Good morning! Thought I'd start us off. I'm feeling good about my eating, I'm tracking, I'm not using all my points, I'm drinking water, but my weight stays the same every morning, to the exact tenth of a pound. I've weighed myself holding things, just to make sure the scale isn't stuck at this measurement, it is not. I don't know what else to do but carry on. I'm eating good food, that's providing me with nutrition, so that continues to be a positive. For example, yesterday I had cottage cheese and blueberries, a piece of 2 point toast and an egg, a grapefruit, a frontiers chicken power bowl, air fried salmon and Brussels sprouts, a cup of milk, and a 5 point bag of peanuts...

The events occurring in our country are demoralizing. If I were younger I would consider immigrating to places that have better quality of life measurements like Finland, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Sweden... everything just feels too broken right now. Normally I am optimistic that things can change, that better angels will prevail in the end. I don't like conspiracy theories, but now, reading about the plans for armed protests at every state capitol.... I tell myself I'm being silly, but I feel uneasy about even going to my oncologist appointment on the 20th. As if there will be any unrest at a suburban doctors office or on the 10 minute drive there and back. But all the rhetoric has got me jumpy.

Have a good Tuesday, stay safe and keep a good thought if you can.

Hear, hear! Maybe if enough good thoughts could be generated and launched into the great cosmos... (I wonder sometimes if God is just waiting to hear from enough of the world that they are in agreement with his will that there be "peace and good will toward men" before he moves. He's just waiting for us to learn from our mistakes. Until then we (collectively and corporately) can just stew in the caustic juices of our own making).

In the meantime, Canada sounds good to me. Just how does that work for retired folks?

When I got serious about a rather large regain (about 125# over 2.5 years) it took a full three weeks for my body to get adjusted to the new, healthy regimen- scales didn't move down hardly at all. My body wanted so badly to stay just where it was at and fought hard against the change. Carry on with just what you are doing! Any extra weight cannot hold out for too long before submitting to consistent-daily-healthy exercise and eating.

Daily effort over time Will take us where we want to go! Less waffling-more consistency! (Take your own advise, Bonnie!)

Thinking good thoughts and sending them your way!

Bonnie, you offer the good thoughts I am longing for. I will hold onto them.

Canada will most likely not take us, darn. Maybe if we agreed to teach. The best we could hope for is one of our children immigrated, and then sent for us under family reunification. Personally, I loved Toronto!

I also NEVER thought that the United States could ever be in this situation. We can only hope things improve over the next year or so.

I agree with Miss150 that it takes a while for weight to start dropping after eating is modified. And I often see a drop followed by a gain, but an overall downward trend once it does move (if I am sticking to plan).

Weight 131 (drop, then gain). At least it still isn't higher than when I left at Christmas. Speaking of which, I took the Christmas things down here in Florida this morning. A relief, though sad.

And absence truly makes the heart grow fonder! I didn't miss Mike much over the almost 4 weeks I didn't see him because I think we had been together too much prior to that at this point in our relationship. We had such a terrific time together this weekend that it really rekindled my feelings (his too I think), so now I miss him a lot today. We already talked about that though. 3-4 days a week together at most right now!

Have a safe, healthy, and encouraging day!

A little spot of brightness today. I moved the bird feeders close to some trees and brush, and threw some seed on the ground underneath. I can see them from my office window. Birds are visiting all morning. Also squirrels, but I won't begrudge them the tidbits on the ground. They can't get to the feeder the pole is too skinny/smooth for them to climb, and the feeder is squirrel proof. Watching the birds flit about makes me happy.

Weight up a little today. 196. Seems to do that right after my weigh in day. And I didn't walk yesterday. Have to get on that today!

My dad and his wife are heading to MN today for his Mayo check. Praying he's doing well and that the chemo bladder infusions he got last quarter did their job. I'm keeping their dog while they're gone and they're flying in and out of the airport close to me.

I just looked at the weather, it's heading up to 86 later this week. Yuck! We need rain and it seems it's going to be scarce this winter. A strong La Nina generally means very dry for us. Boo. Our local NWS jokingly calls it the Ridge of Death - high pressure keeping every cloud away from us.

Probably should go think about getting dressed...

I hope the Mayo has good news. Cecilys Dad is less than 200 miles from my house. Sending good thoughts and prayers his way.

Veritable heatwave here- 51, sunny, and no breeze. May any anxiety your dad may have vanish upon a solid NED report with happiness quickly following.!
