I seem to each year. Today was the day of her emergency surgery due to an intestinal blockage. 6 hours in surgery and within a week we learned that her cancer was terminal. Sixteen years ago, but it still weighs me down.
On a brighter note, Mike and I got our first vaccine dose. Publix pharmacy was SO EFFICIENT! Easy here in Mike's part of Florida but people are still struggling to get appointments in my part of Florida. We are already at the beach and I am planning to be snoring in my chair in an hour or two.
Have a safe and healthy day and take the vaccine when you can get it!

I had a great lunch with my friend yesterday, though it was nippy to be outside in California (I feel a bit sheepish telling DD living on the tundra that it was cold... no sun and 57). They had the heaters on and we were bundled up. We were there for 4 hours! I think both of us are starved for someone to talk to. They didn't need the table, so we weren't in anyone's way.
Ferg had an eye appointment scheduled for tomorrow, but I got a call this morning that nearly the whole practice is sick, so his appointment was pushed off until end of next month. I had noticed that Ferg's eye has a red glow to it now rather than the blue I remembered it, which I was going to bring up at his appointment, so they had me send them pictures for the techs to look at.
The pool/fountain leak people are coming at 11 today, so fingers crossed whatever they find isn't a major fix.
I need to walk today as I skipped yesterday.
I think that's it. I should probably go run a brush through my hair and teeth (different brushes, to be clear )...
Liz, condolences can never express enough for what you lost. You honor her by continuing to be an awesome Mom to her siblings and by leading a meaningful life.
I have happy vaccination news myself, I GOT APPOINTMENTS FOR MY PARENTS!!!! I cried. These absolutely ridiculous systems, I found a link to a rural pharmacy chain that has been tapped to provide vaccines in what we call the outstate area. All day long I kept hitting refresh and 2 appointments would pop up or 4, mostly along the Canadian border. One opening popped up in a little farm town that I recognized as being about a 2 hour drive from my parents house. I grabbed it for my Mom. I kept looking for one for my Dad anywhere. One popped up a couple hours later for the same town, same day, and I got it!!!!!! This Friday!!! Hence the tears of relief.
Congratulations on the appointments! This is all so crazy. I sent a note to my SILs asking if they wanted to come here but one SIL replied confidently that she expected that she would be eligible in two weeks and she thought there were lots of appointments. This is completely contrary to what I have seen reported by the news and via FB and other comments from friends in Massachusetts. I hope things do get better there and she is right.

There were hundreds, like over 600 appointments available through this pharmacy chain in North Dakota. The highest number of appointments for Minnesota on the site at any one time was 11. 10 of this were in a little town in Minnesota that is surrounded by Canada. I see no rhyme or reason, but if you are over 65 and can get to North Dakota, there's a vaccine waiting at one of the Thrifty White Pharmacies.
Greetings All
A somewhat busy day for me starting with running Tesla to the vet for a second blood draw to determine her ideal breeding days. Methinks it will be Friday or so. Then home to scrub globs of goo off the carpet. Somewhere I stepped in some greasy black stuff and got blobs all over the carpet. Of course I blamed DH at first but the evidence was on my shoes! I think it was down at the studio as its an industrial area and no telling what lurks down there. Shoes have been scrubbed. No clue what it is but probably petroleum based. Ick. Worst part of the carpet scrubbing is that its hard to get up!
We are watching a spooky series called "Servant". Very interesting. And we started the new Brian Cranston series Your Honor. Also good. Also watching Zoey's Incredible Playlist which is fun. And the impeachment trial today was enthralling. Do you think we watch too much tv?
Liz sorry you are in a rough patch with your memories of DD. Thinking of you.
Kudos to all of you who have your vaccines. None yet for us. We signed up on some list but I think one must be proactive. DD has some kind of zoom medical appointment and will ask our primary care what to do.. DD we may in fact have to come to north dakota.
Uh oh, DH is reporting more carpet blobs in our bedroom. Plus peanuts spilled by me.

Good Morning All - just scraped in... Home by 11.15pm last night and I was super tired. Dizzy Vertigo feeling as I went off to sleep and I havent felt 100% this morning but have taken some meds and pushing through it . Simply put - I dont have time for another round of vertigo and hope my body listens.....
Spent a chunk of this morning sorting out all the admission forms for Eldest DS to get his 4 wisdom teeth removed. His father will take him in next Tuesday as he has the day off. Had to prepay the oral surgeon and anaesthetist- even with top cover we are out of pocket nearly 2K OUCH ! But he needs to have them removed so it is what it is. Both my sons had extensive orth work done and apparently the wisdom teeth could undermine this - not risking that.
Have picked a lot of Vegetables from our garden - battling rats - they have even eaten the tops out of the carrots. Have re-set the traps so fingers crossed I catch more of them. Have lots of tomatos in the fridge so they will be made into chutney and homemade sauce once DH comes home and can help - its a big job.
This afternoon I will pop out and pick up a work bench for DH then looking forward to a quiet night at home with the puppies. I will head to the farm tommorrow once I finish work with the dogs and the chooks. My SIL had to put her beloved dog to sleep a couple of days ago so will go spend some time with her. Shes exceptionally sad. They become so much part of the family.
Liz - Thinking of you lots. Watching my parents pain with my sisters passing was horrendous. I was a mother by then and could relate. May she rest in peace x
DD - Wonderful news that your parents got vacination apts. I cant believe its such a "bun fight" to secure them- it shouldnt be like this and adds another layer of stress in an already dreadful situation. Big Hugs to you
Cec - Hope the repair bill isnt ugly - everything crossed here
Diane O - so happy you and DC have a short break to look forward too. A change in scenery is wonderful and lifts mental health ten fold.
Diane S - Good luck with the carpet - that sounds like quite a task. Crossing everything for a successful breeding of Tesla
Hello to all that follow
Well I had best keep working. DS has just left to go to his fathers till Tuesday after his surgery. I trimmed and tidied his beard and got everything organised. Hes a wonderful help for me - we picked vegetables this morning, he picked up parcels and ran some errands. Makes life a lot easier
Have a wonderful evening and sending you all a parcel of Aussie Sunshine xx
