I am still feeling down after DD leaving. But I am at the beach to vegetate vs. sitting around the house. Not much else to do...

Food cravings are somewhat less, but we will see what the day brings. I don't plan to step on the scale for at least a couple more days.

Have a safe, healthy day!

Weight down from yesterday. I think water would be a good idea today! What a novel idea...

I went through all those books I had dug out the other day and sorted by author. Then I found the authors with a lot of books that would all fit in one of the leftover boxes I had and listed them on eBay. I think two of them are going to be very successful! As I get more boxes, I'll list more, then just donate the ones that don't categorize well. I don't need the money, but it's become a fun, motivating game. I like to think of it as what I've made so far has paid for 2.5 cleaning people visits. And with less clutter, it's easier for them to clean!

No organized plans for today. There is a slight chance of some Christmas decorating. I know it makes me a Grinch, but all I can think about is having to take it all down in a few weeks. Where are elves when you need them? I also need to take a walk, I think. Sunny and 75 today - the best of California weather.

Definitely take a walk! I wish I was half as organized as you are these days.

If it helps, my downstairs currently looks like a book bomb went off!

Good Morning All - Hope you all had a nice thanksgiving x

Back from the farm late afternoon yesterday and start of the working week for me. I went to bed very early last night as I was totally exhausted. All I did all weekend was run after and feed ppl. 10 for dinner Friday night, 17 for breakfast Saturday, 12 for dinner Saturday night. Thankful the kitchen is closed !

Working from my mums today as I need to help her wrap her presents and get organised. I already have her dishwasher on and the recycling is out - more to come

Still only 3 calves at the farm. Expecting a few over the next week or so - A huge relief to the mummas

Weight - I weighed this am - happy to say I am back under 80 kgs - just but wrapt 175.78 lbs 80 kgs was my top weight I promised myself I wouldnt get over and I made it to 82.4. Back to 79.9 so I will just keep moving as that seems to shift it.

Liz - big hug xxx And I think a swim and looking over the water sounds wonderful

Cec - I need your organisation skills and purging of "stuff" - can you please send them over

Love to you all. I had best go deal with emails etc

I am slowly decorating and putzing around the house. My son and his girlfriend delayed their departure until early this morning. I didn't even hear them leave, I think they left around 7 am. I get my best sleep then. :) Shame I have to get up at 6am on work days.

Beach sounds lovely. It is difficult to come up with novel plans when so much is no longer an option. I miss theater and live music so much.

Shirl, you made up for 12 weeks of no socializing in one weekend!

Cecily, my book piles are threatening to collapse. I need to get them into the hands of friends who might want to read them, or donate them. I like how you're using the reselling game as an incentive to keep at it.

I suspect the evening will continue to be quiet, maybe some more episodes of Last Tango in Halifax. I was watching Mrs. America also, before I got distracted. Kate Blanchette is amazing as always.

Greeting Friends

Not much to report here except the weather is good. Neighbors across the street put up HUGE christmas lighting display. These houses are not big and I can't figure out where they store all the stuff. They also do huge halloween. Must have a storage unit

We stayed home thanksgiving but were given a lovely take out turkey dinner by friends. What a treat not to cook. Friday and saturday were governed by football. I resisted the urge to stop by the studio - we are having an outdoor pottery sale there and I wish to avoid doing work.

Speaking of work, Shirley new little cows! How fun. Hope the rest come soon.

Vegetating at the beach does not count as vegetating Liz. You have to be inside and in front of a tv.

Yay Cecily for getting rid of books. Our local senior center used to let you trade in paper backs for others. There is also a bookstore here that lets you trade in two toward another book. But only if they need them.

I am thinking about weight. Not doing much. Our nephew and his wife have both lost 100 lbs on keto. I am glad for them as they were both in dangerous territory. Nephew was going to do the sleeve but his mother talked him out of it. Just as well. He can do it at a later time if needed but hoping he won't. I know I need to get back to protein stuff. A few carbs here and there. Does not take much in the way of carbs for me to really pack weight on.

So DH continues on his gadget kick. He now has a battery powered mister for the indoor plants! Really?!! And then he mists them so heavily he might as well just pour water on. He also got an Apple watch which I knew he would sooner or later. It beeps frequently to tell him his heart rate or something. I would get one if it told me my calorie consumption.

Stay well all.

Hi all.

Slipping in on one bar, maybe. - internet connection sketchy most of the time in the piney woods of the Florida panhandle. Haven't been on anyway. Ive been here for a while experiencing the mystery and closure that comes with the is the passing of my father and the hard and exhausting work that comes with the gathering of such a diversified family as I have. It has been both sublime and terrifying at the same time, but necessary and ultimately good. Just hard work and exhausting- and amarvelous gift and privilege all at the same time.

I miss DH and my children and Swanny and long to see them. Will be here with my sister for a bit and then meander back home.

There was no unfinished business to work out with my dad- we worked that out a long time ago- only love in the goodbye and a feeling of wholeness. I am blessed in that and so grateful.

I will be back when I get back (Hope to be back posting sooner than later.)

It is good-it is all good.

So sorry about your father. It sounds like you have a good, supportive family.
