Hello tribe ! We have a covering of new snow that makes everything look clean and fresh. Ceci, congratulations on your scale successes and decluttering efforts. Hope Fergs is feeling better and good boy for staying off the rugs ! Shirl, you have so much energy ! Love the calving updates and hearing about your grandbabies. DD, calluses from texts ! How are IEP meetings done during Covid ? Peps, those biceps are crazy ! How did the district respond to your medical necessity letter ? BB, those girls are adorable beyond description ! Have you thought more about working for your parents ? Liz, hearing less and less about Mike. So envious of your weather ! Diane, hope new cases are calming down where you are! We want a picture of your neighbor's lights !

Our numbers are jumping up and we are not venturing out as much once again. With my mom in a retirement facility and my sister, daughter and two nieces on the medical front line, I'm anxious to see how the vaccine's roll out. All in all, I'm on more of an even keel. Stay healthy and stay safe !

Not so much about Mike I guess because it is more routine now?

So, DD called late yesterday and said she had tested positive for Covid. Mike and I both feel like we have colds which I'm guessing are really Covid so we have an appointment to get tested @ 12:30. Mine is just like a head cold with no fever or other symptoms much like DD. Mike is more congested in his sinuses and is coughing a lot, but also no fever. I am not so worried about me, but Mike seems more affected. We contacted all the relevant people to give a heads-up. If we have it, the symptoms started Saturday so if there is no fever and the symptoms are subsiding, we would be out of quarantine a week from today (10 days after symptom onset).

That's the news for today. Not much else of note...

I hope if you do have it, it continues to be more like a cold, and not like a very bad influenza.

Not to be a doomsayer, but when I had my bout with Covid onset of symptoms was on a Sunday night. My worst days came after day 4. Day 5 was pretty bad. 6-7 were bearable. 8-10 got worse, then I started feeling like I was truly on the road to recovery. However, my recovery took a solid 12-16 weeks and I believe I have some minor lung damage that is still trying to fix itself.

All this to say, PLEASE BE CAREFUL and don't over do it. I'm hoping you both really just have colds. Fingers crossed!

Weight down 0.2

I have a birthday/Christmas lunch with a couple of good friends today at a fancy restaurant in Newport Beach. Except I realized I literally haven't worn anything except stretchy pants/shorts and tshirts in 10 months! I so hope I can find something decent that fits in my closet. I'm about what I weighed at the end of my NZ/Aus trip, so I hope that is a good sign.

Ferg seems to be feeling better, thankfully.

I'm also hoping today's lunch doesn't mess up my scale progress for the week (currently no progress). Must choose wisely.

My eBay book bids are up to $133.50. People are nuts.

I hope you all have good days!

Are you dining al fresco? Our county no longer allows inside dining. I can't fathom going to a restaurant for anything other than take out with the way things are spiking here. Our local Kaiser's COVID unit is at capacity.

Yes. No indoor dining here anymore. The ICUs here are at 47% capacity

OceanDiane, good to see you! The news about the vaccines is encouraging. We have a good friend who is on the team at Pizer that is working on the distribution logistics. He says being on the vaccine team is his proudest professional moment. Since he has a PHD in chemistry from UCLA, I'm thinking he's had a lot of successful moments. He is quite optimistic about the vaccine. I'm hoping his optimism is well founded. And a fresh coat of snow can be quite beautiful. When the ground is all brown/grey snow does spruce up the vista.

We are doing IEP meetings on google meets. If parents can't do a virtual meeting, they can call in from their phone, and we do the meeting with audio input. The meetings tend to be shorter than in person meetings. The social chit chat is more subdued.

Cecily, what on earth is up with those books? I hope your dive into your going out clothes went okay. I am also wearing a lot of comfy clothes. I did have my jeans on 2 weeks ago. Should probably put them on again this week.

Doing okay with tracking food, weight losses not apparent on the scale. At least I'm not gaining.

Right? So crazy. Most of it is one lot of 18 paperbacks at $79. Makes me wonder if one of them is out of print? I'm too lazy to investigate.

I was successful in my clothing search! A cute denim dress. It's in the 70s here today and we'll be outside, so I should be warm enough.

PS - not pleased my surgeon is now showing at the top of my posts. Weird.
