Weight 130.6. Yep, over 130. Not good!

Today we are taking DD for an Airboat ride, then maybe going to the pool. Tonight is Taco Tuesday (like I should be eating, right???)

Great to have DD here though I suspect my weight will suffer greatly this week. Time to get under control next week!

Stay safe and healthy!

Hmmm. I wonder if the reaction to the vaccine varies with other factors like age etc. I have occasionally felt a little under the weather from flu shots, but not any big deal.

My husband signed up to be screened to participate in a vaccine trial. I think it is Astra Zeneca. He got a call back, but he's not sure he wants to do it, but not for the reason you would think. He's afraid he would get the placebo and go through all the rigamarole of participating in a trial "for nothing". I said being part of a control group is important scientific work too, but I guess he wants to pioneer the vaccine.

Thanks, Peps! Interesting. I know my dad's wife had an unpleasant reaction to her one of her shingles shots that sounds a lot like this and lasted 24 hours.

Good point that the side effects need to be disclosed, but I believe they usually are? I feel like I was warned about possible side effects from Shingles or other vaccines. I sure hope people aren't such babies that they can't take a day or 2 of discomfort to end this pandemic.

I have a friend who won't take it. She does not trust the FDA and she thinks there could be hidden dangers lurking in the vaccine. She also doesn't want to feel like **** after the second shot. That is a strong deterrent for her. Sigh....

Weight down a bit today.

I hate making phone calls to arrange things that need to get get done, so I procrastinate like no one's business. But yesterday I got quite a few made and it felt productive. But the job I REALLY need done is having some trees removed from some enormous pots that are crumbling (and that my HOA sent me a threatening letter about) and I can't get anyone to call me back! Grrr.

Therapy today, but that's all the official stuff. Perhaps I will clean out my car too. I hate dirty car interiors, but with Covid, I got out of the habit of going to the car wash. Maybe I'll do that today...

I guess I haven't posted in a while. I think most of you know I was at a show from Thursday through Sunday.

First I have to say that I am very disappointed in many of my fellow dog fanciers. I was amazed by how people were behaving. Friday was like a super spreader event. They had to close the show down to get people to comply. Luckily, Ron and I parked GOAT off in a corner. We were all by ourselves - a good 50 feet from the next closest RV, maybe more. We went to the ring to show and promptly left. The late afternoon groups presented no problem as social distancing was easy at that time of day. All the dogs did very well. I'm pleased to report that in one weekend Lucky earned enough Owner Hander Series points to take the #1 Airedale spot in the national rankings. Now, to keep him there for the next 10 months. LOL!

One of the better professional ringside candid photographers took photos of Lucky and me in the ring. Shocking to see myself in profile. I had some strong negative feelings rise up, but was able to let go of them fairly quickly. What bothers me a little more, actually, is that I was sore and my feet hurt terribly from the "running" I had to do in the ring. I am sure that has not only to do with being out of "showing shape" (it's been over a year), but from all the extra weight I am carrying.

I was feeling tired and worn out yesterday and maybe a bit better today. I think the work of the weekend was more exhausting than I anticipated. Traveling with 6 Airedales, grooming and showing, making dinner, hosting a socially distanced luncheon at the RV.... It was a busy weekend. The exhaustion coupled with the weight reality has me feeling a bit deflated and mildly down.

At least I wasn't thrown into a tailspin by the photos, but the reality of those photos has definitely given me pause. I realize, too, that really I'm no bigger than I was 2 years ago, so I don't know why I was so shocked. The mind works in strange ways.

Thanksgiving is going to be just as I suspected and hoped.... The 4 of us in the close bubble - Ron, BFF, Auntie Kathryn, and me. Will be perfect. Relaxed and low key.

Phone appointment with the doctor today regarding returning to work with COVID. But now I'm thinking I won't have to return to the classroom with students until a vaccine is available, but who knows. Doc called early. I'm one of the few patients he has that actually qualifies as high risk according to the CDC, so I get "the letter".

Hope everyone has a nice week and a happy Thanksgiving.

So strange that I was in person, and now doing distance learning, and your school is doing the opposite. If you remain a distance learning teacher, will you get a new class of students whose patents opted to keep their kids in a virtual classroom?

My district has postponed students returning to the classroom. The district is "toggling" back from hybrid model to complete remote. They had not gotten very far with transitioning to hybrid (only SPED and TK students - for you non educators that means special educational needs students and transitional (or pre) Kindergarteners). Kindergarten students were supposed to start back up on 11/30, but that was nixed by the board last week. The January 4th return date for 1-8 grade students has also been put on hold until our state in back to the "orange" tier. (CA's has critical tier levels: Purple being the worst, then red, orange and yellow.) We are now in purple in our county.

The district is probably going to flip when they get my letter. But, oh well....
