Today would have been my mother's 97th birthday. Happy Birthday in heaven!
Mike and I had a good beach day yesterday, then stopped at the home of friends he hasn't seen since he divorced 16 years ago. The wife used to be best friends with Mike's ex-wife but they are no longer in touch. To Mike's surprise not only were the couple there but also another high school classmate of his. Such friendly and nice people! I felt so welcomed and boy do they love Mike. They reinforced my impression of how kind and caring he has always been along with his drive to succeed in his job over the years. I guess he was quite the handsome devil in his suits, but I only see him in complete casual wear. LOL!
Today I think we are hitting the beach again, then maybe an early dinner at a restaurant near it since we didn't do that yesterday. Mike will go back to his place tomorrow morning.
Have a safe and healthy day!

Not much to report here. I explained to my dad that he could get Covid shots here (just need a bill to prove address) and id for age, but he was not interested and wants to wait for MI in March. He's not an anti-vaxxer, so I don't understand why he'd want to wait. Irritating.
SkinWatch2021: 3rd application of retinol and my skin is so soft! But still peeling a lot.
No plans today other than a walk and a shower and another cup of coffee. My first cup, I ran the Keurig and forgot to put a mug under it. Did I mention I'm not a morning person? Thankfully the tray holds a whole mug, so clean up was easy. Exciting Sunday! And tonight I will put the trash out to not have a repeat of missing the trash truck last week.
I have slept copious amounts this weekend. I can't say that I have pushed myself in any physical way to need so much sleep, must be stressed related. It feels reparative though,so I'm going with it.
Yesterday, DH and I watched some David Bowe documentary in between my naps. DD went to a friend's apartment in Minneapolis for the day, and we picked her up in the evening. Drove by lots of our favorite places, hope they will still be here this spring or whenever things can open up more freely.
Today, also low key. I finished reading the Sunday paper, always a favorite. Tomorrow is a workshop day, no students, just time to grade etc as semester 1 finished on Friday.
Saliva testing for district employees starts tomorrow. It will be offered e/o week. Arguing with myself about going. It's not required, and I'm not going to be teaching in person for a few more weeks. Maybe it would be good to have a reason to leave the house for a bit. On the other hand, do I want to stand in a line waiting for my turn, even if it is socially distanced? I'll continue to mull it over.
