Welcome to the weekend! I am still at Mike's, but probably heading back to my place tomorrow for a few days. It is still cool for swimming, but should warm up mid-week, so I will probably come back to Mike's at that point. The pool in my park has been completely replaced over the last couple of months and won't reopen until 1/31.

I talked to a friend this morning who is very worried about possible violence this week. I so hope it doesn't happen. I also touched base with Paula *****ported that things are going well.

Today is the final anniversary of the funeral rites for Paul as it was the day he was buried. So all the first anniversaries are done after today. Paula wondered why she hadn't seen pictures of Mike and I recently. As you know I was assessing our relationship over the holiday and since I returned felt that any pictures on FB should be memories of Paul.

Not much else going on other than taking walks (with sweatshirts on).

Have a safe and healthy day!

Weight up a tick, 195.8

Threw a load of laundry in and I'm walking soon with a friend. I walked last night too and have been trying to practice good posture while I do it (tall girl syndrome, mine is awful) and move quickly. I'm actually sore this morning. Probably a good sign that I'm activating unused muscles.

I started watching The Undoing on HBOMax. Really good thriller/murder mystery with lots of twists and turns with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.

Still making progress on the clean out. Got rid of several bags of mulch on NextDoor and filled another box for Salvation Army. I'm also taking apart two big Lego sets that were gifts and fun like puzzles to put together, but goodness, what do you do with them afterwards?? I might try to sell them. But the smaller one I took apart last night took over an hour and a half to deconstruct and was not at all fun in reverse.

I also gave Ferg a bath yesterday. Talk about a work out. Now that I think on it, that may be why I'm sore. He needed lifting in and out of the tub and couldn't stand for that long, so all of his hind end washing was with me holding up the back half of a 90 pound dog with one arm and scrubbing/rinsing with the other. By the end I was soaked in sweat and dirty dog water. He needed it in the very worst way though. He's not a smelly dog thank goodness, but he was filthy and it traps hair that only seems to really brush out after a good bath. I've already brushed out a ton, but today will see a good deal more.

Anyway, I should get ready to walk. Hope everyone has a nice day.

It is when I'm out walking that I notice just how bad my posture is. Aligning my head, shoulders, and hips straight under my legs- and boom- I'm taller and also then realize how much better I can deeply breath. Problem is that after pulling everything right and breathing correctly, it isn't but a few minutes later I am all amiss again. Bad habits are hard to break!

I bet Ferg looks real nice and fluffy.

That could very well be Ferg and his fur pile!

And you're so right about posture correction. I fix it, take a few steps and I find I'm already slumping again. It feels so unnatural! Especially my head being upright and not chicken pecking forward.

I'm feeling a parallel somewhere in there to poor eating habits. When what should be normal is not and what's normal and comfortable is the wrong bit...

Taking walks in full winter gear here- including snow pants (not for the snow, but against the wind which can be brutal). I don't mind bundling up except for the time it takes to dress out.

All ready today for visitors- sister and niece will be here for the weekend. Planning salmon in a red coconut curry, broccoli and cheesy grits casserole for tonight. There will be lots of chitter-chatting. Anticipating fun times to be had by all.

I am a slug. Hoping to kick it into gear here pretty soon. Grey day, leftover ice on the roads from a winter storm yesterday, a combination of freezing rain and snow. Should I discover I need to go to the store, it probably won't happen. We will make due.

I'm taking the Facebook advice and turning off the news. I already didn't weigh myself today because I wanted to stay in my jammies and drink my tea snuggled up in blankets. Thus there was never that au natural moment without ingested fluids.

More squirrel antics in the yard this morning, but very few birds. Yes, my life has come to this. Super excited Netflix released season 4 of Last Tango in Halifax. I also finally got into Schit$ Creek. My daughter told me a lot of people thought the first episodes were slow, but as promised, it did get better, and I'm now loling with the rest of the fandom.

Our local newspaper published the upcoming season for the touring Broadway shows in Minneapolis. I ran to my computer to research season tickets, but nothing offered yet. We decided that instead of relying on educator rush, we will buy season tickets with the $ we've saved not going to any shows for soooooo long. Hope springs eternal that there will indeed be a season this fall.

I soooo love David on Schitt's Creek! His anxiety mirrors a lot of mine, but is much, much funnier! Good to know about Last Tango. I think I stopped at season 2 but liked it.

Also, admiration for all the walks people are getting in. I literally have not been outside since Wednesday. Planning on going out on the porch today to take down some Christmas stuff. Will count as going outside I guess.

Posture: I just read a tip to take a step or two backwards when you're slouching. Apparently it causes you to adjust your posture. I am trying it while I walk around the house. It does seem to help.
