Tom Brady and Tampa won! Unbelievable, especially with how they stayed ahead essentially the whole game. I am not a big sports watcher but enjoy the SuperBowl when somebody I know is in it and seeing Brady and Gronk playing so well together was really cool. The other quarterback (Mahomes?) is so young, he will definitely have his day(s) in the future.

SuperBowl eating is done. Not much left that is bad other than the football whoopie pies. I need to ignore them!

Today is 16 years since DD landed in the hospital for the last time. I still tick through the last weeks in my head.

Thursday we took a field trip to Cocoa Beach and today I think we will check out Jupiter Beach. I don't know any of the areas on the East coast here, and Mike has never gone on field trips the way I do. It is kind of fun exploring together.

Have a safe and healthy Monday!

I feel like I'm living in Groundhogs Day. Started working, have a ton to do, but no motivation.

We don't have super bowl leftovers either. I made risotto and a salad for dinner, and dh and dd had seconds and finished it up. Guess it was good. :)

Plans: So work, try to eat for good quality life, Nordic track, make dinner. Repeat all week.

Weight 192. While I spent a few days under 191 this week, the iron won out. But I still did good for the week (I thought my low number was Monday and had gained, but it came after). So I?m down 1.2 for the week, 30.2 overall. 4 left to pre-Covid.

I walked 2 miles last night and am heading out to walk with my friend in a minute. Ooh, running later than I thought. Will come back if I have more!

I'm back... we walked 3 miles and had lots of laughs and friend therapy. The best kind of walk.

I wanted to add that I got targeted by a flexibility program ad on Instagram and bought it (I know, sucker!). I am unbelievably inflexible and he claimed anyone can become flexible with practice. So I did the first video last night and wow, I was not overestimating how unbendy I am! Even with the accommodations he gave, I could barely do the exercises. At one point he said to lay down on your back on the floor (not even one of the exercises, just getting into the position for the exercises). I even struggled to lay flat! Either my head had to be up or my knees had to be up. It took over a minute to get my entire body to touch the ground all the way down. I'm basically a hunched Quasimodo, which he claims is because of inflexibility in your muscles. It'll be interesting to see if I can make any improvements.

On the skin front, I have developed a really itchy rash on my neck (contact dermatitis from the retinol neck cream). Nothing is easy! I haven't put any on it since Thursday, but I'm still red and itchy and look like I've been garroted as my two horizontal neck lines are bright red. I seem to be getting more allergic to things as I get older after a lifetime of not being allergic to anything. My mom did too in middle age. Argh! Between my hives, new nasal allergies and now dermatitis, I'm not encouraged.

I would love to know about the flexibility program. I, too, lack flexibility. I attribute most of that to my excess weight, but I have had tight hips my entire life. I have shorter, bulky muscles in my legs, which I think is the main cause. On top of my natural physique, I don't stretch the way I ought to!

When youngest DD took gymnastics as a child they told me that though she was very strong which was a plus her natural inflexibility would keep her from going very far in the sport. They maintained that basically some body types are naturally flexible and some are not. I am like DD (and apparently Cecily and Devon).

Good Morning All

Late getting here but I made it. DH left at 6am for another busy day. We had a lovely dinner out by the River last night with his workmates. Delicious Eye Fillet steak - I really enjoyed it. Tonight is my last night here so I got to pick the venue - we are going Thai. Should be nice. Went for a big walk with DH once he got back yesterday along the river. So pretty and got my 11,000 steps in so that made me happy. I popped out once I finished work and grabbed a few things for DH.

This morning has been very relaxed. I organised a sympathy card for one of the team that had to leave yesterday morning as his Mother passed away. Have just arranged flowers to be delivered to his home as well from us all. I think it helps to know people are thinking of you during difficult times.

Not sure what I will do once I finish work today. All the chores are done - not much when you are staying in an apartment. I have shopped till I dropped and really dont think there is much more I want/need to see. I will walk with DH and likely some of the team after they finish - so I might be indulgent and go for a spa and swim. The hotel has a lovely pool and spa on the 5th floor. Or I might just curl up for a cheeky nanna nap. Nice to have relaxing choices. That will end when I get home as I have a big TO DO list and will be driving to the farm Friday evening to check on everything

Hope you all have a wonderful evening

S

It sounds like you are getting some good down time. You need it after recent events!

Well, here it is Monday. I have not left the house. I am working from home as much as possible this week since it will be my last week of optional at home teaching. IF all goes as planned tonight, we will get the mandate to be back in our classrooms next Tuesday to begin preparing to welcome children back into the classroom - albeit in a lockdown, cellblock type of classroom.

Had a tough day yesterday, mood-wise. Cranky, edgy, *****y, moments of underlying anxiety. Got over it, but, booooooo!

I don't do bored and hungry well. I can be occupied and never think about food, but boy if I'm a bit bored or unoccupied or unmotivated, I sure do want to eat - hungry or not. So would you call that bored hungry or hungry bored? I guess bored hungry. Two of my afflictions now identified: bored hungry and transition feeding.

Ceci, thanks!

My take on the SuperBowl.... Tom Brady has aged exquisitely! Damn! That is all! LOL!

Bored eating is a huge problem for me. I think I have transferred my addiction to the iPad from food during boredom for the time being. Not necessarily healthier, but fewer calories...
