Christmas Eve Day, 2020
Weight 131! And though I wasn't great yesterday, I wasn't horrible. I have to NOT succumb to the thought that since I am already way up over where I wanted I might as well keep eating.
I had weird dreams last night. One in which I and DS got the vaccine. The other was very detailed about DH. We were taking a train to a show in Boston and he wandered away. We couldn't find him (I think SIL was with me) so we were in complete panic. Finally I got a call from someone who he gave his phone to. It took quite a while to figure out the address where he was but somehow he had ended up in Kentucky! We took the train there and once we found him he was holding some of our things which apparently we had given him to hold at the train station, but he was also wearing an expensive coat and fancy flip-flops that weren't his. He had no idea where they came from. Like some dreams I used to have of DD, it gave me some comfort to have a "visit" from him.
Today I need to make cookies and we are going to DS' birth mother's for dinner. Small group who DS has had in his "bubble" all along.
And Cecily, our snow here has melted away so we aren't having a white Christmas on Cape Cod either (Justice is pleased about that).
Have as good a Christmas Eve as you can. Next year should be very different from this year!!!

There was a symphony of snow blowers for my wake up call this morning. The snow total wasn't that high, about 5inches, but it was light fluffy snow, and the winds were fierce, causing white out conditions. Now it is bright, sunny and cold, very cold. Near zero. It's safe to say our snow will be on the ground for the foreseeable future.
Things are pretty under control here. I'm not waking up to my usual Christmas Eve panic, thinking there is so much to do! As always, there is plenty to do, but if I don't get around to it all, it isn't really a big deal. I will miss seeing all the nieces and nephews tonight, and going to Mass, singing Christmas Carols, and how beautiful our Church is decorated. But also, I know my family has been very lucky throughout this pandemic. We all kept our jobs (in fact DH has more overtime opportunities than he wants), and we're all healthy. My elderly parents should be vaccinated in the next month or two.
Never has the Christmas song, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, resonated more. May all our troubles be out of sight this coming year.
Must have been the night for weird dreams. Mine were actually morning dreams. I had one bad dream about being on a bus with Ron, who decided he would not sit with me. Then I got off the bus too early and had to walk across the Canadian border. In the dream the walking was physically challenging.
Awakened by Keira at 6:15ish, I got up and let her out to potty. That got me out of the dream. But I started in on the dream as soon as I went back to sleep. So I woke myself up and even thought about getting up. Drifted back to sleep to have a weird car shopping dream that involved Ron and my dad shopping for Chrysler Pacificas.... Had another one in which my mom was disappointed with me for some reason or other, and lastly, one in which Ron was my also first BF - who was a charmer, but seriously messed up. Oh, and probably one of the worst dreams was Ace got out of BFF's yard and BFF was completely nonchalant about Ace being MIA. I was beside myself.
I woke up feeling like a louse ran over my liver, as dear old mom would say. I'm also feeling unrested. Not a happy way to start my Christmas Eve day!
On the bright side of things, I'm really feeling like this no scale endeavor is a good thing. I think I'm eating better - more conscientiously and purposefully - than I would be otherwise. Since I can't use the scale as my guide I am forced to look at food choices and behavior. Using the scale my non nutritional choices for yesterday I think would seem negligible. But on paper and contrasted to my fruit and vegetable intake, they seem excessive. I had 2 of those little Danish butter cookies -the kind that come in the blue round tin, two pieces of chocolate (both "unplanned"), a dish of ice cream and a slice of bundt cake (both planned). My fruit for the day was banana and an orange. I had a large chopped salad with my dinner.
My workout yesterday was wonderful.
General cleaning and a little wrapping left to do today. Sadly, I do have to go to the grocery store. Though I did a Costco run yesterday, I was unable to find essentials for tonight's dinner there. At least dinner is simple, but absolutely delicious. My brother and pop will miss their annual treat of homemade French Onion soup, I'm sure.
Happy Christmas!
A "louse ran over my liver": LOL! But your mind did got through the wringer last night!

Weight down today from yesterday. But I have low expectations for my weight this week with Christmas dinner looming.
Today I'm making a cherry pie (dad's request). Otherwise, I just need to pick up some dog pills and maybe a walk.
Liz, I'm glad you got a visit! DD, enjoy your white Christmas!
Ooh! Cherry pie! I used to love it but haven't had more than a bite at most since VSG.

Merry Christmas to me!!!!!
The plumber came almost an hour early. He was cheerful, polite and fast! We can now face Christmas with running water (pipe sprung a pinhole leak under the house, which under pressure caused quite a fountain). We have been turning the water on and off for days as we needed it. So happy to have it fixed and for $185!!!!!! I had visions of needing to replace the entire line.
Well, that was enough to get rid of my little louse!
Goodbye louse!
