Weight 128.6 (down 1). Hopefully it is a little steak high as well. It always seems to do that but I guess I will live with it right now as Mike cooks steak once a week.

Tonight I am making an eggplant lasagne - low-carb and fairly healthy. We will see what Mike thinks - this man can eat a lot and is a pasta lover. So different from DH!

Nothing else other than that I am feeling mentally better and the humidity has finally dropped here. It is a gorgeous day right now and all my windows are open.

Stay safe and healthy!

Weight same as yesterday.

I have PT later today, and dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant with my two girlfriends tonight. We're back to outdoor seating only, which isn't a problem here. We got to 90 degrees yesterday, but should only see 75 today. That's sweater weather here!

I had a hummingbird accidentally fly in my house this morning. They are loud in an enclosed space! He took a look around, obviously found it lacking, then went back outside.

This morning I woke up too late for breakfast, so I'm greatly looking forward to lunch. Still doing well on my food. Funny how it's exponentially easier to stay on a roll than to start one. Though tonight I need to stay away from the chips and stick to 2 tacos instead of 3. They are super fancy tacos, so 2 is plenty. When no one had any ideas I suggested a Mediterranean restaurant where ordering would be easy, but I was overruled by the friend who always overrules me. Given she is moving back to England permanently in a matter of weeks and won't have the pleasure of Puesto tacos, I will let it go. Starting... now. But I hate that. Having no suggestions until someone else finally makes one and then when all is settled, changing everything. Annoying. So wait... really starting now.

I'm pretty sure that having a hummingbird enter and leave your house unscathed is good luck or some kind of blessing!

When I reply, I don't know, about where to eat, I tell myself, I cannot object to the suggestion if I abdicated making a decision. I think I used to do to my husband what your friend does: say I didn't care, then object to his choice. Not fair, so if I can't choose, I offer some choices that are okay with me, and he picks, or, I have to be gracious about his choice. But this has developed over almost 40 years of negotiations. :)

Well said! My best friend and I have a system where one of us offers up three choices. The restaurant has to come from the list of 3. It takes the pressure off of which ever of us is feeling indecisive and you're guaranteed that both are happy with the ultimate choice because both had some say in the outcome, but no one was burdened with having to picking one place both would like. We are complicated, fickle beasts!

As an update, after all that she canceled on us and we're still going to the place neither of the remaining two asked for because that's where we have reservations. Argh!

Totally blows that she cancelled!

Liz I hope your eggplant dish was well received. My husband has a big appetite, and he has a very physical job, so he can put away a lot of food! After my sleeve the volume looks even more. I will often set aside my lunch portion(s) at dinner time because sometimes his before bed 3rd serving wipes out the leftovers.

I've been blue the last few days, but am also now feeling better. Tomorrow starts our official shift to distance learning. We get a couple of planning days, and I feel such relief to know I have some space for learning and processing. Our WiFi is being upgraded and they gave me 2 free months because I'm a remote teacher. I'll take it :)

We have vouchers with Sun Country Airlines that expire in January. We decided we will book a trip to St. Petersburg/Tampa the end of February. If it's simply not a safe time to travel (although if this 2nd wave hasn't peaked by early spring, not traveling will be the least thing to worry about) we'll pay a fee to reschedule. But I sure hope I'm catching some sun the last week of February. Having something to look forward to feels wonderful.

My son and his girlfriend are coming for Thanksgiving. She works entirely from home, and my son works part-time at home, and assured us everyone is wearing masks when he goes to the office. I want to do what's right for our community at large to stop the spread of Covid, so I hope I'm not just rationalizing that having them travel from Wisconsin is just fine. But in the end, I can cancel plans with the rest of the family, but not with my boy. That I just can't do.

Winter is definitely upon us. The days are dark by 5 pm. Saw a tweet that made me lol for real:

Hello darkness my old friend, why do you come at 4pm?

I am with you on seeing our children. I just have to. And I have to be home with them at Christmas for that holiday but also the anniversary of DH's death. I wished I had been there for his birthday but they did celebrate/remember him in fine style.
