I HAVE A VACCINE APPOINTMENT! And Mike does too. The first is this coming Wednesday morning. Such a relief! I will have to reschedule my second appointment when I go in as it is the day before I return from Massachusetts but that shouldn't be a big deal. I think I mentioned that I am going back for 4 days for my son's 30th birthday.

Mike and I had a fantastic day celebrating 6 months yesterday. We drove along the coast to Cocoa Beach which neither of us had been to and ate at an open air restaurant on the water. For dinner, we went to a local very high-end restaurant near here and ate in the beautiful garden. Wonderful food, wine, service and of course company. And Mike gave me this really unique necklace. That was a big surprise. I will post a picture on TT.

Today is walking, beach club, and dinner here. Maybe watching episode 5 of the Undoing. Great show!

Have a safe and healthy day!

Weight 192. I think those iron supplements are seriously slowing up the works. I walked 3 miles yesterday.

I got my teeth cleaned yesterday and had the nicest hygienist. I asked her if she had gotten her vaccine yet thinking it would be a relief for her given she's in people's open mouths all day long and I was surprised when she said she was waiting. She's eligible, but said she'd feel more comfortable with a more tested vaccine technology like they use for the flu. So she's holding off for the Novavax one as she was not comfortable with the mRNA versions. She explained her reasoning in a really thoughtful way. Her brother is a chemical engineer who is on the Novavax team ushering it through the FDA process, so she sounded very well informed - not putting down the current vaccines, but not wanting to be one of the first herself. Fascinating to me to hear from someone in a vulnerable job making that decision. And she was maybe 10 or more years older than me, so closer to age eligible too. Given my eligibility is so far out I can't even dream about it, I just find other people's vaccine decision making really interesting (though I don't pretend to understand people who don't ever want it no matter what).

I'm thinking another walk today and maybe calling some house painters to schedule estimates. The leak people are already proving to be flaky. My therapist said there wasn't a need for me to come twice a week anymore, so no therapy today. Yay. Feeling more sane already.

Clean teeth, clean house, nothing on the calendar... It's starting out to be a good day!

Interesting on the vaccine. I feel pretty comfortable about it but everyone has to weigh it for themselves.

Iron binds me up too. Some aren't supposed to be as bad that way. You could ask on the RNY thread as most of them have to do heavy supplementation.

Yeah, I think enough people have had it that the current ones aren't scary to me and I am of the mind the more people in the population who are vaccinated no matter who they are, the better off we all are.

Vaccines, who knew they would consume us so much. I had some dental work a few months back, and the staff didn't seem too concerned, but I felt concern for them. I need to get my eyes checked too, but that's so face to face seems like not the best idea yet.

So I had a pt appointment today, and yes, I have some edema in my breast and right arm. Whether it's lymphedema or not is still up for debate, but it's recommended that I get it treated. That would be sessions 3 times a week, for 4 weeks, so 12 visits total. It's unlikely I have lymphedema from losing one lymph node in surgery, but the location of the radiation could have compromised my lymphatic system in that area. Cancer, the gift that keeps on giving.

A polar vortex is moving in, bringing some days that will stay subzero. I think we have what we need so I don't need to leave the house. The upside to a polar vortex is you often get bright sun. It was very cozy in the sun in my office this afternoon.

There are now some rumblings that we won't be going back to school on the 22nd. One administrator insinuated not, another I talked with today was making plans with me as though we are. It's in 2 weeks, they need to decide!
