So nice to see you Shirl!

I will probably keep some masks around after this is all done to keep my face warm in winter. My daughter claims she will never go on the T in Boston again without one and says I can't believe we were all breathing on each other. Double masking hmm... I think I have lots of multi layered masks that fit well. We are going to be wearing masks and shields at work when we return.

Today when I went to the doctor I tried double masking for the elevator and high congestion areas. My sil, who has cancer most likely got covid during one of her medical visits. I suspect the changing rooms for MRI. If they're not monitoring or cleaning in between, it would be very easy for someone to deliberately take their mask off or bump it off while changing, it happened to me at radiation. If I had covid I could have unintentionally left aerosols behind. But anyhow, I soooo need to not get covid and have to cancel my vacation, so I'm being a bit excessive. Double masking vs. Mask and shield, I prefer the shield combo. I think one mask sounds like it's sufficient if everyone is wearing one, but adding a filter or shield protects you better from those around you who will not/cannot wear one.

I really liked the new doctor I had a consult with today. She was young, actually kind of adorable with a bouncy ponytail, and took her time, asked good questions, and caught a detail in my bone density scan no one else had pointed out yet. My annual physical is due in July, so I will see her for a full physical then.

My clinic system is affiliated with the University of Minnesota. I've been very happy with their care. But they didn't have an oncology clinic in my town, which is why my surgeon referred me to the independent clinic I'm going to. It's the only healthcare I get out of my clinic's system. My pt, breast health clinic, PCP, surgeons (sleeve, hysterectomy and cancer), my WLS clinic, the endocrinologist I'm going to see, are all in the same system. Well they do have an oncology clinic about 30 minutes from my house. If I don't switch to Mayo I'm going to switch to this oncologist clinic. It's not a problem to do that drive and have continuity of care. So overall I'm feeling much better about my options for healthcare.

Well time to jump on the Nordic Track!
