Right? The state's gone mad.

Hoping to get a little decorating done this weekend. One of the sad parts of getting older is that I am so tired out from work, that I never have enough energy to do everything I hope to accomplish on the weekend. But anyhow, it's Friday evening, which always feels lovely to me, pandemic or not. CD, our administrative assistant placed an order for take out, and DH is on his way to pick it up.

Cecily, I agree that continuing to film doesn't make sense because there are a lot of people working in close proximity to each other. I read that some crews have made a bubble, and no one new can be with them, and all the set crew and actors etc stay together. But I think that's happening for filming that's on location, where people are already renting places to stay, etc.

BB I do hope you get to go on a winter trip. Speaking of movies, have you watched Second Hand Lions? It wasn't a big hit when it first came out, but it is another movie like a Christmas Story. Delightful, and great for multi generation family viewing. It's the other movie we watched in my reading intervention class. I used it to study elements of plot, and had students complete it charts. They didn't necessarily like the assignments, but they LOVED the movie.

Greetings All

Yep I am out here. lazy about posts I guess because I am so not into a weight management place right now. Just floating along. I really need to get serious about changing some habits. I guess I am treating the pandemic as one giant sick day where I get to do whatever I want. Not smart.

Liz we are doing Thanksgiving sort of like you - going to the home of friends who have all been careful as we are all old. Only six of us I think. One friend has alzheimers bad. Might not have many more thanksgivings. So I am in a search for chicken livers to make my famous pate. None to be found at safeway but I am hoping the organic store will have frozen. A treat for one friend of ours who is caring for her disabled husband with little help because he will not allow it.

Yay Cecily on rescuing the lost dog. I think I told you all that my brother got a rescue pomeranian except we think its an American eskimo dog. Cute and smart. I am so glad my brother has it as his illness has kept him home alone a lot.

Speaking of home alone - another good Christmas movie - I am partial to trains planes and automobiles. We were talking the other day about the scene where John Candy sells shower curtain rings as earrings to women in a diner so they have money to eat. Love that show.

Our county is in the red tier so not the same as where Cecily is. But we are expecting to go purple soon. Interesting about the lack of curfew for entertainment industry. There are a couple of films being shot up here. The scene in Jurassic Park 2 of dinosaurs running down the creek bed was shot near here.

What DD, who does not like pumpkin pie??!! Ok, the crusts are kind of icky but who cares. I am a pecan girl and my grandma made the best. Crap. One more yummy thing I can't eat.

BB I hear you on hating not being able to plan. It sends me into a tailspin if even one extra person shows - I fuss about chairs, table space, enough silverware and bla bla bra. I so marvel at people who entertain seemingly effortlessly. I bet you are one of those even though I know you plan and worry.

Yo dog show Peps! Sounds like you had a great time. I am envious.

DH brought home most of a burrito from lunch. Yay, no cooking for me.

Cheers all. diane s

We still love hearing from you, even if you're just floating along!
