Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, 2021

Super Bowl party for 2 today! The club here offered take-out food (ordered ahead) for Super Bowl so we took advantage and are getting Chili. I am making guacamole. More than we need, but not horrible.

It is WINDY and humid here with a potentially violent thunderstorm due in a couple of hours. Justice is already nervous. Luckily all the storms should subside by the time of the game in Tampa. Cape Cod is getting a snowstorm today, then possibly Tuesday and Friday. I am so glad I am not there.

Mike somewhat wishes he could go home for his eldest daughter's birthday next weekend. She is celebrating with his other daughter so he feels a bit left out. He has also been shaken up about the two FBI agents killed this week in Miami. His son knew them and was on duty at the funerals this weekend. Sort of brought home how dangerous a law enforcement job is.

I am hoping to be able to get Justice out at least for a walk around the block before the rain starts, but the skies look really threatening right now.

Have a safe and healthy SuperBowl Sunday!

Weight 192.8. Up again. I may need intervention... Walked 3 miles last night.

Yesterday was productive. I was looking for some house paperwork for my dad's house (which I never found, I think he has it), but I went through all my stacks of forgotten paperwork from multiple spots in the house (some very buried under other things). I found all the receipts for things I've done to my house, which I'll need when I get around to selling. Whew. I feared it was all lost. In my next life I am probably going to be an anal retentive record keeper to make up for my disorganization in this life. I still had all the paperwork from my last house I sold in 2006. I was able to pitch/shred so much and organize what was left.

Today I might sort through some of what I dislodged to get to the paperwork. Maybe see if I can fill a trash can for tomorrow. It's in my junk room where the door is usually closed so I don't have to see it.

Anyway, that's all I've got!

Yeah on finding the paperwork! That was probably a little mental clutter too, thinking about it, and now that's also tidied up.

Your work to get your house ready has me looking around and thinking, why do we have all this junk? Could we ever get this house ready to sell? Dumpsters would most likely be needed.

Very much so!

It's been interesting to shift my thinking from keeping things because they are already in my house to evaluating whether those things are worth moving to another house. Such a difference between the two!

I have so much to go through though still. It's daunting! Thankfully no dumpster required for me, but untold numbers of trips to Salvation Army still to come.

The death of those agents was so sad. It's easy to forget that the FBI deals with very dangerous criminals who have as many resources as they do.

When you have dangerous weather is there a shelter you can go to? After seeing tornados on the ground with my own eyes, I never rented or lived in house without a basement. I realize basements aren't a thing in Florida. My parents have hurricane ties on their Florida house, and we bought them a weather alert radio back in the day.

It's -9 right now. I stepped outside for 30 seconds to grab my newspaper off the driveway. I took a couple gulps of outside air, and whew! feel the burn.

I ended up doing a few things yesterday, some laundry, some tidying up, went through my athleisurewear and put some things in a donate pile. AKA, my work clothes. I need to go through my other clothes too. I'm not wearing anything from my real work clothes often enough to wear them out so the natural cycle of things leaving the house is interrupted.

My daughter is buying a lot of things on poshmark. I like the idea of buying recycled clothes. She's purchased some really nice things like a Ralph Lauren suit, and some awesome winter coats. When she arrived last March, she came with one suitcase, thinking she would stay until May or so. Ha. So between taking some hand me downs from me, and ordering things online, she built a Minnesota wardrobe. She has another wardrobe in Massachusetts. Who knows when the two will be combined and she will go to her other home.

Not really to celebrate the super bowl, but I will make risotto for dinner tonight. That's about it for our plans. DH will definitely watch. I'll probably join him with a book.

Had a pretty nice day yesterday. Nice workout in the late morning. Did legs and then parted out my arms. I rarely isolate muscles in my arms, so that was kind of fun for a change. My glutes are feeling the work from yesterday, that's for sure.

No SuperBowl on my schedule. Not my thing anyway and this year it just seems rather anticlimactic. I know a few people who will be very upset if the Chiefs don't win, but I'm kinda of rooting for Tampa since they never, ever seem to get any recognition. Plus, I kind of like Brady - Deflate gate and all.... LOL

I am having a bit of a dilemma about the stability of my weight. Yeah, right???? Who gets in a tizz over maintaining his weight within a two pound range for 3-4 months? Apparently, I do. LOL! I think part of my "stuff" is that I'm somewhat at odds with my NUT because she wants me to still focus on changing some behaviors and I want to really start losing weight. BUT, and this is a big BUT, there is a little voice inside saying, "She knows what she's doing. Have faith in her methods. Chill.... weight loss will come. Plus, are you really ready???"

I do think I did do a good job the other week at experimenting at building the "Pep's Weight Loss Program". I did drop 2 pounds that week. Sadly, this week they came back. Oh well... easy off, easy on.

Ceci, you are my current hero for decluttering and getting **** done around the house. I can never begin to approach the Liz and Ocean Diane, let alone Shirl, level of daily accomplishment. But you are my role model for attainable domestic goals!

Finishing up a rare second cup of coffee and will now fix something to eat. Happy Sunday and happy football to those who will watch.

Ha! I think we can all agree that Shirley puts every one of us to shame on that front!

As someone who has rarely maintained, I think 3-4 months is fantastic!

Good Morning All from Sunny Brisbane,

Didnt make it here yesterday due to being busy. Hugely social weekend. DH & I didnt get home from seeing our old neighbours till after midnight - which is 1am Melbourne time. Showers and washing meant it was late hop into bed. We woke and then walked to a craft market by the river then onto breakfast. Picked up some fruit from the supermarket. We went to DH Bosses house in Gold Coast for a BBQ. I cant arrive empty handed (my upbringing) so had chopped up a huge container of fruit. It was a nice day. They live in a community that backs onto a series of canals. Its relaxing by the water. Did a little shopping on the way home and filled up the hire car - I will return to the hire company shortly.

DH and his workmates left for work at 6am and I started work from the apartment. Its blissfully quiet. I need some downtime - all peopled out for a bit. Isnt it funny how you loose your coping mechanisms as a result of covid. We have been out for meals, visiting etc etc and I crashed last night. Was in bed by 8pm - just needed to be still and have quiet time. Sadly one of the guys mothers passed overnight - she has been in pallative care and he went home to say goodbye last weekend. Feel for him - hes organising flights home now. May she Rest In Peace.

Today will just be work, return the car and then I will take myself off for an explore after I finish work - prior to the guys getting home. Im thinking I might try and change my flight on Wednesday to an earlier one if possible as DH is working till around 10pm. Gets me back to Melbourne and tucked up into bed before midnight hopefully

So thats my day

Liz - Sorry to hear about Mikes sons workmates - terrible. Enjoy the superbowl

Cec - You are so organised and indeed put me to shame ! I am trying to take a leaf out of your book at home - started sorting thru boxes and giving away a lot of stuff that I refuse to move again. How much stuff does one need - I ask myself that every item I pick up......

Peps - Your Sunday sounds lovely :) Enjoy

DD- Ohhhhh -9 brrrrr we have 33 degrees (91F) today - it rained last night so it is a little steamy but that should burn off. I find I cope better with the humidity since I lost my weight. Prior to that I would be a slimy mess with my clothes sticking to me

I had best go and get some more work done :) Have a wonderful Sunday and stay safe x

I feel like Covid has decreased my social stamina (not that I've really had time to try it out) and I'm more introverted, so I understand totally your need for quiet after all the fun.
