Quick post - a lot to mull over from the last couple of days. It is quite cool and windy here. Not unusual in south Florida in January, but it seems like there have been more of these days strung together than usual. Tonight we are supposed to go to an outdoor music performance. We might be frozen.
Mike and I had a really great day yesterday. We really are reconnecting this weekend.
Oh, last thing. I was recently invited to be on the Talbots Advisory Board and completed my first "assignment" this morning which involved reviewing a future catalog, answering multiple choice questions about it and providing comments. It was kind of fun!
Have a safe, healthy and civil day.

Weight up .2
Up early for the pergola guys. Hopefully all goes smoothly.
Fought more cravings last night. Normally I'm not hungry at night. I'm wondering if it's hormonal? I use a cycle tracking thing on my phone, so I added the two hungry days so far on it. I'll see if it happens again next month...
My county has set up 3 sites for mass vaccinations, starting with healthcare, care home workers, dentists, fire/police, etc. One is by my house. The car line is miles long. Even though they all have appointments, people are waiting 3-5 hours. A lot of time is being spent turning away people who are not eligible - i.e. people not included in the first tier and people from other counties. I suppose it's good that folks want it as the news likes to sensationalize all the people turning it down, but it takes little effort to read the list of those currently eligible.
I was on NextDoor and there was a post from the county about the vaccinations and resulting traffic and this one woman posted like 20 times saying she needed it now it as she was 52 and diabetic (not eligible) and where was the site, she was going to show up and get one, they had to give her one because she was diabetic, she was going to make them give her one... On and on and on. It was very clear her tier is 3 away from what they're doing now (and only one up from the "aaaand everyone else" tier I'm in), but hers won't start until late Feb at the earliest and that is super questionable at the current rate. Lots of people answered her trying to explain where she fell, but she wouldn't back down. As a rule follower with decent reading comprehension skills who would never even think of jumping any line, I find people like that very frustrating. I suppose it's desperation and fear. God bless the people manning the front of the line who have to turn away people like that who've been unnecessarily waiting for 5 hours. I shudder as I'm very non-confrontational too.
Anyway, work has commenced out back and the neighbor's dog does not approve. Fergus is unmoved by their presence, but wouldn't turn down a scritch from them.
Hope you all have good days!

I totally agree. In my mind I was thinking she needed a good movie slap across the kisser (a la Cher to Nicholas Cage in Moonstruck) to snap her out of it!
I find I've been very angry lately at people, situations, life, etc. so I'm trying to take a breath and see things from the other side (and turn off negative inputs like news and social media). I don't want to be an angry, negative person!
Liz, The Talbot board sounds fun. I like looking at stuff online for ideas, but I really miss shopping, seeing the fabric and colors in person, and trying things on.
We skyped with my Aunt and Uncle in Massachusetts last night. They have a garage that has doors on both ends (previous owner used it for their boat), so they set up a Casbash lounge for social distance entertaining. I love it!
Not much planned for today. Everything is covered with hoar frost (weird name) today. It's so beautiful. Always a treat when that happens.
I must have absolutely nothing I need to be doing today (not) so, off to internet trivial pursuit-
Hebrew used here to notate a person in their 70's as in aged beyond their sixties (an age when duties, work, are turned over to youth- (retirement- still active). By the time a person turned 70 usefulness/ activity ceases- ancient)
Your hoar-frost refers to the color--white or gray

So interesting!! I'm kind of obsessed with learning word origins. My English friend and I are always trading them. The funny thing is that a lot of American-English words are the originals, while the English-English ones are the newer ones. Just like some historians think American accents are more similar to 16th/17th century English accents than current English accents are. We are apparently more like a time capsule!
One example, she was remarking one time about the word "fall" being so American while the English use "autumn". I happened to be watching something on YouTube about a book on word origins and it turns out "fall" is old Middle English and "autumn" was a later adoption from France that became the default.
My Aussie sister and I like to do this too. Early on there were many classic misunderstandings. She wanted to buy a sloppy joe, I was so confused until I finally figured out it meant sweatshirt. And fanny packs, well that's a whole nother topic..
I read through the list you posted, fun! If I am not getting anything done, at least I learned something today.
