Happy Birthday Shirl! It doesn't sound like you will be relaxing much with all the cooking, but when do you? Enjoy the day!

Slightly busier day than of late for me as I am getting my hair cut and highlighted, then have a zoom with my Florida friends. Our housekeeper comes today too so I will find errands to do or take a beach wal****il she is done.

I guess tomorrow is the start of Christmas. Seems odd. But DD will come tomorrow and BIL on Christmas. SIL will likely be here as well if she doesn't go to her sons (no discussion about that yet so probably not - they are still baby overwhelmed).

Have a safe and healthy day!

Weight up. Grr. I didn't blow it foodwise, anyway.

The cleaning people are coming today and I still have picking up to do so this will be quick. Therapy today too.

I've been making small inroads on some other piles. The guest room bed downstairs is covered mostly in project supplies. They belong elsewhere so I'll be moving those later today. It's a too easy spot to stack things to get them out of the way and off the floor and then they never get moved as who has had a guest stay over in the last year??

Anyway, I think that's all I have. Shirley, with friends in the US, your birthday is a multi-day event! Hope yesterday was lots of fun my fellow Capricorn.

It is a blue, brisk and blustery day in my neck of the woods.

Though I did not manage to see the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on Monday, I was able to see it last night. It was still pretty bright last night, IMO.

So glad Shirl had a fun b'day with her family and babies! Happy USA birthday today, Shirl!

Day 4 of no scale. I'm strangely aware of my eating and food intake. It is different from a "I'm on a diet to lose weight" awareness. It's a very "step back and observe" awareness. I can't quite explain it, but am finding this change unsettlingly pleasant. I could get used to this.

I am going to brag. My resident food enabler/pusher needed comfort food yesterday after a disappointment and came back to the car with a cinnamon roll and an apple fritter. Even engulfed by the smell, I was able to understand that neither of those foods were planned for me and would not be helpful in maintaining balanced blood sugar and mental stability (cravings). When he asked me if I was going to eat the fritter I said, "No, I'm really focused on working with my Eating Disorder today." That was that. No struggle, no cravings or perseveration. I'm calling that a win. That doesn't mean I didn't eat my non nutritional foods that were "planned". I did, but that situation was a huge win for me yesterday.

I have a workout scheduled today, house cleaning and a shrink appointment at 3:10. (Yes, 3:10.... it's a hang over from when she shared an office with two others and didn't like her clients being piled up with the others for the on the hour appointments.)

Hoping everyone's pre Christmas plans and chores today are merry!

I am jealous that you saw Jupiter/Saturn. It was too overcast both days, though maybe there is a chance to see it tonight.

If the weather cooperates, please make sure to look for it soon after sunset! It's low on the southwest horizon. We got a good look between 5:30 and 6:30.

Thank you all for my US Birthday wishes - how lucky to be able to celebrate over 2 days :)

Up early again for the final work day of 2020. I am finishing at noon and will be requesting that our Engineer do the same. Its been a long year !!!

Had a wonderful day yesterday even though I worked. I made a BBQ Pulled Beef Brisket and homemade slaw - dropped it over at my Bosses house after DSS and his family left. My mum and sons, plus youngest girlfriend all came for tea. It was lovely. Feeling very blessed

Cooking is all done for our family celebration tonight. We are all going to DSS house. I have made a silverside, coleslaw and Choc Mint Choc Ripple Cake. Everyone is bring stuff so it should work well. Mum has made her famous trifle. I will cook the Turkey Thigh today as we are having a cold lunch tommorrow. Its only my mum, eldest son, DH and I Christmas Day so not much to prepare. I have everything we need so not much prep. Very relaxed.

Thinking of you all as you prepare for a very different Christmas this year. Im sure you will join me in my excitement of kicking 2020 to the CURB ! Heres to 2021 being far better and a return to normality. This is my wish for you all

I had best run - have a mountain of work to finalise before I can shut down my PC for the year and just relax

Stay safe everyone

Shirley

A blizzard has started today! It's crazy out there. Once the forecast became clear yesterday, I decided I'd better get up early and go pick up those last minute things I needed for dinner on Christmas. I was in the grocery store before 8, and it was bustling. Not as many as peak shopping on a Saturday afternoon, but many more than typical for morning. I got what I needed, and if I forgot anything, we'll have to make due.

Even without the normal Christmas Eve gang, the pageant goes on. I must just be programmed to keep cranking out the traditional foods. I did leave one appetizer off the menu, and now I'm regretting it!

Peps I think your win is HUGE! You are doing really important work.

Well back to the cookies I'm working on. Lots still to do, even if the big party is not happening. The people who live with me still want to eat, go figure.

Happy Christmas Eve, Eve!

A snowy Christmas! Something I've never experienced ever!
