We're so grateful that we tested negative !! The health department cautioned that we were deemed negative at the moment of testing and to continue to monitor in case we tested too early. I'm thinking seasonal allergies and my adjustment to a new medication. In any event, we'll take it !! It is not going to change any precautions except for being able to leave the house.

Highs in the 30's today, so outside time will be limited. DC applied sheetrock goop (can't think of the word) to his investigatory hole, and after it is sanded, the dust and debris will be behind us. I just have to find where I put the paint sample identifying the wall paint color !

Have a safe and healthy day !

So glad you are negative! Any test is just a measure of that moment in time but the likelihood that you are already having symptoms of Covid but testing negative is unlikely. Interestingly I have been told not to test for 3 months because I should be immune and not contagious but could still test positive. What the test checks for doesn't really have anything to do with being contagious (or not).

BTW, somehow my test results finally made it to a Massachusetts contact tracer (since Mass is my legal address), so I got a call yesterday (6 days after my positive test). Good thing I already knew enough to notify people and stay quarantined. I am not impressed with Massachusetts response.

Regardless I am now out of quarantine! It has been over 10 days since my symptoms started and they are all gone now. Thank goodness. I am taking a LONG walk outdoors today!

ETA: Weight 127 - not really going down but also not up so I will take it for now.

Stay safe, healthy and Covid free!

Weight up a lot. I had a salt binge last night. I don't know what brought it on, but it started with a couple of olives and would have been fine if I stopped there, but no, I moved onto pistachios and ended with goldfish crackers. Back up on the wagon with water retentive me!

Today I'm having lunch in the park with a friend. Probably not in keeping with our overlord's directives, but I don't care. There is no evidence anyone is catching anything distanced and outside.

My hairdresser and her husband think they have Covid now (6 months after their son who lives with them had it) so she called to cancel my appointment tomorrow, which I appreciated! She said hers feels like allergies and she never would have thought it could be something else except her husband (who had a heart attack last month, eek) had a fever of 99 for one evening and now has lost his sense of taste and smell, but nothing else. They tested it by holding the cinnamon bottle under his nose - nothing. Neither feel bad or overly fatigued and are 6 days into whatever they have. They'll be tested today and who knows when they'll have results. The range of Covid continues to surprise me.

Yeah I could potentially have thought it was allergies too - the taste/smell issue didn't start right away but it was fairly pronounced for a while.

Good Morning All

Drizzly morning here - hoping it clears soon so we can get the lawns done this afternoon. We have had a lot of rain at the city house.... No more calves - just 3 with scourers (runny butts) which DH is treating and its working well. Think the dairy calf might have had it and brought it with him. Im heading up to the farm after work tommorrow. Saturday is my SIL and FIL Birthdays in heaven so we as a family are going to the graves and then out to lunch. Nice to spend time together.

Saw my goddaughter and her girls last night in a park. Its been a year since I saw them and boy have they grown! It was lovely to spend time with them all :) Had a video call with our old neighbours - Its Isabellas birthday today and I had sent a gift - she called to thank me :) So wonderful to see them all too. They are coming to Melbourne for a quick visit and will come over next Thursday :) I cant wait. So thats about all my news. I need to head over to my mums and change her bedding after work then home to potter. Finally having a night at home. Our cleaner has bulging disks in her back so wont be able to clean till next year so I will have to give the house a whip over too.

Diane O - Thank goodness you are both negative and hope you continue to feel better each day

Liz - Yay to being out of quarantine - you will love being able to get out in the fresh air again. Its not how we are geared to be penned inside. Messes with our heads

Miss - Welcome home and sorry for your loss.

Cec - Buggar re the weight and hoping your hairdresser and her DH are negative

BB - The pancakes the other day looked so gorgeous - you are so creative. How are your hands going? I suffer badly and find when bad the only thing that works for me is a strong cortizone cream and gloves. I also dont wash dishes without gloves on. Im allergic to latex so need to be careful. Healing vibes

Peps - How is your Pop going?

DD - Hello

Diane S - Hello too

Hello also to any I have missed

I had best get some work done :)

I don't have much to say these days, work, sleep fitfully, (work stress!), eat (sometimes too much), repeat. Occasionally take a mental break to daydream about our scheduled trip to Florida the end of February. I don't want to invest too much planning/anticipation in this trip, in case it ends up having to be cancelled like the 6 other trips Covid cancelled. But hope still lives, so I will be cautiously optimistic.

Yesterday, Minnesota Department of Health described how a Covid vaccine will be distributed once it's available. First health care workers and elderly in congregate living, next group, first responders and teachers. I hope to be rolling up my sleeve by this spring.
